Part 4
"My parents?", Kai objected.
"My parents may be inverted psychos, but they could'nt have done something like that..."
"Whats done is done, and I would feel uncomfortable showing you the evidence to prove it, I even have trouble believeing someone would do anything like that. The truth of the matter is that your parents have dishonored their clan and dishonored their village. They went into hiding because they didn't want something that they could've had if only they asked, but instead they took it and the lives of all your relatives. The only thing we couldn't give them is control over your destiny. We were quite fortunate to have found you running from them - their tyrrany - because now you have your own choices to make. You are free, and we are also free to give you the option to join us and continue our traditions and perhaps make new ones. You belong to this village just as much as you would have belonged to your parents before they slaughtered the family you deserved. Now you should be nearing the legal age where you obtain citizenship, and have full rights under the laws of this country to defy your parents and, if you choose, to join us. That freedom we first experienced eight decades ago continues to shape our laws and regulations within our own community. You are just as important a member of this village as I am, or any of us. What we have here is a somewhat utopian society. There is hardly anyone to threaten us, not that we couldn't retaliate decisively; I mean we're a ninja village - even the shopkeepers know how to defend themselves and how to win a fight. We are entirely self sufficient because we live off the land as much as we live in it. Internal struggles are also a trifle, because we depend on our families' training methods to enforce the peace. In every case, at least one family has the upper hand on any member of another because of... well, I'll have Booshi explain that to you later."
"Booshi?"
"Oh, were are my manners? He even had asked that I be the one to introduce you to him," He pointed at the ninja in the Fedora. "Allow me to introduce you to Booshi Obake, one of our villages finest."
"Finest what?"
"I'll let you figure that out while he's training you." Booshi's eyes showed his pleasure for just a moment, not too long but just enough for Kai to see it himself, then faded into his relaxed stare.
"Well, I can see that you're just about to have an anurism... or maybe its me, but you should get to your new living quarters."
"Thank you for taking me in today," Kai said.

More Questions:

1) Does my story remind you specifically of any other story you've read?
2) "If looks can kill"... do you prefer that it refers to someone's eyes or physical form? grrrowl....
3) When you take a three day weekend, and you can't blog what do you say?

a's to q's:

1) only a little, and I'm pretty picky about what I call a Naruto ripoff...
2) I like to say that looks that can kill should only work on the opposite sex.
3) I like to put it in the form of a question, I'll be back on monday.

this is a picture I found on DeviantArt:
thank you Kanoe-kun!

My Story
Well, it all began in the not so tiny town of Dallas, Texas. My family wasn't so entirely well off, but well enough to have a family...

Oh, wait the other story...

Um, Ninja Kai is still experiencing technical difficulties due to a lack of a computer to transfer the files to or a writer capable of remembering what exactly he wrote... or a motherboard that has labels so that the writer can figure out how to plug in the power switch... so, the story remains on hold.

But I have good news for anyone even remotely interested in my story, despite its drawbacks and technicalities. A completed, colored, noted concept sketch of Kai. Including some spoilers that aren't so big of a surprise to anyone who really knows me. Enjoy!

Yep, I missed a day

Yesterday, I really have no good excuse for missing that post, so here's a quiz result to make up for it:

What is your element? [with pics + detailed answeres]

Your element is Water. You have a calm aura around you and are in tune with the world around. You observe it but rarely interfere. Because of your shy and timid nature you will not have so many friends in your life. But then again, large crowds aren't your thing anyway. You are comfortable on your own and are reserved to others who you don't know or know very little of. You know everyone out there does not want to be your friend, and knowing that is good. However, people who don't know you that well thinks that you are cold and distant since you don't want to talk to them. Although you mean no harm, you can't always be perfectly understood in the world. No one can. Life in general are you quite serene with even if there are some things you don't like. Your love-life is not so full of boys/girls, but if you flirted more with the ones you were interested in I'm sure something would happen. The hobbies you choose are calmer ones, you are no party person that likes to drink and make-out with three or more guys/girls in one night. Reading a book or swimming is more your thing.
Take this quiz!

Now, I should really keep off AIM while I'm working on my art projects, because I just cant stop talking when I'm not using my mouth to do it (especially if the person I'm talking to is as crazy as I am). I'll just go on and on with a certain pun until I either figure out how to make it funnier or until I die a little inside from the loss of what was a great pun. I even try speaking in html, and that never gets old. The fact of the matter is that when I'm set loose on the internetafter a Dr Pepper and a 3 Musketeers, there's no holding me back.

