   Blah......

Monday night & I'm bored....

Yes, it's another thrilling night at the Quality Inn! It's been busy, but nowhere near as busy as the weekend. Yet, I am bored. Bored, and slightly headachy.

Well, then... It's hot again today. Really nasty humid hot. It's Autumn!!! It's not supposed to be this hot outside. I guess this is what's meant by "Indian Summer." I always thought that referred to the indigenous peoples of the North American continent, but the humidity has me thinking that it's referring to the climate of India. I feel slimey....

If you want to know how bored I am, I'm bored enough to look up diseases on the internet! Yes, I'm poking around WebMD to see what I can find out about horrible diseases. I should do something a little more constructive with my boredom.

I think I'll go look up some nasty bug now.

   Warning: Rant Zone!

The time: 9:19 pm CDT
The place: the Quality Inn, Sioux City, IA

Well... Saturday was absolutely horrific here at work. I got here to a lobby full of noisy little soccer players huddled around the computers. There was probably something like a dozen of them. Plus, the girl that I worked with was stressed out because several of the soccer families were complaining about their rooms. The problem was that they were put in smoking rooms and had requested non-smoking. There were no non-smoking rooms available... the housekeepers had left a bunch of rooms dirty because "they were tired." My coworker called them and got them back in to clean up those rooms. It ended up that there weren't quite enough non-smoking rooms available even after that because one of the rooms had some problem or another and it was unrentable. I think it took about 2 hours to get that straightened out. Then there was the wedding party going on back in the ballroom. They were pretty quiet, but the kids from that kept wanting to use the computers. We had to start to enforce the rule of being 16 or older to use the things. That rule kept the soccer players away. Then there was the lack of pool towels. I went looking for some back in the laundry room and found most of them in the washing machine.... STILL WET!!! So we used regular bath towels. It was an absolute madhouse. I didn't get hit on by any of the renfaire guys. Darn......

Another thing that got me a bit angry yesterday was the vehicle I was next to at a stop light on my way to work. A nice shiny Hummer H2. I drive a little Neon, so large vehicles annoy the crap out of me in the first place. But the thing that really burned me about this thing was the handicapped tag hanging from the rear-view mirror. I started to wonder just what handicap this person has and how much they're getting on disability to be able to afford an H2 and its gas. I paid $27 for just over 9 gallons today. The prices had been down a bit just until the past week or so. And then they shot up again. I'm so sick of this crap.

I am so tired. I haven't had a day off since last Tuesday. My next one off is Wednesday, and then I have three off in a row. I said the other day that I lost hours to the general manager's daughter because she lost her position as bartender when the bar got taken over by the new restaurant management. I don't mind so much that she's getting my hours. I just wish I would have had some warning that she was going to get them. I guess nepotism is alive and well here. I have to work with her Tuesday night. It's gonna be such a thrill. I wonder if she's supposed to be doing front desk stuff as well. Won't know the answer to that one until we get to Tuesday.

What month is this? October! Why is it so hot out? I'm sick of the hot weather!!!!! Oh, yeah, I'm in Iowa. We only have two seasons here: hot and cold.

I really should apologize for not visiting sites for so long. This schedule has made it a bit hard to get anywhere. By the time I get home after work, I'm too tired to even think. I can make it up the stairs and into bed. I haven't been online at home in three days. I stopped at the library briefly yesterday morning and that was it. I finally got to my email here at work and got partially caught up on it. The webmail for my ISP doesn't like HTML so some of the stuff won't come through. Then the computers here behind the desk are very very slow. Even slower than my dialup at home, if you can believe that!

I think I've ranted enough here. I just want to end this with a big Thank you!!!! to all of you for sticking with this crazy Kitsune during this time of not enough time. You guys rock!

Now I think it's time for me to find something else to do. I am in the midst of writing another part of the story. Hmm... maybe with three days off, I may be able to get some of it typed finally!!!!

The ranting has ended!

If we weren't all crazy, we would go insane!

Saturday morning.

Good day to you all! How are you doing today? I'm a bit tired, thank you. Work was nuts last night. We've got two soccer teams, two wedding parties and ren faire performers in the motel! Yeek! I did have one of the ren faire guys hit on me, which was flattering, but a little funny. Tonight is going to be about the same. Hopefully, I won't have to drag a slightly broken down rollaway bed around... I still feel a bit achy from doing that last night.

Well, it's a nice day outside and I need to get to the post office. So I will leave you all with a wish for a nice happy Saturday!

   So sorry....

Friday morning.

I am so sorry... I didn't post at all yesterday. However, you didn't miss much. I didn't have that exciting a day. I watched a TV show that I taped Tuesday night. I went to Sioux City early and ended up at Barnes & Noble reading Kenshin #18 and Fullmetal Alchemist #2. Then it was off to work. Yippee.

Of course I have to work again tonight. I'm in the middle of 7 days in a row. Ick! Then, starting next Wednesday, I have 3 days off in a row. I seem to have lost some hours next week. I'm a little miffed at where they went. The manager's daughter is getting some of what I had been getting. Oh well, I guess I shouldn't complain, but it just sort of burns my ass.

