Emma stormed out of H.Q. mumbling swear words under her breather with her head hung low. She didn't know where she was going, not yet atleast. All she knew was that farther she was from "Mustang and his loyal zombies" as she phrased it, the better.
She decided to go to one of her favorite hiding places- the biggest oak tree in the deepest part of the park. It reminded her of the big oak tree that was at her house. Ed, Al, Winry and her would always climb it and see who could reach the top. Her father promised her that he'd build her a fort in there, but then again he also promised he was going to live to 230 when he only lived to 32.
She climbed up the tree, to one of the highest branches. Where she could see everything above her and under her and no one could see her. It made her feel safer. She closed her eyes and hummed the tune her mother always sang. Before she knew it tears started rolling down her face. She silently cried for a while. That was one the only place she felt safe to cry, she never cried infront of people, even when her parents died she put on a brave and cheery face when in company but as soon as she was alone she would start crying and telling herself that if she had only done this, or that, maybe that would keep them alive. This only made her cry more.
havoc scooped emma up. She kicked and screamed out words that weren't appropriate for a girl her age. finally brenda had enough and coverd her mouth. it was the only way they were going to shut her up. She glared at him as havoc carried her back to central where roy was sitting in his office. Havoc dropped Emma on the couch and closed the door behind him. Roy sighed. "Em' what am i going to do with you?" he said. Emma fell back into the couch and shrugged. "maybe you should make me a state alchemist." Emma suggested. "are you kidding, Emilia-" "emma." she corrected him. "Emma, your a very smart girl and your talents out shine any of our alchemist, i will admitt that but you don't listen, you dilliberatly ignor my wishes and cause so much destruction in the town that you'd think a hurrican came in." roy said. Emma raised her eye brow. "so is that a yes or a no..." "EMMA!" roy yelled. Emma folded her arms and rolled her eyes. "you act just like your mother." roy said smiling. Emma glared at him. She never liked when people talked about her parents. "what ever." she said under her breath and walked out of the room slamming the door behind her...
Emma and a blonde haired, golden eyed boy ran right into one another. They flew backwards and fell on the pavment, hard. They both banged their heads. They slowly sat up rubbing their heads. They noticed one another and glared. They jumped to their feet and got face to face yelling at each other.
"WHATCH WERE YOUR GOING YOU BLIND BASTARD!" emma yelled.
"ME!?! YOUR THE ONE WHO RAN INTO ME YOU OLD BAT!"
"WHO YOU CALLING AN OLD BAT, BEAN HEAD!"

They glared at each other then the boy noticed the girl looked very familiar. "Emma? Emma Rosa?" He said. Emma looked confused. "yeah who wants to know." she said. "it's me, Ed, Edward elric." Emma was surprised "Ed?" just then....

Roy rolled his eyes and walked over to the phone. He called Havoc and Brenda to find her. Emma ran off to the market and was looking at all the food she bought an apple and walked off. "There you are." a man said. Emma turned around and saw Havoc and Brenda with their arms folded. "Are you gonna come with us or are we gonna have to chase after you.... again..." Emma smiled "well what do you think." she clapped her hands and put them on the ground. The pavement started to sink in where Havoc and Brenda were standing. "EMMA!" Brenda yelled, but by then she already ran into the crowd. Emma ran threw the crowd giggling. She loved running, or being chased. It made her feel like she was unstoppable, because not many people could run as fast as her. She turned her head to see if they were close and then.
*WHACK*
Emma and a blonde haired, golden eyed boy ran right into each other.
A little blonde 10 year old girl was hunched over breathing heavily. "Can we stop now?" she asked in a whiney voice. "No Emilia, there's only 5 more minutes left in this training session." Roy said. "First of all, its Emma not Emilia. Second why do we have to train like this every dAYAYYy!" The little girl dodged a bunch of flames sent by Roy. "I'll call you what i want i am your legal guardian after all. and also to keep you at your best." Roy send. He snapped his fingers again and another set of flames were sent directly at the little girl. she flew backwards the flame tapping her shin. she fell and scraped her leg. she put her hand over the burn. She closed her eyes and clenched onto her leg preventing herself from crying. She wasn't one to cry. Roy walked over to the girl. He smiled "and this is why we practice. So things like this don't happen when your in a serious fight." the little girl rolled her eyes and looked away. Roy picked her up and brought her into the house. he bandaged her leg up. He looked up at her and smiled. "maybe next time you'll be a little more carefull." Emma jumped out of the chair and ran off. "Ohkay Roy Byyeee!" she said and shut the door behind her.
