   Look! It's the Stanley Cup!!

That's my brother on the left & me on the right. What an experience. I got to see the Holy Grail of Hockey! I got to touch it!!! I even got the autograph of the hockey player that brought it to Sioux City, Iowa! Yes, Ruslan Fedotenko of the Tampa Bay Lightning brought the Cup to Sioux City. He played for the Sioux City Musketeers in the 1998-1999 season. How cool is that?

My brother & I got to the Tyson Center (the new auditorium) between 12:30 and 1:00 to get in line to see the Cup at 2:00. We were standing there for about 2 hours when the auditorium staff came out and gave us numbered tickets and told us there was a delay and the Cup wouldn't be there until later...the doors would open at 5:00. The ticket was to guarantee our place in line when we got back later. No problem. We went over to the hotel where my brother works and sat there for a while and returned to the auditorium around 4:00. Then we stood in line outside for another hour or so before being let in the building a bit after 5:00. The Cup was still not there!!!! There was a winding line of people waiting inside. We waited there for at least another hour for the Cup to arrive. Then the line started to move! It was probably another half hour or so until we got up on the platform to see the Cup and Ruslan. We were afraid we wouldn't be able to get there because of the time limit involved. But....we were lucky enough to get onto the ramp up to the platform before they cut off the line. It was great.... one of the auditorium guys took the picture. Then we got the autograph! I wish I'd gotten a picture of Ruslan for you to see, but all I got was pictures of the back of his head. I'm waiting to see what my brother got for pictures. Hopefully his pictures turned out.
