I had to be to work at 8:00 this morning. It sucked. I was freaking bored most of the day. Only had one run to the railyard. Well, two actually, but it was one right after the other without shutting off the van. Then I went to McDonald's twice. Big whoop.

The hard part about working at that time is getting up at 5:45! My body is used to going to bed around 1:00 am!!! So, needless to say, I'm a bit tired right now.

Hmm... the clock on my computer seems to be running fast. I may actually get this posted before the day changes! Woohoo!!

Well, I'm probably gonna head off to bed here fairly soon. I am getting a little spacy... er, spacier than usual? I did manage to visit all that updated on the 26th! I swear that I'm gonna get caught up on the guestbook one of these days!!!

   Ho! Ho! Ho!

Well, it's about 10:15 pm on Christmas Day here. I hope you all had a great day filled with fun, family and whatever else. Mine was full of fun, family & noise. It gets a bit noisy around here when we get together. But it's fun.

So... what interesting things did you all get? I got three CDs - two from my neice & one from my brother: Insomnia & Nimrod by Green Day and Mesmerize by System of a Down. I got a book from Mom & Dad: Images from the Floating Island - it's a book about Japanese art. I got a little bulletin board from my nephew: it's got a smiley face in the middle of it. From work, I got a day off with pay to be taken at my convenience. And from one of the guests, a really soft teddy bear & some lefse. Not a big haul, but a truly cool one.

Well, I gotta get to bed here pretty soon. I have to be to work at 8:00 tomorrow morning. Ick. It's gonna be fun trying to fall asleep before 1:00 am!!! I'm so used to working until midnight!

   Happy Christmas!!!

Well, it's Christmas Eve, gang. I hope you're all having a good time. I'm at work and have been fighting with the wireless all evening. I've given up on it for now and am on one of the lobby computers to do this. Eventually I hope to get the wireless functioning again. Otherwise I will go insane here without a high-speed connection.

   ME! World Tour 1986

Well, here it is Thursday night. I'm at home fighting the urge to beat the computer into oblivion. Not really, but the slow dialup is driving me batty.

I didn't go anywhere today. I stayed at home and finished off ten strings of origami cranes. I really should do another one. I also really need to do labels or something for those ten so I know who gets which set. I made them as Christmas presents for the girls at work. I should find a little bit about the meaning of the cranes. That would be cool. I just hope there's enough ink in the printer!

I also want to go watch more of my DVDs, but that's not gonna happen for a little while.

I went to see King Kong with my brother. Very good movie!!! I admit it freely... I cried! However, if you have a chance to see the original 1933 version, see it!!! It's excellent.

I think I'm going to go to bed now. I've just about had it with the shenanigans of this computer here at home and want to go watch a DVD for a while.

I was lazy this morning and didn't wash my hair. I fully expected to just be able to hang around at home and not go anywhere. I also expected to be able to do my laundry today. But... April called in sick and I got called to go to work. I got called about 5 minutes after I put my work clothes into the washer!!! So, here I sit with dirty hair pulled into a ponytail and wearing my khakis & a black sweater. Hahahaha!!!!

Dang! The wireless is cutting out on me again. I don't wanna go offline, but I am in a mood where I feel like reading some manga that I downloaded. I guess that's what I'm gonna do, 'cause the connection just bugged out again...

   a tiny speck in a ruthless universe

Monday. I'm in a weird mood.

This morning as I was getting dressed, a pink JCPenney's bag caught my eye. It was full of buttons. Not the type that you fasten clothing with, but the type that has pictures or clever saying on them and you wear upon clothing. I think there was probably close to 20 of them in that bag. Then I found a tin that had a bunch more. Soon my bed had lots of buttons on it. Some are pretty silly. Some are movie or book promotional stuff. Some are for 1980s rock groups. I wish I could wear some of them here at work.... not the rock group ones. The ones with the pithy sayings. *insert evil laughter here*

I did some of my Christmas shopping today. Yay! I figured I may as well do it on a day that I have to be in Sioux City rather than on a day off so I don't feel like I'm wasting gas. I still have to ask my Mom if I should get the "little" kids anything. I feel bad if I don't, but I don't know if I should....

The big debate around here is if saying "Merry Christmas" or "Happy Holidays" is offensive. My opinion is this: neither are offensive. I appreciate both of them. You can't always tell by looking at someone if they're Christian, Jewish, Muslim, agnostic, athiest, or pagan. "Happy Holidays" covers everything - Christmas, Hannukah, Kwanzaa, Agnostica, the Winter Solstice, New Years. I just wish people would stop being offended for me.

I guess that sums up things for me today. I may just get offline here. I keep losing my connection. At least the wireless is working! Yay!

I got the laptop functioning on the wireless! Wheee!!! I just uninstalled and reinstalled the driver for the wireless thingy.

My first couple hours of work were spent driving all over the place. I haven't been anywhere since. I still have 3.5 hours to go. Will I make it with what's left of my sanity intact? Highly doubtful....

   Accio Functioning Computer!

Well, here it is, Saturday night at work. Yippee.

Went to see the 4th Harry Potter movie finally. My brother actually went to see it with me! He hasn't seen the first three, and has never expressed any desire to see them, so I was really surprised that he went with me. I had to fill him in on some of the stuff going on. He actually said it was pretty good. I liked it more than the 3rd one. I thought the 3rd one was a little lacking in a way that I can't really express. But all in all, I enjoyed this one.

As for my subject line... I'm having issues with the laptop. Something happened between work and the time I got back to the room that now I am unable to browse with the thing. I have an inkling of what may be wrong, but can't quite remember what to do to take care of it. So, until I get that thing taken care of, I am stuck with the desk computers here. They're slower than my dialup at home!!!! Hopefully, I'll have whipped the thing into submission by the time I get to work tomorrow.

Well, I think I'm going to do something that doesn't involve the computer for a while before the end of my shift. I don't quite know what, though. Either write or draw. Whichever leaps out of my bag at me first. Just watch... it'll be neither of them and will be the Japanese books my Dad just gave me yesterday.

I'm sitting here listening to Aerosmith! Wheee!!!! I prefer to have this disk at a louder volume, but as my parents are sleeping across the hall, I better not have it up too loud.

Well, my day was filled with a lot of nothing. I predicted that last night, didn't I? I did shovel snow off the walk again. Stupid snow.... Caprice! You want it? Come on down and get it!!! It's only halfway through December and I'm sick of it already!

Mom baked Christmas cookies today!! She did the sugar cookies that we used to spend lots of time decorating. Now they just get colored sugar sprinkled on them before baking. Some of the ones that didn't get sugared will be frosted and then sugared.

I had to walk downtown to get more colored sugar. So while I was there, I looked around at Christmas candy and remembered that our little grocery store always has Brach's candy at Christmas time. I got myself a little over a half pound of chocolate covered peanuts. YUM!!!! I get very selfish with those things.

Well, I don't have much else to say here. I gotta work at 3:00 tomorrow. Blah. At least I'll be home before midnight. LOL!