I tried to make it into shorter chapters.... and well this is the best i could do like that^^ hope you like it EnjOyy^^
"Daddy no! don't leave!" a little girl cried, trying to stop her father from leaving to join the war. Her father picked her up from the hard-wood floor and hugged her. "Don't worrie Emmie, I'll be back before you even realise i left" The man said "Daddy just has to take care of some bad guys ok?" "But what if you get hurt?" the five year old cried. "don't worry, no one can hurt General Mitchel Rosa, The Earth Alchemist" the man said in a deep voice. The Man wiped away the little girls tears and gave a big smile. The mother walked onto the room with some bottles "Here" she said and handed the little bottles to the man "I made some medican just incase you or one of your commrades needs it, there's a lable on each bottle saying how much to take each hour and what it helps." the man smiled thanks honey. The woman smiled back and reached into her apron pocket"Emma made this one for you" The girl looked at the bottle and smiled. The woman handed the bottle to the man, the bottle read "home sicky". The man gave a big smile and gave the girl another hug."Thank you every much Emmie" "your welcome daddy" the girl replied.
*BEEP BEEP*
A military truck was waiting in front of the house. The man put the little girl in the mothers arms."I'll be back soon Emmie ok?" the girl started to get tears in her eyes again but tried to hide it by smiling "okay daddy". The man smiled kissed his wife, picked up his things and walked to the truck in the cold dark rain. "WE LOVE YOU DADDY!" the mother and daughter yelled, the man turned around and smiled "I LOVE YOU TWO MORE!" he yelled back. He waved and started walking to the truck again. The car drove off into the darkness. The mother looked her daughter and smiled holding back her tears. "How about some cookies and ice cream before our bedtime story tonight Emmy?" the mother said trying to change the fact of what just happened "Okay" the little said quietly. The mother closed the door and carried the little girl into the kitchen.The man opened the bottle that said "home sicky" "your daughter make that one for you mitch" havoc said "yep" he said opening the bottle and he took out a golden necklace with a heart locket. HE opened the locket and found on one side a picture of his daughter and wife, on the other side there was a note "Come back home soon!"
A YEAR LATER:
"I bet I can run faster then you guys!" Emma claimed "Oh yeah we'll see about that" Ed said and ran off. A few seconds later Emma ran up next to him "too slow" she said a bolted off leaving Ed far behind. Al and Winry just sat under a tree watching Ed have a fit saying she cheated and wanted a do-over while laughing in his face saying he couldn¢®¯t out run a turtle. It soon grew dark and they headed off to dinner. Emma ran back home half starved and hoping that her father sent her another letter. Emma opened the door and ran into the kitchen where she found her mom with her head on the table with a crumpled up piece of paper in her hand quietly crying. "Mommy? What happened?" The woman quickly lifted her head still trying to hold back her tears. She got up and kneeled down in front of the little girl and hugged her tightly "I just got a letter from one of daddy's friends... they said there was an accident. Emma, daddy won't be coming back home this time" the mother said bursting into tears. The little girl just stood there her eyes widened, she couldn't believe that it was true.
*sigh* Emma now 16 looking like she was zoning out was holding a picture of her mother and father and herself, it was the last picture they took when they were all together. "Mom, Dad..." she mumbled under her breath. "Hey Emma you in here?" Ed shouted. "Yeah im here" she said. Ed walked into the room, Emma sitting on her bed with a white box set beside her. "What are you thinking about....?" Ed said sitting next to her. She looked at him and then looked back at the picture "nothing just looking at some old stuff, its bringing back memories is all" "Ok well just wanted to let you know that me and al are going to the mess hall so if you wanted to come...." "Sure that sounds good" "Okay come on lets go then" Ed said walking out of the room. Emma got up and placed the picture in the box, and walked to the door way. "Just memories is all" she said under her breath. She turned off the lights and walked out of the room.
This is a bit more detailed story of Emma's father's passing. Emma was going threw some old pictures and stumbled across a picture of her family. She then zoned out remembering when her father left for the war on Ishbal and a year later when she first got the news of her father's death. The it goes back to Emma in the present time. This is the story of Emma rosa as a phantom thief known as Carson the grand theft alchemist.
