Who needs sleep?
Well last night I didn't! I ended up at the motel overnight 'cause the weather was a little icky. It had rained all day and right around 11 pm, it turned to snow. I probably could have driven home, but I don't like to drive in snow at night.
I apologize for not posting at all yesterday. As it turned out, I had a fairly busy night of van runs. Then when I got to the room, I was too far away for the wireless to connect properly. So I sat up and read downloaded manga until the second run of FullMetal Alchemist....which was at 3:00 am!!! I sorta wish I was at the motel tonight so I could see how things turn out. I was kinda left hanging there.
Anyhoo...not much went on today. I got home around 10:00. Shoved the slushy snow off the sidewalk. Then I was pretty much lazy the rest of the day. I did finally finish that picture I started a couple weeks ago. It's now in the fanart section along with a doodle I did at work last night.
So, that's my exciting day. Tomorrow will probably be about the same, but more than likely without the driving home from the motel and drawing.

What could possibly go wrong? *crash* Ooops....
Well, here it is, Monday night at work. I'm mildly bored. I've been out on a couple runs and that's about it.
I have a wee rant here tonight: I'm just a little tired of the hispanic people that refuse to learn enough English to communicate. We had a group of construction workers check in tonight and I think maybe one of them can speak a little English. I'm sorry, I don't speak Spanish. I don't intend to learn it, either. I had one of them call for a microwave. I asked if he needed a refrigerator, too. He just kept saying he needed a microwave. I talked to our maintenance guy later and he said the guy asked for a fridge. *smacks head a la Homer Simpson* D'oh! Wasn't that what I asked the guy?!?!?!
Okay. Enough ranting. I still have that headache I had when I went to bed last night. It went away briefly during the night, but returned in the morning. I also got woke up earlier than intended by a cat. She decided she was going to throw up on my bed. I sat up and got her off my bed quick! She didn't barf on my bed. Yay. But she did on my floor & in the hall. Sorry, I know that was gross, but it happened.
So, here I am... downloading more manga and killing time. Hopefully I'll get to read some more FMA tonight!

Just because I'm paranoid, it doesn't mean that they're not out to get me!
Sunday and I didn't have to work! I switched Sunday for Friday with April because she can't get a babysitter for Friday night. As if you care...
I didn't do much of anything today. I got out of bed, ate food at various times during the day, watched some TV, worked on my Japanese for the first time in a while, talked with my brother, and played around on both this computer and the laptop.
I read some more of the FMA that I downloaded. Dang!!! I can't believe what I just read! I want to read more, but that would involve getting offline and going downstairs after the laptop. I guess I'll save it for tomorrow at work.
Well, I'm a bit headachy tonight, so I don't know how much longer I'll be hanging around. I'm gonna go read some more posts and finish off my email. Not in that order maybe.

No one expects the Spanish Inquisition!
Well...it's just past midnight, so that makes it officially Saturday here...but let me tell you about my Friday.
I didn't do much of anything noteworthy today. Got the mail. Vacuumed the living room, dining room & kitchen. Went to Sioux City with my brother. Didn't buy anything but food. I was gonna get some InuYasha TCG cards, but Target doesn't have them anymore. Oh well, that's probably best in the long run. I need to go through those that I have to see if any of the pictures would make cool e-cards or something.
My right wrist hurts. Let me give you a little background on that wrist. I broke it when I was five years old and sprained it when I was 23 years old. There's also a bit of a lump that shows up on it at times. Whenever that lump is there, the wrist will bother me. The lump isn't very big today, but the wrist still hurts. It hurts to hold a piece of paper in that hand! Anyhoo...about an hour ago, I figured out what may be the cause of the ache. I shovelled the sidewalk yesterday!!! It was a "well, duh!" sort of moment when I figured that out.
I think I'm gonna go wander away now. Actually, I think I'm gonna see if Spybot will update for me. It wouldn't update on the laptop the other night. How odd....

