   I am such an idiot!

MONDAY!!!!

I have a request of a few people: I know that MiasmaMoon, metal-inuyasha and one other person whose name escapes me voted on my newest picture yesterday. Could you all go and vote again, please? I had to delete the picture and repost it! I was such an idiot and forgot one teeny tiny little detail and had to rescan it!

I can't believe I forgot to put the kanji for fire on his left arm!!! *smacks self in head with sakabato for being so baka!*

Okay, now you're all sitting around, going, "She's lost it. Getting so worked up about a tiny little thing like that!"

In my defense, I say this: I'm a frickin' perfectionist when it comes to pictures of Hikaru!!!

Otherwise... the day was uneventful. Spent most of it reading Kenshin manga. Did have the interview at the mall in the afternoon. I have no clue how it went. I never can tell how interviews go.

My brother was nice and took me to Sioux City for the interview. That way I didn't have to worry about running out of gas in Onigiri! I still don't know about the transmission issue... I'm almost afraid to know what's going on with it.

Oh! I have something a bit different for you tonight. Instead of asking me a question, my brother has agreed to answer questions. So go ahead and ask him anything! Once I get the questions all together, I'll get them to him and get the answers.

Here's a picture of him for you:

Well, that wraps it up for tonight. I'm off to run the anti-spyware stuff now. Virus-scan will be done tomorrow, as it takes over two hours to run.

I can't think of a thing to say here!

Sunday night and my brain cell has melted!

    Today's accomplishments:
  • Played Kirby's Star Stacker on my GBA. Didn't hit something right and the color showed up as brown. Ick.

  • Ate food a couple times.

  • Watched a lot of TV.

  • While watching TV, did a lot of searching through several of my drawing books for reference pictures for a drawing.

  • Actually drew the picture I was looking for reference stuff on.

  • Scanned the picture in & posted it to my fanart section. Go look, please.

  • Posted here.

Yes, there is new artwork up! It's another Hikaru picture. If you've been reading the story, you'll know all about the silver skin, but the flames haven't shown up yet. I'm giving you a sneak preview of something that hasn't happened yet! Whee!!!

The one thing with the picture that worried me most was getting the silver color to come across right. I think it didn't turn out too bad.

Well, that burst of creativity and watching TV until 10:00 sure cut into my online time. So, I apologize for not hitting sites again tonight. As long as "Dead Zone" is on USA on Sundays, I'll be watching TV until 10:00. That's definitely one of my favorite shows.

Additional: the Sioux City Bandits beat the Omaha Beef 47 to 41 last night. *sigh* I was actually pulling for the Beef, even though I live closer to Sioux City now. I've been to a few Beef games and have developed the loyalty to them. Oh well....

I wonder how the football game is going...

Saturday night & the Sioux City Bandits are playing the Omaha Beef.

Well. I had a truly exciting day. *tries to say that agian, but with a straight face* It was movie day today! We went to see Fantastic Four. It was a lot of fun. My brother was worried that it wasn't going to live up to the hype. My problem was with the guy that played Reed Richards. I've seen him in a bunch of movies about the Napoleonic Wars, so he's that character in my mind first. But in the end, we were both impressed and enjoyed it a bunch. My brother puts it as being equal to Batman Begins for the best movie of the summer... so far. And we both thought that was better than Revenge of the Sith. After the movie was over, I told my brother I was probably the only one in the theater that knows how to pronounce the name of the guy that played Reed: Ioan Gruffudd. He agreed with me.

Well, it is now official. I have a shiny new logo to use after passing my test yesterday. Here it is:

Well, that's about it, peoples. Nothing else is going on right now. I have a list of very important stuff that came up after yesterday that I have to do one of these days, really soon. The resumé needs updating again.... *sigh*

My ear hurts....

Would it be called progress, teaching a cannibal the use of knife and fork? -- Ogden Nash

Friday night and time for strange quotes.

