LOOK!! A weekend post!
Its about time for me to update my story, eh?
Not that anyone has said anything... oh well.

**Archive diving**

**Re-reading old chapters**

**Preparing self for insanity impulse**

"GAHAHGHHAGHAHHAGHAGHAGHHAGHAGHHAG"

Now, I'm ready to write... maybe...

Chapter 3: part 7
(holy crap! its been over a month!)

(the end of part 6)
“Do you understand how Booshi can turn his energy into a fireball?”
“No, sir”
“Then let’s see if you can turn yours into one.”

"Energy transfiguration, Kai. It's more than just fireballs and explosions. You see, there's a certain quality that your energy contains and the most dominant quality is the one that determines what it can be turned into. There are really only three types of energy that have been seen in this village: Heat - like Booshi's fireball, light, and the most common here is plain force. Your own clan was mostly force users."

"What about my father?"

"Ah, yes. He wasn't originally a member of this village, so we never really saw his true type before he destroyed the family and ran away with your mother. I say true type, because while your father showed some ability to use force powers, he had some unique abilities that couldn't have been merely kinetic energy - the actual term for force."

"Kinetic energy is just movement, right?"

"Yes, but some would call it telekinesis even though its all controlled by the body rather than the mind. The simple term we use is ki."

"So my father has strange abilities?"

"Yes, and he found terrible things to do with them too. I shouldn't really say that he killed your entire clan, because there is one that he apparently put into a coma before his final escape. But now is the time to see what special abilities you can learn, rather than learning about the abilities your hateful father learned," Gaijinkage was almost yelling before silence crashed around them.

"Sorry, Kai. My granddaughter was just a part of that is all. Lets continue... Do you remember the last time you used your energy?"

"Yeah, I broke that sword."

"It was in your hands right?"

"Yeah, the sword was..."

"No, no. The energy, Kai."

"Oh, yeah. I think... Yeah, definitely."

"Good. Now do that again, please."

"But I couldn't feel my hands until the next day."

"Just do it. If you don't practice it, you'll never feel anything when you use it. I recommend you try for more power this time."

"Alright," Kai said as he prepared himself to generate the pain and numbness caused by his energy once again. He closed his eyes and breathed deeply. He could feel the intensity of the energy gathering at his hands once again.

"I want you to focus it Kai," Gaijinkage said over the pain in Kai's hands. "Think of a shape and focus your energy in front of you."

Kai couldn't really choose a shape with the pain in his arms, so he thought of his nerves and how much they were screaming. When he opened his eyes and saw sparks flying from his hands rather than any shapes.

"That's... that's..." His stammering was then interrupted by an arc of lightning from tips of his fingers on one hand to the ones on his other hand.

"Electricity," Gaijinkage finished for him, "You have a unique ability indeed, Kai. Now, I assume touching you right now would be unpleasant, so please ground your arms for me."

Kai watched his arms as he slowly stuck them on the ground.

"This is indeed an odd ability you have, Kai. Electricity is an undeniably odd thing to see - even for ninjas - coming out of a human body."

Gaijinkage stepped forward. "Can you move?"

Kai shook his head.

"I assume that took most of your energy, so I'll help you get back to my place. We can't have you in that low security tree-house with the Miho heirs after you."

Gaijinkage hesitated before he carefully grabbed Kai's shoulders to pull him to his feet. Kai looked at the palm shaped scorch marks in the dirt and started to chuckle.

"I suppose you're surprised, huh? Well, just wait till you see Booshi's face when you tell him your type."

"I'll get to see his face!?"

Yeah, a joke kinda was needed. I'm really deciding that this needs to be drawn out to be better understood as a story, so I'm gonna get out my paper and pencils and try a few panels to get this going in the next few weeks. I have some pictures drawn, but the sequence is gone and the pictures are "dirty-looking" in the sense that I need to clean the lines up. I also need to put the last chapter on Fictionpress, so if you missed it you'll have to archive dive to find it (second page in the archives).

Job search is going... for the lack of any adjectives. I've got my hopes up to maybe have enough courage to ask that girl somewhere. I did lend her my book on GO, so that she'll want to play me again (this time she'll probably win - I'm not so mean as to never give a handicap. 6 stones sounds about right).

Computer is much better behaved since I cleaned out the fan on my video card. I ought to have cleaned it out in the first place, since I left it lying about my room for so long that it collected dust outside the computer.

I'm so conflicted now about my childhood friend (female) that lives in the area of my church when she's not off at school in Oklahoma. I want her to have somewhere to go to when shes in town for friends, and I think she'd be just fine in my college group. I can't send any of the girls to get her to come, because they don't know her and although I've tried (she said she would come once and didn't), I think she's afraid I'm pursuing a relationship she doesn't want rather than just getting her to meet my friends. So many things that would normally make my head explode. She's been afraid of relationships ever since her boyfriend in high-school dumped her for a skank and I don't feel there's anything I can actually do anymore.

I tried calling her on her cell phone (only twice) and not one call was answered or returned, so I have to ask if it was wrong of me to call her phone to tell her about the meeting time though there wasn't really any other way for me to tell her. If she's not upset with me, I'm not sure I want to know what thats like... Maybe there's something I need to apologize for that I missed... anyway, I don't like thinking about this so I'm done writing about it.
