Well, I'm at work again, but it's different tonight. I'm experimenting with the old laptop and a wireless card. Dang! This thing is fast! A Kitsune could get spoiled by this.

Well, I've played around enough tonight. I actually visited a few sites because this thing is fast enough to get to sites when attached to a wireless network. However, I have things I need to do.

So... I gotta go!

   Continuing tales of stupidity...

Wednesday night....

Continuing where I left off last night with the guy leaving the tap on in the sink of his room when the water was turned off... He returned around 10 pm and came down and said "We have a big problem." I explained what we discovered and he got this look of sudden realization as he remembered turning the tap and leaving it on. He was so nice about the whole thing and moved all his stuff by himself to another room! The girl I was working with and I were so ready for him to start yelling at us and wanting the motel to reimburse him for the damage to his stuff. But he was so nice!!! We were so ready to tell him he'd have to deal with the manager in the morning about it and he shot us down by being nice. *sigh*

The downside is, several rooms in the area had to be blocked from use because of the water damage. I told the manager there was one good thing about what happened: it was a ground floor room! It would have been a really big disaster if the guy had been in a second floor room.

Update on my coworker that had the family emergency last week. She's back to work today and is doing as well as can be expected. What happened was that her sister died unexpectedly. It was a big shock to everyone. I've even cried for her and I don't think I ever met her sister. I may have sometime in the past, 'cause she used to work here, too. Crystal says "Thanks" to all that sent warm thoughts her way. I told her about posting about it. It's gonna take some time, but I'm sure Crystal will be okay in the long run. There's nothing that can replace Trisha, but she'll always be in her heart.

Well, now to finish scarfing these M&Ms... They sure didn't last very long...

I think I'm going to wander on now and try to hit a few sites if this slow computer will let me. I sure hope I can use the old laptop to do some of this stuff and some studying while I'm bored out of my skull here at work.

   True tales of stupidity...

Tuesday evening at the motel.

A pipe broke here today. The water was shut off so they could repair it. A guest turned on the tap in the sink in his room while it was off and didn't turn the tap off again. Then he left his room. Well, the water came back on since then. His room flooded. He's not back to his room yet. I hope he doesn't come back until after 11 pm. Then I won't have to deal with him screaming about his clothes and such being soaked due to his own stupidity! More details will follow as soon as I get them.

Other than that, not much is going on around here except for the numbskull trying to fax us on the toll-free line. At home, my Mom is doing her best to make me crazy. We spend the mornings cleaning. I can't do anything that she doesn't think is worth doing. That means no GBA, no computer, no reading of manga, no reading of the mystery novel I got from the library. I try to read at breakfast & she comes in the kitchen and chatters at me the whole time. They've been home only four days and already I'm going nuts. Whee!!!! I love my Mom dearly, but I have things I like to do.

I wish I had a quarter for every time that toll-free line has rung and it's been the fax trying to come through! I'd be up to a couple bucks by now!

I hate dialup! There. I said it. I hate dialup. *sticks tongue out at dialup* Neener neener neener!

I have tonight off. I thought I'd take advantage of it and print out some stuff quickly. But... quick is not an option tonight. This thing is anything but quick! I've managed to play several games of solitaire while waiting for pages to load.

I went to my neice's volleyball game today. She's in 8th grade. There were actually three games for each 7th & 8th grades. The 7th graders won one of their three games, but the 8th graders won all three of theirs. Cool!

Personally, I hate volleyball and will never play the game again. I equate the game with the word PAIN! But if my neice enjoys it, good! Someone has to enjoy it. It just ain't gonna be me.

Well, it's now about 10 minutes to midnight. I'm waiting for my Mom to come in here and tell me to get off the computer. But I still have 8 pages to print out! Man... they're taking forever to load!

I think I may just do one more page and call it a night, however. Dang. I was gonna type up some more story tonight. I am so forgetful....

Guess what!!! I'm at work and am bored again! What's new about that, eh? Nothing!!!

I am a little disappointed in my Musketeers. They haven't won a game since the opening night in the Tyson Events Center! Arrgh! This is one slightly disappointed hockey-loving Kitsune here. And another thing.... what's with ESPN not carrying the NHL this year?!?!?! That is so unfair to those of us that only get ESPN & ESPN2 for sports channels! *snort*

Speaking of unfair cable TV practices... I still want Cartoon Network! Maybe that would be the channel that would get me to change my TV from the Weather Channel.