Your money or your lupines!
*starts humming the Dennis Moore song*
Yes, obscure references up there. *insert evil laugh here* Virtual quarter to anyone that can tell me what that's from.
Well, my Thursday was okay. I woke up around 9:30 to a quiet house. Mom & Dad went to Sioux City. Mom had to have some tests done at the hospital for her pneumonia. Nothing serious. She's okay, except for the pneumonia.
It snowed during the night, so I had the pleasure of shovelling the walk. Yippee. Then I had lunch and did the dishes. Yippee again. Then wrote a couple checks for bills and walked to the post office. Not yippee. Bills suck.
Then the afternoon was spent typing and relaxing. The evening was spent yakking with my brother. And now here I am.
Observations on things:
I have come across three nasty music combinations off of radio stations in the Sioux City area.
1. Don't Fear the Reaper by Blue Oyster Cult followed by Electric Youth by Debbie Gibson.
2. A Beethoven string concerto followed by a saxophone ensemble playing Somewhere Over the Rainbow.
3. Tom Sawyer by Rush (we're not worthy!) followed by the Alvin & the Chipmunks Christmas song!!!!!!!!!
I have pressed lupines in my dictionary. They've been there for over 20 years.
I nearly busted a gut laughing at the translation of Major Hughes' wife's name on my Fullmetal Alchemist DVD last night. Gracia had been translated for the subtitles as "Glacier."
Cinnamon ice cream kicks ass!
Well, I think that's about it for tonight. Oh! Nearly forgot. New story part down below. It's a short one for a change!

A Surprise for Hikaru
There are some things you’ll never forget. For Hikaru, one of those things happened on the day after he burst into flame. For the rest of his days, he would never forget what he saw that morning.
Samantha and Midori stopped in the market and bought some breakfast to take over to the house. Samantha was wearing her new kimono and was a bit nervous as they walked.
Midori glanced over at Sam and smiled. “What is wrong, Sam-chan?” she asked, fully knowing what the problem was.
Sam fidgeted with the basket. “Do I look all right?” She smoothed out a wrinkle only she could see.
“You look fine. Don’t worry so much,” Midori said. “We’re almost there.”
Sam looked ahead and saw the little house. She took a deep breath. “All right, I can do this,” she said quietly.
They approached the house and could hear raised voices in the back. They went around to the backyard to find Takeda and Hikaru sparring with shinai. It seemed almost as if the two were taking out their frustrations on each other.
“Oh!” Sam exclaimed as Takeda landed a solid hit on Hikaru. The boy landed on his rear at his teacher’s feet. There seemed to be a look of satisfaction on Takeda’s face. Sam dropped the basket and ran to help Hikaru up. “Are you all right?” she asked as she held out her hand.
At first, Hikaru glared up at Sam, eyes flashing in anger, but his expression quickly changed to one of surprise as he realized it was Samantha holding out a hand. He hadn’t expected to see her dressed like that. He took her hand and allowed her to help him to his feet. “Arigatô,” he muttered. He looked away, feigning embarrassment at being seen at Takeda’s feet, and dusted himself off. He stole another glance at Samantha and started to blush.
Takeda was just as surprised to see Samantha dressed like a young lady instead of a young man. He smiled as he lowered his shinai and went to help Midori pick up the basket of food. “Good morning, Midori-san,” he said. “Sam-san looks very nice today. It was quite a surprise to see her dressed that way.” His hand brushed Midori’s as they both reached for an apple.
Midori blushed slightly and said, “Thank you, Takeda-san. I thought she would like to look like a young lady again. Is Hikaru-kun feeling better today?”
Takeda looked over at Hikaru and Samantha and sighed. “Yes, he is. It’s been hard for him since his father died. Yesterday was a bad day for him.”
Midori suspected there was more to it than what Takeda let on, but she did not press the issue. “Sam-chan also wants to try out her Japanese. She’s been trying hard to learn so she can talk to people herself.”
“Good. Hikaru-kun needs someone his own age to talk to. Satsuo doesn’t visit very much anymore,” Takeda said. He helped Midori to her feet and picked up the basket. “Thank you for bringing this over. Have you had breakfast yet?”
“No. We thought we’d bring something over for you, but it seems to be ruined since Sam-chan dropped the basket. I think the fruit will be all right, but the rice is bad.”
“Not to worry. We have rice here. I’ll go prepare something.” Takeda went into the house to put together some breakfast.
Midori watched as Sam showed off her new kimono to Hikaru. The boy was speechless as he saw her dressed as a girl for the first time. Samantha was chattering away at him, and he just nodded, not understanding a thing she was saying. He seemed to be completely dumbfounded by her appearance.
Takeda came out with a tray of breakfast and called the two young people over to eat. They sat at the back of the house to eat. Samantha looked embarrassed as she realized she had ruined their breakfast by dropping the basket and apologized as best as she could in Japanese.
The rest of the morning was spent in conversation with Midori translating as needed for Samantha.
Takeda watched Hikaru and was surprised to see he had calmed down considerably from the angry state he had been in the night before. He was even eating breakfast with them. Takeda thought about it for a while and was wondering if the presence of Samantha had some hand in calming Hikaru. He would have to keep an eye on the boy’s moods when she wasn’t there, just to be sure.

