Is there someone who can tell me how to edit my site background so that it has an image? I learned on HTML, so I tried, but I almost ruined my site beyond repair. Oo;; So could someone out there tell me how to do it...? Please...?

somebody signed my guestbook recently who said 'your site is cute. my site was all blue before i learned HTML.' it made me feel really inferior. thanks a lot! ;__;
lol, i'm just joking. but i do wish i knew HTML.
