The Japanese Bicentennial
I recently read a brief history book on the 200 years of Japan's "awakening" (It just happened to take 200 years). I suppose that's why I asked your opinions on the Iraq war. There's no explicit parallel to the awakening of Japan, but the possibility of a Dictator rule would have been imminent had American Troops been withdrawn from Iraq as it had been in Japan (Even though the leadership was determined to be an empire (think StarWars)). The pattern in history shows that following a change for the better, a change for the worse will follow. Only a country with humility and self-control will properly recover from its downfall. Japan was merely violent about it and the radical young officers in Japan's military were the source of the problem. It was one of our countries greatest mistakes, but we gave them the ultimate sedative... the atomic bomb. Luckily, Japan has been able to forgive us over the years since, and they have begun to create staggering jumps in commerce and education since the War. The one thing that I really hope that America is doing in Iraq is that kind of preventative measures. I pray that Iraq one day has a booming commerce as well as a prevailing air of peace.
New Job
Well, I'm here at my new job now and there isn't too much going on. I suppose that's alright, but there is a slight feeling of anxiety around my desk. The lack of stacks of old papers is comforting, although that had been entirely my fault...
I'm no longer in a box (a "closet" - if you will) and my boss is in the same room as me now. I'm sure that I'll be getting work done 0_0;
There's really no downsides aside from that. I really have to comment on the free sodas in the break room XD. It's really wonderful when I'm not working... which, is all I've done so far.
A-kon (not the "musician")
This past weekend was a blast! My friend (Caesar1280), flew down from Tennesee for the con and spent all his money (I kinda envy his ability to do that -_-;;;). He bought an authentic Japanese Kimono (I want one... but I'll just have to wait until my globetrotting days arrive...).
Shwiggity shwag:
-NERV satchel bag
-Appleseed #1 - Japanese version
-Slight ego boost (I am THE guitar hero n1nj4)
-Rum in my system (more on that in a moment... maybe)
-Picture of Kenshin
-Decal of GIR
-A new love of sleeping on the ground
-Negima vol. 14
-A need to make an Engrish to English translation dictionary
-Something else... can't remember... GAH!
Well, I slept on the floor which wasn't cold... but the A/C blew cold air that landed directly on me during the night, so I woke up shivering. I decided that if I wasn't going to spend too much money, I'd at least buy a bag to put the stuff I did have into... too bad packing light means using smaller bags for me (Dang boyscout brainwashing! ...at least I can be packed in under an hour).
I had never been drunk before, and according to Caesar... and how much I saw he was drunk... I was barely tipsy... He asked me not to go into the advanced physics of his drunken state.
No questions today, and I've got a task to do now... hopefully I'll see you tomorrow!
Itterashaimasu! Ganbatte! and whatever!
(please correct me if any of these are incorrect)
