Monday night...
All the crops are rotting raw
All the days we march to order
All the men are sent to war
Guard we must the country's border
All the grasses black become
All the soldiers with disease
How was our good will undone?
What has made us ill at ease?
On the plains no tigers found
Oxen too have fled from sight
Saddened soldiers hold their ground
Resting not, through day and night
Through the bushes foxes run
Tails and shadows in the grasses
To the battle the soldiers come
Chariot after chariot passes
---"All the Grasses Turning Yellow," Book of Songs, Zhou Dynasty (1100-221 BC)
Well, now that I have that out of my system. How are you all? I'm fine. I got tired of my intro, so it got changed. Some things are the same, but other things are new.
Well, that was obvious...
I told you I was going to do laundry today. I did! Whee!!!
The thunderstorms that missed us last night actually started up around 2 or 3 in the morning. I slept through most of them, except for the rather loud thunderclap at 5:54 a.m.... The house shook. Even the cat woke up and looked around. We had a 70% chance of thunderstorms all day....still haven't had any. *sigh*
Except for waiting for thunderstorms and doing laundry, today was pretty dull. I tried to draw the thing I was trying the other day and threw away. Well, I threw this attempt away, too. I guess I'm just not meant to draw this guy. I may try something different tomorrow.
While nosing about looking for things earlier, I came across this on some blog somewhere.
- Grab the nearest book.
- Open the book to page 123.
- Find the fifth sentence.
- Post the text of the sentence in your journal along with these instructions.
- Don't search around and look for the "coolest" book you can find. Pick what’s actually nearest to you.
My text: "With regard to choice of spouse, property rights, inheritance, choice of domicile, divorce and other matters pertaining to marriage and the family, laws shall be enacted from the standpoint of individual dignity and the essential equality of the sexes." -- from
The Visual Constitution of Japan
Yes, we have a copy of the Constitution of Japan. It's just a good thing that page 123 is in the English translation part. And it's also a good thing that it was laying on top of my Java book or you would have had something really dull.
Well, 'tis late and I should oughta go to bed... I think I covered everything I wanted to... if not, who cares?!?!?!
