Little Felicity hid
Under her bed
She pulled out her diary
That was sparkly red
She picked up a pen
And started to write
She covered her ears
As her parents fight


December 10
Dear Diary,
Mommy and Daddy
Are fighting once more
Daddy struck Mommy
And she hit the floor
What could have Mommy have done
To make Daddy so mad?
Did she make him so angry
To do something this bad?
Daddy just left
And the fight has stopped
But Mommy is bleeding
From bottom to top
Mommy is calling me
Good thing she's alive
She's trying to get up
As she strives and strives


December 19
Dear Diary,
Daddy came back
And now I'm afraid
My love for my Daddy
Is starting to fade
Right now he's drinking
And smoking his pot
He's stumbling around
As he takes his shots
He's yelling again
And knocking stuff down
He just stabbed Mommy
With a knife that he found
Daddy has left
And Mommy is quiet
This is the end
Of their big violent riot

Dear Diary
The police came up
And took me away
I cried and cried
Because I wanted to stay
I'm sure Mommy will
Be here tomorrow
To take away
My pain and sorrow

Dear Diary
Today is Christmas
That's what they said
But today they told me
My Mommy is dead
So I'm spending a Christmas
Where I don't belong
I want to cry
But I have to be strong
Because Mommy just told me
Even though she died
She'll always be here
