Well... Saturday was absolutely horrific here at work. I got here to a lobby full of noisy little soccer players huddled around the computers. There was probably something like a dozen of them. Plus, the girl that I worked with was stressed out because several of the soccer families were complaining about their rooms. The problem was that they were put in smoking rooms and had requested non-smoking. There were no non-smoking rooms available... the housekeepers had left a bunch of rooms dirty because "they were tired." My coworker called them and got them back in to clean up those rooms. It ended up that there weren't quite enough non-smoking rooms available even after that because one of the rooms had some problem or another and it was unrentable. I think it took about 2 hours to get that straightened out. Then there was the wedding party going on back in the ballroom. They were pretty quiet, but the kids from that kept wanting to use the computers. We had to start to enforce the rule of being 16 or older to use the things. That rule kept the soccer players away. Then there was the lack of pool towels. I went looking for some back in the laundry room and found most of them in the washing machine.... STILL WET!!! So we used regular bath towels. It was an absolute madhouse. I didn't get hit on by any of the renfaire guys. Darn......
Another thing that got me a bit angry yesterday was the vehicle I was next to at a stop light on my way to work. A nice shiny Hummer H2. I drive a little Neon, so large vehicles annoy the crap out of me in the first place. But the thing that really burned me about this thing was the handicapped tag hanging from the rear-view mirror. I started to wonder just what handicap this person has and how much they're getting on disability to be able to afford an H2 and its gas. I paid $27 for just over 9 gallons today. The prices had been down a bit just until the past week or so. And then they shot up again. I'm so sick of this crap.
I am so tired. I haven't had a day off since last Tuesday. My next one off is Wednesday, and then I have three off in a row. I said the other day that I lost hours to the general manager's daughter because she lost her position as bartender when the bar got taken over by the new restaurant management. I don't mind so much that she's getting my hours. I just wish I would have had some warning that she was going to get them. I guess nepotism is alive and well here. I have to work with her Tuesday night. It's gonna be such a thrill. I wonder if she's supposed to be doing front desk stuff as well. Won't know the answer to that one until we get to Tuesday.
What month is this? October! Why is it so hot out? I'm sick of the hot weather!!!!! Oh, yeah, I'm in Iowa. We only have two seasons here: hot and cold.
I really should apologize for not visiting sites for so long. This schedule has made it a bit hard to get anywhere. By the time I get home after work, I'm too tired to even think. I can make it up the stairs and into bed. I haven't been online at home in three days. I stopped at the library briefly yesterday morning and that was it. I finally got to my email here at work and got partially caught up on it. The webmail for my ISP doesn't like HTML so some of the stuff won't come through. Then the computers here behind the desk are very very slow. Even slower than my dialup at home, if you can believe that!
I think I've ranted enough here. I just want to end this with a big Thank you!!!! to all of you for sticking with this crazy Kitsune during this time of not enough time. You guys rock!
Now I think it's time for me to find something else to do. I am in the midst of writing another part of the story. Hmm... maybe with three days off, I may be able to get some of it typed finally!!!!
The ranting has ended!
Laters!