Let's see... Oh,yeah... My parents have been back 2 whole days and already my mom is on my back about being on the computer all the time. Umm... since they've been back I've spent maybe a total of 4 hours on it. Most of those were Friday night because I didn't work that night and could get online at home. She just doesn't quite understand that I need to use the computer and be online as part of my chosen career path. How am I to design stuff for the internet if I shouldn't be on the computer? She has it in her mind that if I'm not helping her with quilts or doing what she likes to do, I'm not doing anything important. Now, don't get me wrong, I love my Mom and I like to do some of the things she does, but I need to keep up on my computer skills if I'm going to try to make a living at this web design thing.

Oh man... it's only 9:16 pm.... I'm here 'til midnight. This is so dull..... At least I have tomorrow off! Whee! Mom will want me to spend all day doing stuff she wants me to do, however. But at 9 pm I am going online!!!! I don't care what she says.

   Eyes tired... brain shutting down... must be bedtime

Well... I'm a bit tired tonight. I think it's from the movie. This type of thing happens to me when I see a movie and need new glasses. I end up really tired and feeling like someone just had their thumbs in my eyes for a couple hours.

My brother & I went to see Wallace and Grommit: the Curse of the Were-Rabbit today. I haven't laughed that hard in a movie in a long, long time. We've been fans of Wallace & Grommit for several years now and were excited to see that a movie was coming out. It's incredibly funny. There's also a short feature with the penguins from Madagascar. Also very funny. Mr. Chew is very scary.

I have been experiencing difficulties with IE again tonight. It is, however, running faster than Netscape. Go figure. I should do a repair on it before I go lose consciousness across the hall.

That's about it for my exciting life. My parents made it back from Maryland safely around 1:30 in the afternoon. Now I have to put up with my Mom making faces at me for being online like I am. She just doesn't understand that this thing called the Internet is closely tied to what I want to pursue as a career. Oh well....

   I'm wasting time....

I'm hanging out in Netscape tonight. Internet Exploiter was giving me grief. I've also not been paying attention to what I'm doing. I keep getting distracted by stuff other than what I thought I wanted to look at. For instance... I've been playing solitaire while waiting for email or pages to load. I've been forgetting about the email and concentrating on the games.

Interesting thing I've noticed here in Netscape: my horizontal lines don't show up.

Well, tonight is the last night I can stay up in here with the CD player going all night. My parents should be home tomorrow. They've been out in Maryland doing volunteer work for 6 months! It's gonna be odd having them back... at first anyways. But it will be nice to have someone get into the bathroom before me and get the hot water going in the mornings!

   Need to get to bed....

First off, let me apologize. I was going to try to visit everyone Wednesday, but ended up being called in to work. There was an unfortunate tragedy in the family of the girl that was working, so I got called in. It's very sad and I know that my coworker is really broke up about it. She's a very strong person, but this has got her in bad shape. So, everyone send warm thoughts toward Sioux City, IA, to Crystal for me. She needs the strength right now.

Second off, let me say this:

You guys really rock! I thank you from the bottom of my pancreas for sticking by me through all the craziness that's been going on for the last year and a few months.

Third off, let me say this. I wish I had something interesting to tell you, but I don't. Work was a bit hectic. The satellite connection for the computers was really wonky, so most of the time things weren't working quite the way they should have. I think the wild thunderboomies we had the previous night may have something to do with it.

---

I hate the telephone.

Well, I think I better go to bed. Oh, crap... I gotta go downstairs and get the sheets out of the dryer so I can make my bed and then I'll be able to go to sleep. I hope I get enough sleep tonight....

Yep. It's thunderstorms tonight. Whee!!! I've been watching the lightning through the windows here in the lobby. I'm so glad the front has finally come through and pulled the temperature down to something liveable!

I have a little over an hour left of work tonight and then it's three days in a row off!!! Wheee!!!! I am so tired. I get to do about 3 tons of laundry tomorrow, too. Double Wheee!!!!

I was going to post something incredibly witty, but I seem to have forgotten what it was. Oh well... I guess that's what happens when I am incredibly tired.

I was naughty today. I said I wasn't going to buy any manga until the end of October, but I bought 2 Kenshin books today! So very very naughty.... I must resist the urge to stay up all night reading them!

Stay tuned tomorrow, for I am going to put up something truly cool. It may not be until late in the evening, perhaps even dated the next day. It just depends on whether or not I get posting done before 11:00 p.m.

Well, I think I'm going to go do something mindless, like play Freecell until my brain cell oozes out my ear or I have to go home....whichever comes first.