So, here I am after having a Dr Pepper and a 3 Musketeers (the tail end of the sugar rush) on my blog. Blogging away on the keyboard, I start to realize that "Ninja Kai" can keep going, getting stronger. It can roll on into oblivion, or I can steer it right back onto my blog whether or not I have the original concept story. I am the creator dammit! I'll recreate it however it needs be! The original manuscript may be lost to condemned cpu, but not memory!

Ninja Kai (part 3)

Flashback (part 1)
My main character, Kai, is 17 and his parents want him to go to an Ivy League College when he graduates from High School. One problem is that his grades are not good enough to make the cut and he runs away because he really fears his parent's reaction will be overly bad for him.

Not knowing where to go, he drives miles and miles into the middle of nowhere. With no money and no place to go, he stops his car on the side of the road for the night. Kai awakens the next morning to find trees moving past his car and he gets the slight sensation that it is flying through the air about six feet from the ground. As he sidles against the window, a tree branch clips the antennae and makes him jump in surprise. He tries again and cant see anything beneath the car, so he rolls down the window to get a better look. He finds underneath the car nearly a dozen men clad in black holding up his car and walking through the woods. As he rolls the window back up and sits back in his seat, he feels a prescence behind him. He turns to find another ninja wearing a fedora over his hood in the back seat.

"Hi!" the strange ninja surprises him with.
"What the hell is going on here?" Kai returned the most acceptable response.
"We are headed to our hidden village."
Kai takes a second to piece together the information. "Our hidden village? We are in the middle of Nowhere, USA and there's even a hidden village existing?!"
"Yep."
"Ninja are from Japan, right?"
"Yep."
"how the... what the..."
"I'll tell you when we get there," the mysteriously strange ninja said as he points ahead into the deepening forest.

After a small clearing, there stand two large carved doors surrounded by two walls of enormous trees that appeared to shoot from the ground and end in spiny tips. The doors open to reveal a village with buildings that rise up toward the center where a larger dome sits atop what looks like a town hall type of building.

"Welcome home," says the ninja in the fedora.

Flashback (part 2)
"I'm sorry? Did you just say 'welcome home'? What makes you think that I'm even
willing to take you up on this offer?" said Kai.
The ninja in the fedora
leaned forward and looked Kai directly in the eyes. "To be honest, you have no choice in the matter
right now. We know you, Kai, and you will not leave here until we can be sure our secret village is kept a secret."
"*sigh* A trap then? Fine, I'll play along."
"You choose wisely, Kai."
Kai's car now passed through the gate into the village, and as the gates closed,
the car was set on the ground. Kai and the fedora ninja then made their way to the center of the ninja village.
"What's your name?" Kai asked.
"A time will come for you to know my name, it is
not now."
"You guys are just like the stereotypes I've heard of."
"Actually, there's no such thing as a generic ninja, so kindly refrain from comparing our kin to what you've seen in comic books.
"Ah, here we are Kai. This is the Karada building, where all our governing originates. Our leader resides here and watches over our village. You are here to meet him."
"Why, may I ask, am I being delivered to your leader?"
"He will answer your questions."

At the main entrance stood two ninjas to either side. Their eyes went wide the moment they saw Kai and the ninja in the fedora come up the grand stairway, they moved quickly to open the door for them.
Just inside was a throne room, where the village leader was apparently waiting for them.

"Welcome, Kai. You have returned home so long after your parents took you from us."

