Aliens do not broadcast on short wave radio!

Thursday afternoon. Almost time for work.

Just a quick post before I have to get ready for work. I did get a halfway decent night of sleep. I went to bed a bit after 11:30 last night and slept pretty well until the thunderstorm hit around 2:00. It was loud and flashy, but I ended up falling asleep again after a little while.

I have tomorrow and Saturday off. Two in a row!!! On a weekend, even! My brother & I are going to go to Omaha to the zoo tomorrow. The weather should be great for it. A cool front went through and the temperatures are supposed to be only in the low 70s. Yay! Then on Saturday, it's the opening night for the local hockey team. I'm so excited about hockey starting up again... both at the level we have here and on the professional level. I felt so empty without the NHL last year.

I did a little editing last night after I posted. I had originally mentioned a few more details about what happened at the motel with the people posing as evacuees. Then I decided that I should leave some details out. Now that I've read the comments, I realize that many of you had read the original post. So... I'll put this much back in: I had to do a photo lineup to try to identify some of them. Like I said, exciting but a little scary at the same time.

Some quizzes I did the other night. I found one of them on katocool's site and things got a little out of hand after that. Sorry, but they'll probably go over Kenshin's face.... I'm not in the mood to mess with the HTML to get them to be smaller.

   I have not seen Elvis!

Wednesday night... 11:00 pm.

I've been up since 4:45 am.... my brain is beginning to shut down. I'm having trouble typing!

Well, I was expecting a rather dull day at work, but it got a little interesting late in the morning. Yesterday I mentioned the fact that there are people out there defrauding the Red Cross by posing as evacuees from Hurricane Katrina. Well, there were some more in the motel. The girl I was working with called the cops about it and they came down and arrested a bunch of them. It was kind of exciting. A lot more exciting than reading my E-commerce book.

Well, I think I am going to go to bed now. I'm very tired and a little loopy... It's been a long, long day. Sorry I didn't hit sites tonight.

The Orbital Mind Control Satellites are not monitoring my every move!

Tuesday night & time for a quick post.

Well, work was incredibly boring last night. I only took the van out three times: to get office supplies, to get food and to pick up a couple railroaders at the yard. Whee....

There was an interesting development at the motel the other day. It turns out that some of the people claiming to be evacuees from Hurricane Katrina weren't even from the area that was hit! They were locals defrauding the Red Cross. That's just wrong. Hopefully these people will be prosecuted for fraud. If I hear anything else, I'll let you know what's happened.

Well, I gotta run tonight. I have to work the 7 to 3 shift tomorrow. That means I gotta get up at 4:45 to be able to get ready in time. That sucks...

School buses are not out to get me!!

Monday afternoon...

Well, it did get thunderboomy last night. Just not in Sioux City while I was there. I saw some really cool lightning as I was driving home. A couple miles south of Kingsley I drove over hail. I just missed the storm. Yay. I don't think I'd like driving in a hailstorm.

Not much is going on here right now. I gotta go get ready for work in a few minutes. Yippee!! More driving!!! I don't mind it at all. Last night as I was taking one of the railroad guys back to the yard, he wanted to stop at the grocery store. In front of the store I saw a girl I used to work with at the bookstore. She was really puzzled at first, but when she recognized me she was surprised. I was happy to see her, too, 'cause I'd been wondering if she had gotten her degree. She did and has a nice job now. I'm happy for her.

Well, I'd better get going here. I have to figure out what to wear tonight. If I get incredibly bored at work tonight, I'll try to visit sites. However, the connection on the computers there is an incredibly slow dialup connection, so I may end up beating my head on the counter in frustration. But whatever....

The Mole People are not attacking!!!!

A haiku....

Sunday, 8:00 p.m.
I am starting to get bored.
I take a drink of Coke.

Well. I got through Saturday fairly intact. Had about a half-hour of overtime thanks to a late-in-the-shift run to the railyard. The guys wanted to go to the grocery store, and a train forced me to take the long way to the store. Oh well... overtime is nice. More money.

If I had half a brain, I'd remember who asked me how tall I am in the comments the other day. I'm 5'8" tall. That's about 1.7 meters for you metric people. Yes, I am a tall person. I have a short car. You would be greatly entertained watching me get out of my car sometimes. Especially if I'm wearing my seriously stompy shoes - the Sketchers with the inch thick soles - and am also trying to manipulate the full satchel that I carry around. It's even more entertaining watching my brother get in and out of my car. He's 6'2"!

The weather is trying to get thunderboomy at us tonight. I just went and looked at the radar loop on my coworker's laptop. Home is getting rained on. I don't think it's raining here in Sioux City yet. I'll have to go out in a bit to take a few guys back to the railyard so they can go back to work. Haha!