"Extra, Extra, read all about it Phantom thief stole priceless diamond last night. Extra, Extra!" a young paper boy shouted to the crowd "I'll take one" a girl said she was in a light blue dress that matched the color of her eyes, she had light brown hair tied up it a white ribbon. The boy stared at her and gave her a newspaper she smiled and gave the boy a nickel and walked away. She was known as the towns beauty, she a young, smart, beautiful and was very kind. As she walked, every passing man giving her a second look. She went to her apartment put her groceries on the table and read the head line. She grinned "We'll looks like my work is news-worthy Toby" she looked over to see a black cat on her bed. The cat meowed. She read the story about the unstoppable phantom thief and how the military is coming in. "hmmm I wonder how long it will take for them to send a state alchemist."
The next month: "Extra, Extra read all about it phantom thief defeats best state troops"
She took the paper and read it while she was walking, just then she was about to cross the street still reading the newspaper and a truck came by. She would have gotten ran over but just then someone yanked her back and she fell back into their arms. She blinked not knowing what happen it as a blonde, golden eye State alchemist
over her. "You need to pay attention more" He stood her up "you could have gotten ran over" "Oh im sorry, sometimes when im reading I tend to ignore the world around me... thank you for saving my life" He shrugged "yeah what ever" *WHACK*
"what the hell is your problem kid?"a man in the crowd yelled "Don't you know who she is!?!?"another man said "No look im just here to stop that phantom thief" "Oh that grand theft alchemist, Carson" "yeah so if you don¢¢ç¯t mind...." "Wait." the girl said, "your Edward Elric the, the Fullmetal alchemist aren't you?" Ed turned around surprised someone knew him in this small town. "yeah who wants to know" "Oh im sorry let me introduce myself, im Heather White. I¢¢ç¯ve heard of you before, see i just moved here and well- do you have a place to stay tonight, forgive me for being so nosey." Ed looked at her, no one gave him that kind of respect before. "Uh no" The girl's face light up "well i do own an extra room it has two beds I¢¢ç¯d be honored if you came for how long you'll be staying." "sure I guess me and my brother could stay there" "oh that¢¢ç¯s right you have a brother don¢¢ç¯t you" the girl already knew that she had already met the to boys before in fact they use to play when they were kids. Then a metal suit of armor came up "Al were gonna spend the night at her house" ed pointed to the girl, she smiled and waved. They went to her apartment she gave them a tour. Al saw the cat and started to play with it. Emma showed Ed their room "well here it is i hope you'll be ok in here" "Yeah i¢¢ç¯ve been in worse places" the girl smiled and walked away I¢¢ç¯ll be in the kitchen making lunch if you need me what would you like?" "A steak sandwich would be great luckily she had some and made ed his sandwich and she had a salad. "so what do you know about this 'Carson'" "well nothing really that no one else knows she only comes out at night and she steal priceless jewels and paintings from museums. No one has been able to catch her, apparently she uses alchemy to escape" "hmm really" ed said with his mouth full.
Later that night:
"Ok we have to go and stand guard for that museum on the water ok? Don¢¢ç¯t wait up" The girl waved good bye and smiled at the to guys "i hope you catch her" They boys waved and shut the door. As soon as the door shut the girl grinned. she went in her room and opened a hidden door in her closet it was a black suit. It was a short dress with long big sleeves one side was cut sleeved by the elbow and the re-attached by a diamond, it was collar cut and a diamond cased utility belt. There were also a pair of knee high black boots and a black mask. The girl took off her brown wig and threw it to the ground revealing long blonde hair, the girl still grinning changed into that and went to the museum. The girl snuck past security and ran into the art gallery were there was a large picture made by a famous artist that was worth millions hung quietly. the girl walked over smiling she grabbed the picture and walked off "Pshh some state alchemist" just then the light were on and there was Ed and Al. "and some phantom thief you are, put the picture down your coming with us Carson." Ed shouted. The girl looked down and smirked and started to laugh. "You honestly think im gonna give up just like that? I don¢¢ç¯t care how demanding you sound or how cute you are, I¢¢ç¯m Carson The grand theft alchemist, the only way ill surrender is if you catch me" with that she winked at them and ran off. Ed and Al started to chase after her. Then they got to a three way hall way. The girl stopped turned around and grinned "later fullmetal pip-squeak!" "WHO YOU CALLING PIP-SQUEAK!!" Ed screamed. Then the girl took a case out of her belt that was full of dust she pored on the floor clapped her hands and transmuted the dust into a smoke screen. Ed and Al stopped and looked around they couldn't see anything the they heard another clap and bolts of electricity came flying out from all directions, while Ed and Al dodged the bolts, the girl ran off and escaped. After the smoke screen was gone Ed and Al went reported what happened and headed back to the girls house. They went into the girls room and she was fast asleep, they then walked out of her room an into theirs. The girl looked up and sighed she pulled the covers off of her, she was still wearing her Carson outfit.
