Umm.... Grrr? (Warning: LONG post ahead!)
As my friend eddy would put it, "Don't mess with me, I'm in a pissy mood!"
That pretty much sums up the past couple of days for me.
Um, let's see... when was the last time I actually posted something of some content? Thursday, I think. So, let's do a little catching up, eh?
Friday: had to work from 2 to 10. Yeah, weird hours, but we had a Regulation Butt-Load of reservations for that night and we needed to double up on people that can work behind the desk and actually have a clue as to what to do. It wasn't too bad a night, except for the part where my supper got the best of me. I spilled pop on me as I was leaving the fast food joint where I got the food. I got grease on me as I was trying to carry the bag into the motel. I got ketchup on me as I was fighting with a packet to augment the flavor of the fries. What really sucks is that I washed the shirt the day before! By the way, I was able to get most of the ketchup out before it ended up looking awful. The grease, however, is still there. I hope it will go away when I wash again on Thursday.
Saturday: DAY OFF!!!!!! It was hot out. After one of my previous weeks of laundry doing, I put my shorts away, thinking that I wouldn't need them again. Hahahahaha!!!!! It was around 90 degrees outside. Guess what I had to pull out of the dresser? Yep. My shorts! So, what did I do with that wonderful day off? I went to a renaissance fair. It was fun. Was very glad that it was windy to keep the heat down a little bit. Didn't buy anything except a bottle of Gatorade. Didn't even take my camera along. We spent about an hour and a half there. Saw some really cool stuff that I wouldn't mind having. Saw some Akita dogs. I never realized how big they were. They were cute. After the ren-fair we went to the photo place so I could pick up my pictures, which I swear I will post over on deviantArt one of these days. These are the pictures from the trip to the park a couple weeks ago. Then we went over to the mall for Chik-fil-A sandwiches. Yummy! Hadn't had that for a long time. After the mall... HOCKEY!!!! Yeah, hockey season started Saturday. We played the Lincoln Stars. After two periods, we were behind 2-0, but had 3 unanswered goals in the 3rd period! Unfortunately the Stars got a tying goal and it went into overtime. Overtime ended with us still tied at 3-3, so that meant we had to go to a shootout! We won that! It was great. I did learn one thing... I shouldn't wear my Musketeers jersey with shorts. When I sat down, I ended up looking like I didn't have any pants on!
Sunday: work. It was oddly busy for a Sunday. I had a lot of stuff to do that prevented me from even thinking about cracking open my laptop. Just a lot of busy work... and construction guys. A bunch of construction guys checked in. Oh yeah, and the van broke down. Had to call for a taxi for people that we normally shuttle in our van.
Monday: If ever there was a day where I wanted to scream "Do over!" all lot, Monday was it. I was supposed to work from 4 to 12, but was called to work from 3 to 11. My brother-in-law came over to see if I could sit with my sister while he had a doctor's appointment. I said I had to work and was having problems with my allergies and asthma. He got mad and left. Got to work and the van was still gone. Had to call taxis again. There was a lot of mix-ups with which taxi was for which guys and it was confusing for a while. Had more construction guys check in. Some of them are really nice. Some are a big pain. One of the railroad guys was a pain. He came down for coffee around 4:00 and there wasn't any there. The little psycho made a crack about the day shift to him. Later this same railroad guy went off on a tyrade about how horrible he gets treated. I feel sorry for anyone that has to work with the guy. Nothing on this planet will ever make him happy. Then there was the guy who was really nice and gave one of the railroaders his taxi and ended up waiting an hour for another one. SUX is not that big that it should take an hour for a taxi to arrive. The guest that waited was really nice to me about it all and we ended up joking about taxis the rest of the night.
Tuesday: Worked again. Still no van. As usual had to work with the little psycho. Had a little go around with him as he questions everything I ask him to do. I asked him why and he said I'm not in charge. Um, excuse me, my name is on the wall as "Manager on Duty", not his. He's just a bellman. He's not trained to check people in (and never will be). He's not the one that is capable of answering phone calls correctly. He's not the one that takes reservations. I'm the one whose name is on the wall and is in charge. I told him that if he didn't want to do anything he could just go home because there was no van. He got mouthy with me and said I should be the one to leave. Um, see what I said above about whose name is on the wall and what it means and what he's capable of doing around there. I called the manager (she was in a different building) and she said if he had a problem with me, he should go talk to her. I sent him over to talk to her and he was quiet for a while. She's still going to have a big talk with him about the problem with his mouth. He runs off at it. See what I said about his comments about the day staff on Monday. I am the only one that he questions or mouths off to at work and I am damned sick of it. Frankly, I'm damn sick of working with the runt. If I had another job, I would be gone from that place so fast, people's heads would spin.
Wednesday: well, it's barely Wednesday, as the time is currently 1:26 am according to the litte clock in the corner of my screen. I really should be going to bed as my eyes are starting to dry out. Also, I think someone is going to be here around 8:00 to finish off the light fixture in the bathroom. Yes, the bathroom is almost finished! Woohoo! I have to work from 4 to 12 tonight. The van is supposed to be back tomorrow. If not, I think I will cry. Just kidding! ... Maybe. *grin* So that's it from a rather long-winded, mostly tired Kitsune.
Laters!