Part 3

"I am the GaijinKage, it means 'Shadow of America'. You may be confused as to how you are connected to our village, since your parents have, no doubt hidden this information from you. It is a long story and it comes with a history lesson, so you should be prepared to hear it."
"What I want to know is whether I am free to go, or if your intent is to imprison me."
"You must believe me when I tell you that we have no intent of keeping you here against your will, but I believe that since you have nowhere to go or any way to get there without walking, our terms will be sufficient."
"You're taking my car?!"
"It will be delivered to your new residence we had prepared for you. We do not take what is not ours, so you have nothing to complain about. Now, our village is the first ninja village to sprout up within the United States since the destruction of our old villages that were first constructed in old Japan. The shogun of that era decided our village was gaining power too fast, and was a substantial threat to his rule, so he hired every other village he could to 'compete' against us for supremacy among the hidden villages. The other villages ransacked and destroyed us while we sat unable to rally for battle. Several shinobi were able to escape into the cities and hid together from those who continued to search for them. The Shogun was lucky that our village was so powerful, because the finest from every village perished in the great fight. The three families that survived continued in their arts as they waited for the others to forget them. The mundane lives they took up had been scorned before, and now were a great necessity. Our power grew in potential and we spread out just enough to catch the attention of the ones in power. We anticipated the strike for years, and when the time came we had earned enough to take a boat to America as an entire family. We spent weeks choosing belongings and concealing our movement. As the ship left the docks, we felt for the first time in two hundred years, freedom.
"It was not easy, but my Great Grandparents found ways to earn money so that a new hidden village could be built. A great amount of land had to be purchased and still remain inconspicuous, so they found this land in the middle of nowhere. It couldn't have been more perfect for us. The villagers were so happy they moved right in. Years later, we had not anticipated some of the new technology, satellites capable of taking high resolution photographs of our land. The trees did not cover us from their penetrating view. The government found us and we were soon at their mercy. But this land is so graced, that we were held at no more than a few penalties for taxes and other complicated matters, but that is when we learned of the other shinobi villages."
"There's others?" Kai was now frustrated.
"Do not worry just yet. I must continue the story, so that you may learn from it. Another village had failed to conceal itself from the satellite and the government thought it was merely a trifle, but upon gaining further information, we learned that this village was the descendants of the only village that openly defied our treaties before the shogun's manipulation. This village had also fled the country after being oppressed by the rulers long ago, but they were also likely the village that most deserved their oppression. Upon great discussion, we decided to send a messenger to their village to discuss terms. He never returned. We dared not use the legal system, because the power the press had established would surely uncover us as soon as we opened our mouths, so we have trained ourselves over the years to anticipate anything to come of the murder."
"This story is really long."
"Yes, well a break is in order if you choose..."
"No, please continue."
"Well, then, right back to where I was. Twenty seven years ago, a young man about your age stumbled upon our village. With the amount of noise he made on his way in, we figured he was no threat. He had nowhere to go, and had come out into the woods to kill himself just to escape his horrible family for good. We took him in as our own and trained him in our ways. He took a few years longer than most, but he became one of our greatest shinobi. He had found the favor of our greatest clans only daughter during his years of training and eventually they got married. About eighteen years ago, the secret corruptions he and his wife obtained consumed them, and they murdered their entire clan before they ran off. These two are your parents."

I cant believe I wrote that much. And If you see similarities to stories you have read, I assure you that is where my inspiration came from. I would like to give credit to Basilisk, Naruto, and a few stories I've read in an Asian American literature book, as well as a movie that is based on the story that Basilisk is based off of, however, I cant really do that because this is MY baby. This is what I love to do aside from drawing, however bad my English is (yes, I'm American and I'm white and completely not asian in any way, but my writing ability is still not good enough for a substantially un-professional editor).

So sorry about the long break in the story, but I'm back on track now that I've written a substantial back-story to go along with my tale (not to mention the initial sketches of several characters, not just the main character).

Perhaps I'll leave some quick Questions:

1) Have you played Hacky Sack? Are you good?
2) Have you read my Story? Is it good?
3) When you think about Ninja, what is the first adjective that comes to mind?
4) What would you think about a comic series concerning this story?
5) I do so enjoy writing questions and then reading answers to them, dont you?

Well, Arigatoo Gozaimasu.

Hooray, its fixed!
I, Krustyknuckles, hereby vow not to post any pictures with width wider than 600 pixels on this site, I promise to make my site better looking as with my art (although tomorrow, Im still on Spring break, so maybe later than that...). I also promise to keep everyone up to date on my Ninja story, and what I've been doing as far as that goes.

There's a light at the end of my brain

Well, I've thought it over, and although I can't allow myself to keep writing my ninja story because of my computer, I can indeed make the character sketches in order to start a comic strip. I really hope that the images in my head end up as good on paper, so that I can say that I've done something worthwhile, whether or not its something really good. I've completed the sketches for the main character (Kai), his mentor / trainer (Booshi Obake), the leader of the village, and the first antagonist. Its no good without a love interest, and I'm admittedly not too good at drawing the females, so that will have to wait until I've got the drawing down right. I'm still in the concept phase, and I think I'll take my time to get things right before I jump to creating anything.

Didn't I draw this weekend?