The next morning:
The girl woke them up with the smell of breakfast. "So... did you catch Carson?" "No she got away" Ed said with his mouth full of Eggs. "Oh im sorry, i bet you get her tonight" "Tonight?" ed said confused "Yeah didn¢¢ç¯t you hear?" she handed him the daily news paper. The head line said "Phantom theft outwit Fullmetal Alchemist, Says he's going DOWN!" Ed read the paper "Yeah like that's ever gonna happen" After breakfast the girl left to go shopping and Al left to send a letter to Winry."I¢¢ç¯ll be back later" she said. A few minutes after she left, Carson (she) knocked on the window. Ed turned and ran to the window, opened it and poked his head out. There on the apartment across them (which was really close) was the blonde, pig tailed, black masked phantom theft alchemist sitting with one leg over the other on the roof. "Hey fullmetal how¢¢ç¯s it going?" "YOU!" ed glared. Carson smiled "the one and only honey" she winked and buffed her finger nails on her shirt. "So did you get my message in the paper?" Ed glared at her "I guess you did, anyway i just wanted to wish you luck. You'll need it trying to catch me" "trust me you'll be the one who needs the luck" with that he clapped his hands and the windowsill surrounded Carson and pulled her in to Ed. "Well done Mr. Elric there's just one thing you for got" "Oh yeah what's that" "im tricky and flirty" with that she kissed ed. Ed shocked had no idea what happened. Carson then put her hands on his shoulders and flipped over him and landed quietly by the door. "Later fullmetal shrimp" Ed snapped out of it and ran after her but she already had a head start. He ran out side and saw her on top of another roof she smiled, saluted him and ran off. Ed pissed off, stormed inside and sulked. A few minutes later Al came back "Hi brother im back" "great.." "what's wrong" "Carson come in here and I couldn¢¢ç¯t catch her." "ooohh". The door opened and the girl came in "hi im back anything happen while i was gone" "Carson came here and brother couldn't get her" "oh im sorry Ed" "where are your bags?" "bags?" "yeah didn't you say you were going shopping?" "Ooh bags, it¢¢ç¯s a funny story i got to my favorite store and I realized I for got my purse" Ed didn¢¢ç¯t believe her but just ignored it. "Well hopefully she'll be in the museum tonight.
that night:
Carson walked into the museum and went to the jewelry section where there was a huge diamond in the middle of the room. She walked over and got the feeling someone else was there, she ignored it and cut threw the glass and took the diamond. She was walking away when Ed transmuted the floor blocking the exits she turned around to find Ed right in front of her, she smiled "you think that's gonna hold me back, for a smart guy your really dumb" Ed transmuted his automail into a knife "And for a phantom thief your not that secretive, I know who you are" "Oh really and who might I be?" he charged and she slipped away and ran off with the jewel. Ed transmuted the floor Carson lost her footing and landed in Al's arm's. Emma tried to get out but Al was holding on too tight. "I told you i know who you are, your Heather White" "Pshhh, yeah right you have no clue who I am" Ed walked over to her and took off her mask. Ed was stunned on who it was. "Emma?" "yes...?" "Al put her down" Ed commanded. Al did and Ed grabbed Emma by the arms "Emma why are you doing this?" Emma said nothing and looked away. He shook her and said it again. "ANSWER ME EMMA!" he yelled "because I liked it, it was fun! Ok it may not be the greatest answer but it the truth" Emma snapped back with a serious look on her face. Ed looked surprised on how serious she looked, he knew Emma as a fun, happy girl but that was 3 years ago when they were both 12, now they were 15. Emma looked away again trying not to blush as she just realized how close she and Ed were. Ed realized too and started to turn red. "tell yah what, I wont send you to jail, as long as you come with me and Al back to central" she agreed and they took the train to central, Ed reported that he chased Carson out of town and caught her in the next town and sent her to that towns prison. When they got to central they reported what 'happened'. Roy knew all along what happened and decided to keep it their little secret as long as Emma stayed with Ed and Al and she agreed. Roy also gave Emma a new name because well the grand theft alchemist wouldn't be liked in the military very well
