   Who needs sleep?

I have now been awake for around 21 hours. The time is 2:02 a.m. on Saturday morning. So please excuse any odd typos or sentences in this post. I've been running on adrenaline the past couple hours and am about to hit the wall.

I have a book called "The Writer's Book of Days." I'm way way behind on what the day is that I'm writing for. One of the topics that I had today was "I can imagine." Here's what I wrote for that topic. It's a fairly good summary of what Friday was like for me.

I Can Imagine

I can imagine what today would have been like with out all this stress today. The actual date is 18 Nov 2005 and this is what my day has been like.

1:00 am: Went to bed after running utilities on the computer.

5:00 am: Mom wakes me up to take her & Dad to the hospital 'cause Dad doesn't feel good.

5:30-ish: Was pulling through Moville on the way to Sioux City.

6:00-ish: Arrived at the hospital & dropped off the parentals. I didn't want to stay there with the coughing that I do. I didn't want to be pulled into a room myself. I went to the motel to wait.

8:15-ish: Mom called & said I could go home. Dad was going to have a catheterization. I went to McDonald's for breakfast to let the sun come up a bit more so I wouldn't be blinded while driving.

9:30-ish: Got home & went to Kristi's right away to tell them what happened.

9:45-ish: Got home and made a couple phone calls to let other persons know about Dad.

10:30 or so: Took a long hot bath. Kristi called as I was about to get out of the tub. Sat in the water talking to her.

Noon: Ate lunch and did dishes. Went upstairs and played on computer a little while.

1:30 pm-ish: Left for Sioux City and ended up at Barnes & Noble to read some manga. Bought a couple as well. I shouldn't have done that.

3:15 pm: Left the mall to go to work.

4:00 pm: Work commences. Things go all right until Mom calls from hospital around 9:15 or so.
Someone pulled out in front of Eric at Theo's!!!! His car is most likely totalled and he's possible got a compression fracture in his back. Stupid Stupid Stupid dickweed pulling out in front of my brother.

It's now 10:28 pm. I'm tired. I'm stressed out.

Scratch that. It's 10:47 pm. Mom just called. Yes, Eric's got a compression fracture in a vertebrae in his back. At 11:00 pm I gott go the them at the hospital. They're not keeping him?!?!?!

It's gonna be a bizarre Thanksgiving.

Well, there's the summary of my day. I didn't mention a couple things. Dad had a blockage in his heart and they did a stint or a shunt or whatever to open it up. He's doing very well and should be able to come home sometime Saturday. Eric has a compressed vertebrae, which may be a little different than what I said up there in what I wrote at work. He's in a lot of pain and is worried about some of the stuff he had in the car with him. He had bought some DVDs and he wants to know where his hat is. He's gonna be laid up for a while. Won't be able to work for at least 5 days and can't lift more than 15 pounds.

Well. I think I better go put the post up on my brother's blog like he asked me to. Then I better get to bed so I don't get too close to 22 hours of wakefulness. Oh... I probably had only about 3.5 hours of sleep before Mom got me up. Blah.

Laters!

Additional: The guy that pulled out in front of my brother... well, all that was done to his car was a change of a tire! That's all that the tow truck guys did to the other guy's car. Changed a tire and sent him on his way back to Fort Dodge. That sucks.