Well, I did draw, but today, I woke up later than I wanted to and didn't get to work in time to do anything with my drawings. And yesterday, I was practicing drawing the females using Love Hina as my reference medium (Naru is so hot...). I really just ended up reading two volumes before I fell to sleep after my initial sketch (that didn't look so good).

The end of the world as we know it?

No, its not the end of the world. And, its not the end of my college group. After giving it some thought, I realized that its going to take more than a building project to break us apart. The reason I worried so much is that there is no attachment that I've grown stronger with than that of my college group. If those bonds were to break, I'd probably lose myself for a while.

Questions:

1) What is your favorite Anime pet? (mines Potato from "Air")
2) How many n00bs does it take to pwn a light bulb?
3) Can you speak leet?

Thank you for reading,
Krustyknuckles

Upping the Pizzaz? Pizzaz doesn't seem to be the right word...
Well, my site seems to need more of that "something" that others have (eg music, videos, comic strips), and less of the problems it has for the smaller res viewers that I realize is quite a problem.
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at PhotobucketThe music is an easy fix, even though there's not too much that I like, I can probably get a playlist of a single genre up. Pictures themselves are a problem, because they are the reason my site is "hard to read" in the first place. Html is my new sworn enemy, so I'll try my best to defeat it in a timely manner, although the fouunderweb.com tutorial wont be of much assistance for the problems I've caused.

I'll try a smaller image today, and see if it will fix the problem:
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I get really bored in Physics class, so I really have no reason as to why I drew this. I've never seen a truck in this specific condition, and I never anticipated that I could do this from memory of what an old Chevy looks like. I like to surprise myself though, and it seems this is the only way I know that I can.

Recent Occurences

Well, this is a blog, so I intend to make use of it that way. I'll start by mentioning the movie I was going to see so early this morning. I didn't see it. My friend with minor health problems decided not to go b/c of said problems, and then the rest decided they were too tired to go to a midnight showing. That left me no longer playing spades, but listening to a conversation that involved a threat to our group, not a threat of physical injury, but a threat of change that would also threaten the existence of our group. Most of my closest and dearest friends are my friends because of this group, and the group will not likely continue to exist if there is no way around these changes. My church is undergoing renovations and our meeting times have to be moved to accomodate the major changes of the church building. The group is already a shadow of its former self, which was kind of a shadow to begin with, and the church is not willing to accomodate us with all the changes its going through. I'm afraid I might lose my college group. -_-;;

In Other News

Well, yesterday and the day before (I forgot to mention), I went up to Borders Books and Read 5 volumes of Ai Yori Aoshi (Ai-Ao). I dont know why I keep reading it, it took about 5 volumes before I started reading volume 8 to have any plot development at all (then again, its got really nice pictures :3). I read 8-11 the first night in which I walked in at about 8:30 and read until 11:00 on the largely uncomfortable carpet they have. My posterior fell asleep a number of times, but at least I didn't have to buy the books.

I finally bought "Ender's Game" yesterday, and I know it's odd, but I owned the last three parts of the saga before I ever bought the first. Its one of my favorite stories of all time, and if its possible, I would want to be the one to first draw the characters from it in the form of a graphic novel (which is very hard to do because of the lack of physical descriptions in the book). Here is my initial sketch of Ender:

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Its kinda rough, but there's no getting around that right now since I just thought to post that a second ago. I've come across some strange ideas for how the characters would look too, so if you have anything to suggest, please leave it in a comment for me.

Ooh, more Questions:

1) Where you are, is it warm enough to wear sandals today?
2) Have you ever worn socks with your sandals?
3) What do you want to be as far as profession is concerned? (yes, a mommy does count...)
4) What is the number one song stuck in your head recently? mine is "Message in a bottle", followed closely by "All my exes live in Texas" (I'm glad that's not number one...), and sadly, last is "Black Parade" by MCR.

(Insert salutatory expression here)

Sorry about yesterday...
I know I said I would put up the color of my most previous work "Ninja Guitar Hero" up yesterday, but somehow I didn't even post. Not that it mattered much, since I seem to have a soul-shattering lack of readers as it is. Well, I've finally finished it that is whenever P-shop decides to save it... it has a mind of its own today. This is unarguably the most complex lighting scheme I've ever put in a drawing of mine, and it appears to serve no more purpose than delaying the end of my post. That may or may not be so bad, if you enjoy reading the long strands of inexcusably wordy sentences that I conjure up at a moments notice. Then again, when you just keep writing for the sake of writing, you start writing some weird stuff. There's no excuse for some of it because you don't have to write just for the sake of writing. Writing can take care of itself after its all done being written, so leave it alone. It won't bother you unless you bother it first.