I may have more story for you guys here in a day or so. I have some that hasn't been typed up yet, and it's been a month since I last had anything up. It's gonna make for even longer looking posts now that I changed the layout. Oh, well.. just deal with it. *grin*

Nothing else is coming to mind here, so I will bid y'all adieu. Have a good week!

   Truckin'.......

Late Friday evening, despite the Saturday listed up above.

Well, I had today off. It was nice. I could actually do stuff with my brother on his usual day off. We were thinking of going to the zoo in Omaha, but both of us realized we needed to get sleep instead of getting up early to drive down there. So we went to Sioux City and took pictures of the thing in front of the art museum. We also went to our favorite comic book store, which happens to be the one that got the top award at Comic-con in 2004! Then it was off to Staples and then KFC for food. We stopped at Wal-Mart and wandered there for a while and hit the Blue Bunny Ice Cream Shop that's in there. It's been about 5 hours and I still feel stuffed from that ice cream cone! We then wandered Target for a bit and came home. So, here I am. Goofing off online. Yay!

Here are some pictures of the thing in front of the art museum.

Okay... the first one is the thing with the art museum in the background. The second one is inside the thing looking through the doors. The third one is looking up at the pointy part on the right in the first picture. I had to get the sun behind it or I would have been blinded. The last picture is yours truly standing in one of the doors.

Well, I hope you enjoyed the pictures of the thing. I think there's a name for it, but I don't remember what it is. It's made out of sticks, by the way.

I gotta work tomorrow night. *sigh* Saturdays are sort of busy, so they usually fly by relatively quickly.

   Come, hear Uncle John's Band....

Well, 'tis just past midnight, so that means it's officially Thursday. My how time flies...

I didn't do much on Wednesday. Slept almost 'til 10. Did laundry. Made a phone call. Should have done some drawing or writing, but did neither. Worked a very little bit on Japanese.

My brother & I went down to Moville for sandwiches at Subway. I had a Cold Cut Trio... yummy! He had a Deli Round sandwich and was charged way too much!!! The guy charged him for a kid's meal plus the chips and drink. Not fair! The really sucky thing was that the people working there couldn't do anything about the overcharging.

Well, I think I'm gonna wander off. I need to update a couple things here for my anti-spyware software and may run that before I go to bed. Also, I gotta put laundry away and make my bed. Blah...

   Success!!!!!

As you can see, I finally got the paragraph width thing figured out. It took a while and a lot of looking, but the second book had what I was looking for.

Now if only something exciting would happen. I'm at work and am almost bored. I've been to Wendy's twice and McDonald's once. That's it. Whee....

How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop?

Three...

'Tis Tuesday afternoon and my head has a slightly squeezy feeling about it. Sinuses are stuffy, too. And yet, I must go to work this afternoon. I've worked 5 days in a row now and have tomorrow off! Yay! I think I will spend a portion of the day asleep. And another portion doing laundry.

Well, I'm grateful that y'all are being patient with me as I whip this site into some sort of shape. My current goal is to get the width of these posts narrowed a bit so the words don't go over Kenshin. It just bugs me that he ends up with writing on his face. I think I'll take the other CSS books with me to work tonight to see if I can make any headway with them. I will have to eventually get them back to the library. *sigh*

I really should do some other stuff besides sleep and laundry tomorrow. I still have those pictures to finish for that one job I applied for! I've also got a picture that my Mom wants me to draw for someone out in Maryland. Plus I haven't written on the story in ages!!! Arrgh! I'm so bad!

I may be bad, but I'm also easily entertained. Or it just may be the slight headache that made me find this entertaining:

Well, I think I am going to wander off now. I have this sudden urge to go to the library in Sioux City, which means I should get ready for work and then take off so I can get there early enough to do something before having to go to work.

   Still under construction!

Monday evening... at the motel.

Well, I'm still mucking about with the CSS for this lovely change that I'm putting my site through. I've been getting a little frustrated and am almost ready to give up, but I will not let it get the best of me! I will show it who's boss! Grrrr!!! I am Kitsune, hear me yip!*

My last couple of days haven't been too terribly exciting. Just working. After the weekend, it's been pretty quiet around here.

The other day I mentioned the refrigerator was having issues & Caprice asked if the issue was emptiness. Well, no, that wasn't it at all. The issue was that it had frozen up and the refrigerator part wasn't working at all! We had to get rid of the half gallon of milk that was there. Hopefully the batch of dairy products I bought the other night after work will have survived by being stashed in a cooler with ice all over it for a couple days.

The other excitement at the house today was the installation of new carpeting on the front steps. I lead such an exciting life....

Well, I think I will wander off now. I'm rapidly getting bored and must find something interesting to do. Mayhaps I'll drag out the Japanese and play with that for a bit.

Laters!

*Well...using CSS on paragraphs resulted only in making the profile area humongously wide and that's something I definitely don't want to have going on here. More research must be done!