Well, I think I better get back home. I'm at the library and they're gonna want to close for lunch here in a bit. I'm gonna go online at home before I have to go to work, so I'll do some more nosing about then.

Additional: It's now almost 2:00 pm... I was going to go visit sites and such, but got distracted by Kenshin. Heck, who wouldn't be distracted by him?! *ahem* Anyhoo... I was reading volume three and found myself noticing Aoshi's hair. It got me to thinking... What happened to Aoshi's hair?

We start out with this. A rather silly way of styling one's hair, I must say.

Then a little bit later, it looks like this. Still a little silly looking, but not as bad as the first picture.

Then, finally, it looks like this. It looks much better. More natural. It stays this way pretty much from then on.

All right. I started to really think about what happened to Aoshi's hair after this. Then it hit me.

He ran out of styling gel!!!!

That's the only thing that could have happened! Either that, or Han'nya told him he looked silly....

I better think about getting ready for work.

I'll be mellow when I'm dead!

Wednesday night and my ability to type has gone to sleep before the rest of me.

Well, I worked the early shift today. I hate working 7 to 3! I have to get up at 4:45 to be able to get ready and there in time! What made it worse is that I woke up at 4:00 and had to go to the bathroom! Arrgh.

The drive was sucky. It was dark and it was rainy. So every idjit on the road wanted to try to drive through my car. I swear I saw only headlights in my rearview mirror most of the way to Sioux City!

Work itself wasn't too bad. The general manager had coupons for three free pizzas, so we had pizza for lunch. Yummy, but I'm a bit pizza-ed out now. I think I'm definitely gonna eat the lunch I made for today tomorrow night. I'm getting a little sick of fast food

Well, I actually got some more done on the story at work! I just need to sit down and type it up so I can post it for you guys!

Now all I have to do is get my arse in gear and do some drawing!

Apologies from this one for not visiting sites, but I really am to the point where my eyes are starting to lose focus. I'm glad I don't work until 4:00 tomorrow afternoon!

Another week begins....and so does the evil....

Monday afternoon.

Yes...it's Monday and I have to work. I don't wanna, but it's nice to get a paycheck every couple of weeks. Hopefully tonight won't be quite so boring. Last night was rather dull. I do have tomorrow off, though. Whee!

Have you ever had one of those days where things just don't want to cooperate? I think that is what is going on with me. I got online around 12:15 this afternoon and was going to read email and get on MSN Messenger to see who was about. Well, Messenger decided that it didn't want to work, and Outlook was taking up too much resources on the computer. I restarted the beast and Messenger still didn't want to work. So I uninstalled it and am now downloading it again. *sigh* It's just 2:00 now and it's 90% downloaded. Hopefully that last 10% will show up in the next half hour! I gotta get ready for work at 2:30!

Well, here's an update about the people that were arrested at the motel. Eight people have been arrested and charged with varying levels of fraud for posing as victims of Hurricane Katrina. The article in the paper the other day said the investigation is still going on.

Well, I think I may wander off now. I've been reading Kenshin while waiting for pages to load and the download to finish, so I may go back to that now. Oooh... 95% done! Whee!!!

   Almost but not quite asleep....

Well, by the clock it's Sunday now.

Well, the hockey game has come and gone. We won! It was a really good game. I have a little bit of a sore throat from yelling. The final score was Sioux City Musketeers 5; "Omaha" Lancers 3! I put quotes around Omaha there because the team is actually in Council Bluffs!!!!

As promised in the last post, here are some pictures from the zoo.

This is a fuzzy red flower on some tree in the Desert Dome. I don't know what type of tree it is, but the flower is really cool.

This is a purple flower that I saw over by the Orangutan Forest. I thought it was really pretty.

This is a bobcat. He was sort of sleepy looking.

This is a jaguar. He was pacing around the enclosure and then flopped down and promptly took this pose for us.

And finally, a truly dignified pose out of a Siberian Tiger. This just goes to show you that cats will be comfortable no matter what the size.

Well, I think the adrenaline rush from the game has worn off now. That means I should go wander across the hall and snooze. Maybe that will help get the kink out of the back....

Too tired to come up with any paranoid delusions

Early Saturday morning and I should be in bed.

Well, my brother & I went to the zoo in Omaha. I took a few pictures. However, in my tired state of being, I left the camera downstairs and don't have the energy to go down and get it. I'll try to get pictures up as soon as possible. Probably won't be until Sunday, as there's a hockey game Saturday night that I'm gonna go to! I can't wait!

Well, I think I may have to go to bed here. My eyes are dry and itchy. I think staring at the inside of my eyelids for several hours is a really good idea.

There are no mutant, albino alligators in the sewers!

Friday morning...

Yesterday: work was boring beyond belief. But it went fast...

Today: don't have to work!!! Will be going to Omaha in a little while to go to the zoo. Yay!

Tomorrow: don't have to work again! Also opening night for the Musketeers! Woohoo!

I'm at the library and it's been invaded by rugrats! Eeek! Time for me to duck out while what's left of my sanity is intact.