Well, it's been a long day. It's just about 11:30 pm right now and I've been up since shortly after 7:00 am. *yawns*

I went to Omaha today to take that certification test and for a little interview. I passed the test and will hopefully have a shiny new logo to put with my name now! The little interview seemed to go fairly well. I can never tell how interviews go. It's so hard to determine sometimes. I do have an interview for a job in the mall in Sioux City on Monday. Hopefully my car won't freak out on the way there!

My car seems to be having transmission issues. Great. I have no job... I don't need the transmission to go out on the thing! Please send warm healing thoughts to Onigiri, the Neon.

And in celebration of my new certification, I give you the following:

You know you're a redneck jedi when...

  • You hear . . . "Luke, I am your father... and your uncle..."

  • You ever said the phrase, "May the force be with y'all."

  • Your Jedi robe is camouflage.

  • You have ever used your light saber to open a bottle of Bud Light.

  • At least one wing of your X-Wings is primer colored.

  • You can easily describe the taste of an Ewok.

  • You have ever had a land-speeder up on blocks in your yard.

  • The worst part of spending time on Dagobah is the dadgum skeeters.

  • Wookiees are offended by your B.O.

  • You have ever used the force to get yourself another beer so you didn't have to wait for a commercial.

  • You have ever used the force in conjunction with fishing or bowling.

  • You have ever had your R-2 unit use its self-defense electro-shock thingy to get the barbecue grill to light up.

  • You have a confederate flag painted on the hood of your land-speeder.

  • You ever fantasized about Princess Leia wearing Daisy Duke shorts.

  • You have the doors of your X-wing welded shut and you have to get in through the window.

  • Although you had to kill him, you kinda thought that Jabba the Hutt had a pretty good handle on how to treat his women.

  • You have a cousin who bears a strong resemblance to Chewbacca.

  • You suggested that they outfit the Millennium Falcon with redwood deck.

  • You were the only person drinking Jack Daniels during the cantina scene.

  • Your father has ever said to you, "Shoot, son come on over to the dark side...it'll be a hoot."

Too tired to hit all sites. Sorry! Must get sleep....

   I should go to sleep....

Thursday night and I'm sleepy. I guess my wacked out sleep schedule has caught up with me.

What can I say? My own personal Thursday was pretty dull. I started the day out feeling a little out of it. Tried to get a migraine, but it didn't manifest itself. Yay! I did spend much of the day slightly out of it and in a slight bit of pain. I must have slept weird, for I awoke with a sore shoulderblade area. It's still a bit tender.

I didn't hit too many sites today. Sorry. I am actually going to be going offline before midnight tonight! Yep... it's amazing! I am off to Omaha for a certification test and a job interview. Eeek.

How do I feel? Good question.

Wednesday is ending now. What is in store for me tomorrow? Who can tell?

Yep. Another Wednesday is coming to a close. I did not do anything important today. I didn't feel like working at Java or doing any last-minute cramming for the test Friday. I just did some more writing and then came up here and pretended to know what I was doing with potential website stuff. That's it. That's my exciting life, people. How can I stand it? I have no idea.

I did do some stuff in CorelDraw & CorelPhotopaint. I made my kanji KitsuneTsuki green and a new fox logo. Oooh... cool. That's about it. Here's the fox:

I need to do something constructive....

   I am the Lemon Merchant!

Tuesday is almost over and I still haven't found my pet ping pong ball.

Yes, it's time for y'all to start wondering about my sanity! Whee!!!!

I had a pretty uneventful day. Started out with a touch of a headache, so no Java was attempted. Also, I had to do laundry. When will it ever end?

While doing my laundry, I went through a manilla folder of stuff that I found in a bag in my bedroom. It was full of all sorts of stuff that I don't fully remember why it's there in the first place. But I did find a little thing I did online way back on 10 May 2000! It's from a website that doesn't exist anymore, which is a dirty rotten shame! And now for your enjoyment and possible revulsion... I present the following:

The Van Dueseldorfs Visit Ptomaine World

One day, while Spike and Booger were watching Binky Boy on TV, Otto came home from his job as President of the USA and said, "I have an idea! Let's take a trip to the Tapeworm-o-rama this Saturday!"

