   What a night!
Work Thursday was like a root canal.... long, drawn out and painful! I was supposed to work with the boss's daughter, but she couldn't work and switched it with the weekend daytime driver. He's got a clue as to what to do for most things at the desk, but he's very slow to get things done. I think there are glaciers that move faster than this guy!!! Needless to say, I was very happy when 11:00 pm rolled around and I could leave.

*^*^*^*^*

Let's see... other weirdness in my life. I somehow managed to teach my car a few new tricks. I bought Onigiri at a used car place. It has a clicker keychain thingy that locks & unlocks the doors, pops the trunk open and has a panic button that starts up a lot of noisy whistling. I've had Onigiri for 2.5 years now. About a month after I got him, I was fumbling in my coat pocket for the keys and somehow managed to hit something on the clicker that made him start up while I was standing about 30 feet away. Cool! He's got remote start! The guy I got him from didn't even know it had a remote starter.

Anyhoo... Tuesday when I was driving down to Omaha, I stopped at a rest area on the interstate. My Dad was going to lock the doors using the button on the door. I told him not to do that because the clicker won't unlock it then and pushed some buttons on the clicker. We heard a couple chirping noises and thought it was coming from one of the semi-trucks parked a way over from us. Then all of a sudden Onigiri started to make all sorts of whistle noises. I somehow managed to arm the alarm on him!!! Now he chirps when I lock or unlock him with the clicker. I just have to remember to shut the door before I hit lock on the clicker or the alarm goes off and makes a racket. And when I turn off the ignition, the interior dome light comes on. That really confused me last night. I didn't notice it until tonight that it came on when I turned the key to "Off."

So, I have no clue what combination of buttons I pushed to get all that to start up. When I discovered the remote start, it took about 3 weeks for me to figure out what I hit. I don't know if I'll ever be able to figure out what I did the other day.

*^*^*^*^*

Well, it's about half past midnight now. I'm munching crunchy twisted Cheetos and trying not to get orange fingerprints all over the keyboard. There's a can of Coca-cola sitting to my right. I shouldn't be drinking it at this time of night, but I didn't have enough money for a grape soda.

Laters!
