No such thing as a tyrant...
I'm sorry if I gave the wrong impression, my boss is one of the nicest guys I know. He's not stupid though. Earlier today, I almost walked in on him removing another employee from the payroll... face to face. That guy had been taking advantage of my boss's niceness for far too long already. Some advice for anyone who wants to keep a good job:
- If your schedule conflicts with the work week, compensate for the time lost.
- If your religious beliefs "require" two weeks of vacation every six months, don't expect them to be paid
- Don't spend half of your time at work on a dating site! (especially if you're married!)
- Don't lie to your boss (If he finds out, you lose his/her trust)
- If your boss is taking everyone to lunch and you don't want what they're going to have, kindly step out instead of forcing your choice on them
- Don't borrow your boss's car to go to lunch if you don't have your own.
- Do your work!! (and do as well at it as you can)
- First impressions are important, but to a smart boss they aren't everything. (although you have to get past the interview first...)
- You can't keep a good job if you're a dumbass.
That's a little wisdom to start the day off.
New Music
You might still be listening to "Ride on Shooting Star" from FLCL. I can't believe I didn't raid imeem.com for that sooner. There's a few others on there I really liked too. "Ai" is another good one...
Lunch
I had a wonderful burger for lunch instead of the two cups of ramen I brought with me. My boss's treat, and now I know to never have a business meeting in a bar downtown - it's so loud!
I'm still waiting for more work to do, so I decided to take this time to write the blog. I still shouldn't be making full-size posts until I get to use the new internet we got at home... maybe I'll have more tonight...