"No!" yelled Spike and Booger. "We wanna go to Ptomaine World instead! Can we, Otto? Can we please, please, with whipped cream on top?" they asked with big, pleading eyes.

"Oh, all right," answered Otto resignedly.

'Wow, that was easy! What a Dead-meat,' thought Booger and Spike to themselves as they smiled sweetly at Otto. And as Otto bent down to accept a grateful kiss from the two wonderful children, they ran back to the TV to watch Binky Boy. Otto can be nice and generous, but next to Binky Boy, he was dog meat.

Finally the big day came and at the Ptomaine World entrance booth, Trixie and Otto were surprised to find that they had to take out a loan at Hans, the Unfriendly Bacterium's Finance Company to buy tickets for the whole family. But once inside the park, the kids stopped crying. Boy, was it ever crowded!

They got in line at Washing Machine Mountain, and were excited to know that soon they would be zooming along in a ride that lets the riders feel 344 times the crushing G-force felt by astronauts lifting off in the Space Shuttle. How funny Otto and Trixie would look as their eyeballs nearly pop out of their sockets!

After only a 23 hour wait in line, it was the Van Dueseldorf's turn to experience Washing Machine Mountain! Unfortunately, they were told by the uniformed high school kids who work as carnies that the kids were to small and couldn't ride. As they left Washing Machine Mountain, Spike and Booger stopped howling long enough to see Otto make a strange gesture with his appendix at the carnies. This was reported to the clean-cut security men wearing blazers, flat tops, and hearing-aid style walkie-talkies who kept an eye on silly old Otto for the rest of their stay.

The Van Dueseldorfs then rode the Spine Biter, the Stomach Pumper, the Head Slammer, the Bone Eater, and even the Criminally Insane Chiropractor!

But even though the kids were bruised, sore, cranky and crying when they left, the very next day the were asking Otto over and over and over when they could go back to visit their favorite place on earth... Ptomaine World!

Well, there you have it. A glimpse into just how twisted I can get when it comes to Mad-libs. For the sake of your own sanity, don't ever get me to do Mad-libs with you if I'm in a particularly bizarre mood.

Well, the excitement for me this week will be Friday. I'm gonna go to Omaha to take another certification test, and hopefully talk to a guy about a job! Eeek!

Well, that is about it for tonight. Be happy!

Another holiday winds to a close....

Monday...the 4th of July.

Sparks of golden light
Shine in the night and burn small
Pinpricks in my hand.
I see a comet's tail of sparks
Moving around and around.

My fireworks for the night: a package of sparklers I mooched off my sister.

Apologies to those on dialup. I know it takes a long time to load up. And the poem is a tanka... the first three lines are commonly known as haiku, my personal favorite type of poem to write.

Hope everyone had a safe, happy Fourth of July!

   *Subject line removed for study*

Sunday's post brought to you by the letter X.

Well, another exciting Sunday has passed me by. I did very little of importance today. My brother & I tried to go for a walk, but it didn't last very long because of the humidity. It had been a little nicer out earlier and the weather changed on us! How dare it!

Tomorrow is the holiday. I've got nothing terribly exciting planned. We're gonna go over to our sister's house for supper. Yummy! I will probably do a load of laundry during the day. Whee. I don't know about fireworks. I don't know where any are going to be set off. I'd really like to go see some somewhere, but there's practically no gas in my car & I have no money to fill it up.

Well, since nothing exciting happened, I'm going to treat y'all with a story. But... there's always a 'but'... *mental image has been censored*

*clears throat* Let's try that again.

I'm going to treat y'all with a story, but it's not the one you're expecting. This is another one that has been bouncing around in my head for a long long time and I had started to write ages ago. But I am not terribly happy with how that version is going, so I started a prequel to it. If I like how the prequel turns out, it may end up being the main story and what I've got done may be scrapped and/or included in this one.

Well, now that my intro to the story has become long winded, here's the story...