Anyway back to the completed drawing, and I'll make it nice and big so that its the first thing you notice when you read my post:

Nice Huh?

welcome back to Krusty's blog!

Well, this week has been interesting. Minus the excursion into lostness this past weekend, my sister just this morning left on a High School field trip to LA, my spring break starts essentially tomorrow, since work doesn't count as work for me (I know, I know... I'm a lucky s.o.b., but I still live w/ mommy & daddy and could'nt even afford a really cheap apt. either). I've become so addicted to Guitar Hero, that I needed to avoid classes (physics) to get my fix ("I can quit any time"). There's a movie tonight that, although I've heard little about it (The 300), I'll be going to see at midnight tonight. I'll be sure to let you all (yes, I do hope I get more than one reader) know how it went without spoilers, unless I'm severely dissappointed in it like Eragon - the worst movie I've seen since Soul Plane (which made me laugh, and then feel terrible about it).

Well, that is a big load off of my fingers. I think I'll think of something new to do for tomorrow.

I also have some questions:
1) What are your thoughts on High School?
2) Do you feel as though when you leave (or if you already have), that it will be (is) better?
3) What is it that girls want in guys? And if I already have whatever it is, why do they leave me alone? (You females are soo dang confusing to us guys)
4) How good are you at Guitar Hero?
a)easy
b)medium
c)hard
d)expert
e)whats Guitar Hero?
5) What do I need to do to get some more views on my site?

I was able to convince my friend to buy "Guitar Hero 2" yesterday, and almost completely skipped my class at night just to keep playing. needless to say the game rocks more than most others do. And as inspiration works this way, I rocked this way:

It was too complex for me to color during one shift, so I'll be doing that tomorrow unless something comes up. Enjoy this grand spoiler of what is to come tomorrow, and I'll see you round.

Sayonara!

oooh, questions:
1) If you were a tree, what kind of tree wood you be?

2) If bagels rained down from the heavens, what would you get from your fridge? (be specific)

3) do you like my questions?

Well, I went camping - yay
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Well, what you see is what you get, and that is just what happened too. I left at about 5 O'clock and made my way to Daingerfield State Park in east Texas. At first, I forgot how to navigate the Dallas metroplex highways and had to take an eight mile detour. Things went great from there until I had to turn onto highway 49. the "end" came soon enough and I kept following 49. I passed a sign that said "Daingerfield State Park 3 mi", but the brown color of the sign at about 7:30 did not register in my mind. I continued following 49 until it really did end (luckily it was only 27 miles away from where I was going), and realized when noone knew about the park I was going to that I had gone too far. I made my way back and completed my four hour drive just to sit back and watch things burn. It was then that I realized I couldn't draw in the dark. The entirety of the trip was uneventful, but I got to eat at a Dairy Queen in a small town (that alone is worth a road trip if the employees are nice).

Anyway, I had some time to get some "work" done. So please enjoy.

Ahhh, Friday
Its good to have a Friday at least once a week, so this Friday I put together a character sketch just on a whim. Don't think anything of it, I'm just a guy whose job is "nice" and doesn't ask much of him. Enjoy this sketch and color of "Yuri" (I just hope thats her name).

Well, theres some good news about my crap computer and theres some bad news. The good news is it might be replaced with something at no cost to me. The bad news is its not gonna be as good as before it committed suicide. Once I find out what is happening with this incredible offer, I might be able to put my ideas in motion. The resurrection of my Ninja Kai story may be at hand.

Arigatoo Gozaimasu and I'll see you around.

I have a DeviantArt account? O_o
Well, today I am busy. There is a drawing that needs to be completed today and I am seriously considering to do it. I'll have to add a new "finished" drawing either tomorrow or next week, so I'm sorry to dissapoint -.-;.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Ninja Kai is on Hiatus for this week, because well, my motherboard doesn't seem to work, and I'm not entirely capable of getting anything off of my hard-drive. Just so you know, this is the first time I've had writer's block because of a computer's inadequacy rather than my own.

Look at me, almost forgot my subject line, I decided today that I would create a deviant art account, and to my surprise, there was mine from three years ago. I didn't even remeber making it, but it was there. As expected, my screenname there is Krustyknuckles and I've uploaded a couple of my drawings, so do look if you really want to see things I've already posted here.
