Helter - skelter and lickity - split

I re-watched Sin City the other night and then fell asleep around 4 am.

I woke up with a start around 10 am, because of a scary beeping noise that resounded throughout the house.

Without putting on my glasses, I could tell the ferociously horrid kitten (the one who always tries to eat me in my sleep; I have the scratches and bite marks to prove it) had made a mess all over the floor. All over the floor, as opposed to using her cat box.

With as warm as it was in the house (there's central air) and lack of green lights telling the time, along with certain noises not occurring, I could tell the power was out.

I reach over for my glasses, which were on the high table next to the couch and next to my cd player, when something seems amiss (not counting the fact that after a few seconds of poking around, it occurred to me that my glasses seemed to be missing)

The earpieces from my headphones were decapitated. Bitten cleanly off and residing goodness knows where.

After some more squinting and poking around, it was deemed that my glasses were indeed... not where I had left them the night prior.

I found them under the table, on the floor.

I also found the kitten behind the couch, playing with the remnants of my headphones.

.....

Cleaned up the mess she made; figured out the loud beeping was emitted from the home security alarm system. There was a red light lighting up the word 'trouble. Pressed a button that seemed to make sense, to turn off the sound.

It worked. Then I realized that someone had left the front door unlocked.

.... o.-

Stuff and stuff. Eventually made supper, and everyone liked it, but getting to that point involved battling the sink hardcore, amongst other things.

Uh, I'm apparently leaving tonight for Irving. Tonight meaning the bus is departing from San Antonio at 1:45 Friday morning.

I... don't know why I'm so reluctant to go. <.<;;