Later that night:
Ed walks into Emma's room seeing that she's sitting on her bed and gazing out into the large window. "hey Em' you give back all that stuff you stole?" Ed said leaning on the door way. Emma turned just realizing that he was there, she smiled and nodded. Ed walked in and at next to her she was holding a box that had her Carson outfit in it. He put his hand on the box."I'm glade you gave in" Emma raised an eye brow, ed looked down apparently he moved his hand off the box and on to Emma's leg. He blushed and yanked his hand off the leg and rubbed the back of his head, Emma giggled and ed turned a brighter red. "Uh so... earlier today... uh that kiss..." "A distraction" Emma answered before ed even finished his sentence. "Oh, ok good that's what I thought, I was just making sure, cuz well you know, and I was just wondering" Emma laughed at Ed who was stumbling over his own words. Ed blushed a little and smiled. Emma smiled back and gave him a kiss on the cheek and got up and walked to the door. "Wait, what was that?" "Carson never gives away secrets." She said playfully. Ed smiled and got up off the bed. Emma winked and quickly turned around and left the room to go to the mess hall, and ed slowly followed.
This fan fic is SUPER LONG, I know so anyone who read all of this thank you very much lol. yeah this fan fic was a bit more flirty then what I usually do but how I pictured Carson/Emma was a clever phantom thief who liked to "toy" with people. She was a major flirt too. And if people got confused....

Al walked into the room after being outside sat down next to his brother.
"hey brother what are you doing?"
Ed lifted his head up from his book and looked at the metal armor."Oh hey Al i didnt hear you come in, im just looking into these alchemy books" He handed over a book "here i already read that one, Emma will be back soom she said that she was getting lunch"
"oh ok" al said taking the book. They read for a while then all of a sudden *MEOW! MEEEOOOOWWW!*
Ed looked up with no facial reaction and looked at Al. "Al is there a cat in your armor AGAIN?"
"WHAT! why would there be a cat in my armor" Al said tring to act like his brother was crazy.
*MEW MEOOW*
Ed looked at his brother "Oh really... there's not a cat in here huh...then what was that noise" "OOOHh the noise oohh.... that was me i was uhh... immitaing a cat... uh MEW MEWO MEW MEW" Ed looked away "ok what ever..." he mumbled then he zoomed around and opened al's armor and took out a black and white cat."No cat huh?.."
Just them Emma walked into the room with two salads "hey you guys im back here you go ed" she handed him a salad "What is this?!?" "shut up ed its good for you, awwww look at the widdle baby!" Emma picked up the kitten and gave it a hug "isn't he a dolly!" Ed rolled his eyes "Here we go Emma's gonna get all gushy about the cat"
*WHACK*
"OW WHAT THE HELL EM'"
"I dont get all gushy! he's just a cute widdle fur ball yes he is, Yes he is!" scratching his white tummy "You no we can't keep him right.."
"WHAT WHY!?!" Al and Emma said together "Because we can't take care of him, and al why do you always do this ur the only one who does this!" "Ummm he's not the only one..." emma chimmed in. Ed looked at her she gave a big guilty smile "umm well i kinda found him in the mess hall and no one owned him..... I named him Duke" She whisteld and a white and redish-brown mix with floppy ears came trotting into the room. The cat jumped down and played with down "aww aren't they cute!" Emma sat on the arm-est by ed. Ed rolled his eyes "Pshhhh what ever nutjob"
*WHACK*
Emma hit ed with one of the books
"HEY"
"that was for the nutjob comment"
Ed pouted and fell into the seat, the vibrations made loose her balance and she fell right onto ed lap.
The room grew dead silent and both of them blushed bright red.
Emma got up and dusted her self off, she then sat on the chair next to them.
"soo... can we keep them brother?" al said
"yeah can we?" emma chimmed in
"PLEASEEE!!!" they both said
Ed just put his hand on his face.
Everyone knows Al loves kitties but no one ever wrote a fanfic about it... lol i got bored and i staring at my cat cuz she was creeping me out then my dog walked in and the idea came to me :D hope you like it!