Michael knew the safe was in the office on the ground floor of the old stone house. He had cased the house earlier in the week while posing as a member of the cleaning crew. The challenge now was going to be getting into the office while a party was going on in the house.

Michael Fitzhugh Domenico was a thief. He had chosen the profession mainly out of defiance. His father was a Spanish diplomat; his mother, a Welsh heiress. His family had money, but he thrived on the thrill of the heist. He never really needed any of the things he stole.

Michael adjusted his tie before entering the ballroom. This was his element. He charmed his way around the room, chatting up whomever he could, all the while moving ever closer to the office. Eventually he made it to the office and snuck in. The safe was behind the desk. He pulled on a pair of gloves before carefully removing the painting that covered the safe and setting it on the floor. He smiled as he recognized the safe as being one that was not too difficult to crack. The proper tools were in his pockets and he proceeded to open the safe.

Inside the safe, he found papers. Nothing but papers. Michael sat at the desk and glanced through what he had found. Nothing terribly interesting here, he thought. What a disappointment. The light in the office came on as he was putting things back into the safe. He froze.

“Very good, Mister Domenico,” said the man at the light switch. “We’ve been waiting for you to drop by and check out our little safe.”

Michael turned slowly to face the man. “Was this some kind of set up?” he asked.

“It was every kind of set up. Have a seat.” The man pointed to the chair behind the desk. “Let’s talk.”

Michael sat at the desk. “Talk about what?”

The man came over to the desk and sat across from Michael. “Your future. What we say here will determine that for you. Interested in what I have to offer?”

“Tell me first and then I’ll decide.”

The man smiled. “All right. What would you say if I told you we’ve had our eye on you for quite a while?”

Michael said nothing.

“Very well,” the man said with a laugh, “I understand your silence. Now, here’s the pitch, as the Americans say. We would like you to work for us.”

“Who is ‘us’?”

“The government.”

Michael laughed. “The government wants me. What a joke!”

“But it isn’t a joke, Mister Domenico. British Intelligence has use for someone with your skills.”

“British Intelligence. Now I know you’re joking.”

“I am not joking. I am deadly serious. I am giving you a choice. Either work for us, or go to jail for burglary. Imagine how that would make your parents feel. Imagine the embarrassment.” His smile lost all warmth.

Michael thought about what his parents would say if he was caught stealing. Even though he wasn’t on the best terms with them due to his wild university days, he knew the stigma of having a son in prison would be devastating. “All right,” he said. “You win. I’ll play your little game and work for you.”

“Very good,” the man said. “Welcome aboard. Be at this address Monday morning at 0700. Your training starts then.” He handed Michael a business card. “Now go back out there and mingle.”

All right... this one is totally different than the one about Sam & Hikaru! I'll have more of that one in a few days. Eventually this one will have pages of its own and a link like the other one.

Well, I actually got through sites of all who posted on 7/3/05! I feel so good about that!

   Joims! Joims killed the Maaatians!

Saturday night's post brought to you by the Brooklyn School of Fine Aats production of "Da Woahh of da Woilds"

Sorry... old Saturday Night Live reference there.

We went to see War of the Worlds today. Man, that was a good movie! It's definitely on my list of movies I want on DVD. The effects were great. Tom Cruise is nice to look at for a couple hours. Dakota Fanning did a wonderful job! It's been ages since I read the book, but there were things in the movie that are in the book. They did a good job of bringing it to the modern age. I'd still like to see it done in the original setting sometime.

I'm still having some issues with the computer. IE has been behaving for the most part tonight. I'm just a bit tired and easily frustrated by it again. I'm gonna do a few of the utilities after I'm done here. Which means I'll be able to get some writing done!

My brother's idea for taking care of the computer: Back stuff up on floppy disks and wipe the drive clean and start over. We've now got 25 floppies and a 32 MB flash drive, which is about 68 MB of space total. It's not enough and is going to take forever. I don't know about this...

Well, apologies again for missing sites tonight. I'll try to get to sites tomorrow if I haven't gone completely out of my head by then.