Bingo with the old people!!!
I know...that wasn't nice at all.
Well, today (Wednesday) was a day off! Yay! I did very little of import during the morning, so I won't bore you with details. The afternoon was a bit busier with doing dishes and walking downtown to do some errands for the parentals. The evening was fun as I went to a Christmas party!
The party was with a club that I used to belong to (and may join again since I'm back in the area). We always meet at Theo's (the place where my brother totalled his car in front of!) and have good food and a gift exchange. Then we play Bingo. In the gift exchange, I got a little battery-operated camping lantern. It's really kind of cute. My brother got an ice scraper for his car. After we eat, we play Bingo. I didn't win anything, but my brother won a screwdriver set. Yeah, the gifts sound weird, but it's fun. My brother is also the one that came up with the line I have up there in the Subject line! Many of the members are in their 60s or 70s!
It's been an interesting week, and it's only half over. My Mom went to the doctor again the other day. She's got pneumonia! Dad's been coughing a lot lately and Mom made him go to the doctor this morning. He's got walking pneumonia! Then with my brother still having back issues, it ends up that I'm the only one that can really do anything about snow on the sidewalks! *enter sarcasm mode* Yippee! *exit sarcasm mode*
Well, I'm gonna hit the "Add Post" button shortly and then wander off across the hall to my room and watch a DVD for a while. Happy trails, y'all!

Don't mess with me. I'm in a pissy mood!
You've got a cranky Kitsune on your hands tonight, so ranting is in order.
I don't really know what put me into this mood today, but it hit me when I got into the van to do my first run this afternoon. The day driver didn't put gas in the van. I tried to get gas before hitting the railyard, but I couldn't get close to a pump. So off to the yard. There were lots of idiot drivers between me and my destination and that didn't help the mood at all. Of course the guys wanted to go to the grocery store. I don't mind that at all. I just hoped that I could get there and back to the gas station before running out of gas!!! Yes, that's how low the tank was! Stupid girl that was driving during the day doesn't like to get her hands dirty or something.... which is totally ironic as she's the one that was coughing all over her hands and the front desk area and got us all sick!
Now I'm trying to function online here and I keep losing my connection. Grrrrrr! Hopefully it will stay connected long enough for me to get this thing posted. And also to get updates for Ad-aware & Spybot. Ugh....
I'm having trouble getting to sites tonight. Both IE and Firefox are giving me partial loads and declaring them done. Even on my own site!!!! I don't feel like fighting this stupid thing, so I apologize for not visiting tonight.
Well. Off to update aforementioned utilities.

So cold... body temperature approaching Absolute Zero....
Monday evening. Work.
It's cold outside. It snowed a bit earlier this evening. Just enough to make the roads a mess. Now it's very very cold out. Someone said we're getting January weather right now. They were right. It's way colder than it usually is in December. I don't like it.
A couple years ago I discovered something. My car and I are kindred spirits. Neither of us like to start on cold mornings.
I think I'm gonna go read some manga now.

Guess what......
I'M BORED!!!!!
Yep. It's another dull Sunday night here at the old motel. I've been here 4 hours and haven't taken the van out once! So I've been playing online and actually hit all sites on my list that have updated. Whee! Now it's time to post.
Not much has happened. I worked yesterday. I'm working now. Tomorrow I work again. Same thing on Tuesday. Whee. Such an exciting life....
So. Now that you have all been thrilled by my exploits, I leave you all with a quiz I found on BNCF Shadow Star's site. Yay me! I made Kenshin happy!
You are a *huge* anime fan! You are just like me, you mainly daydream about anime, sleep and think about anime, and are a total anime addict!

Additional: Fried wonton is not good when cold. Just an observation.
Additional rant: I'm going to f***in' kill the guy that was doing the driving before me today. He left the window open on the van! It's frickin' cold outside! What kind of moron opens a window on a vehicle when the temperature is in the single digits?!?!?!
Okay... rant over.
