I'm going to take a leaf out of my friend Dragon's book, and use this as an opportunity to post my mediocre poetry. I'm sure you are all on the edge of your seats in anticipation, so here is one of my poems:
Daddy, you’re my world
Daddy, where’d you go?
Daddy, why I can’t see you anymore
Daddy, please, let me know!
I still can’t see you
But now I don’t really care
I found out what you really are
Your real self- stripped bare
I think I might forgive you
But I won’t forget the past
You seemed so sincere that day
I should have known it would never last.
I heard it from a passer-by
I heard it repeated in my head
All those chances to confess and make it right
Yet the truth you never said
You were with someone else
You had a whole secret life
You slowly pulled away from me
The pain that knowledge brings
Is sharper than any knife
My composure begins to crumble
I almost begin to cry
But rage overcomes my sorrow
I can never forget this lie
I can’t help but feel I’ve been forgotten
I even have a replacement on the way
You say that we’ll be siblings
That nothing is really going to change
I used to look up to you
Now I don’t know why
You’re nothing but a fake
One that I wish would just die.
You used to be my world
You crushed it in a day
Someday I will crush yours too
Someday, you will pay
I hate your stupid title
I hate your stupid demands
I really hate the fact
That you think you could understand.
On my heart there is a brand
On my body too
Now, for you my parting words-
I hate you.
