Oy... what a day....
Well, yesterday didn't turn out quite like I expected. I went into Sioux City a bit early to hit the main branch of the library. However, I never made it to that branch of the library. As I was coming down 6th Street and got to the light at Jackson Street, I looked downhill and saw that the street was full of people down the way... The Hispanics were marching in protest of that proposed legislation... In the street next to the parking lot for the main branch of the library!!! Just because the federal building is across the street from the library. *rolls eyes*
So, I went to the motel, dropped off my work stuff and headed out to the Morningside branch of the library. It's small and had only one book that had anything I was interested in for that Egyptian cat. I did find a bunch of graphic novels that I ended up checking out and will be reading eventually.
I am going to try the main library again today. Wish me luck! I just have to eat lunch first.
*^*^*^*^*^*
Work wasn't too bad last night. With the march going on, there weren't any Mexican construction workers checking in. They probably were at the march. The surprising thing of the night was the fact that the one Mexican restaurant that the railroad guys love to go to was closed! So many of them were disappointed.
Then there was the one railroader that wanted to go to Perkins and it was closed for "quarterly maintenance." He then tried IHoP... which was also closed! He ended up at the 24 hour restaurant across the street from the hotel. It was rather amusing to see him frustrated like that.
*^*^*^*^*^*
Well, I think I better go find something to eat. I think I'll make a tuna salad to take for supper tonight.
Laters!
*^*^*^*^*
Additional: Well, that tuna salad ended up being lunch, and I never made it to the library. Just ended up goofing around on the computer some more. Seriously considering submitting an old picture to the fanart. *considers it* Oh, heck. I have about 10 minutes before I gotta start getting ready for work. It's going up!
