Yet again, I'm in serious need of sleep
Here it is, Sunday night. Time to update. Let's see if I can remember what happened since I last posted.
Friday: work. Blah. It was busy. It was weird. I was in a bit of a bad mood when I got there and things that happened during the evening didn't help much. The only cool things were the fireworks and the clowns in a car. Sioux City has a "sister city" in Louisiana and every summer there's a Mardi Gras type parade. I was driving one of the railroaders back to the yard and he yelled out "Hey! Look at that clown!" I looked where he was pointing and sure enough there was a car with a couple clowns in it. It was rather funny. After the parade there was fireworks. I didn't get to see them all, but saw some of them as I was driving someone else somewhere. That's about all I want to say about Friday.
Saturday: didn't have to work!! w00t! My brother also had the day off, so we had sort of planned to go to a local state park to take a look around, but decided that it was too hot out to do that and went to a movie instead. We saw Superman Returns. It was excellent. I liked it more than my brother did, but I've always had a soft spot for Superman. It goes way back to the first Superman movie with Christopher Reeve. It was fun seeing things that were related to the first movie and the original TV series from the 1950s.
Sunday: work again. I had to be there at 8:00 in the morning. Ick. My body is used to staying up late and sleeping until 10:00, so it wasn't easy getting in gear. It was okay. I did have quite a few runs with the van, which was all right. It was something to keep me awake. The good thing about working the 8 to 4 shift is that I was home and able to watch Dead Zone! I was also able to receive a phone call from my friend in Arkansas. I left her a message this morning while waiting for a train and she called back. I haven't talked to her in ages. I wrote her a letter, too. I want to go see her so bad!!! It's been something like 5 years since I've seen her. Her kids are growing up so fast! Aaaaah!!! Now I'm all melancholy.
The week ahead: work, work, work, work. That's Monday through Thursday. All 4 to midnight shifts. Yay. I'm just a little upset that I have to work on the 4th. I bought some sparklers and want to play with them! I think I may go out with one of them tonight after I post this. If it's cool looking, I'll record it with the digital camera agian and post it for you guys.
I think I will go now. I'm tired and want to do something else. Maybe watch some Kenshin or Batman Beyond. But I will leave you with what could possibly be the best line in Superman Returns: Hey, weren't there two of those?
Laters!
