story
well here is what i have of my story.....It was an early spring morning on the side of the mountain; you could smell the sweet smell of the cherry blossoms on the crisp mourning air as it rolled in. The town was as quiet as a graveyard not a soul was left in the town. They had been told to leave the town do to the battle that was to ensue that mourning. The young samurai came into this town looking like the walking dead, he was wearing a set of red armor designed to look like a fierce dragon roaring at some unidentified foe. The young samurai somberly walked to the well in the center of town, his eyes were as though they were stuck on some far off place. He drew up the old wooden bucket from the well and raised it slowly foot by foot till the bucket reach the top of the well emerging from the whole like a flower appearing after the winter snow. The samurai raise the bucket over his head and poured the cool water over his helmet and armor, then dropped it to the ground. His once red armor was now returning to its former color of black as the blood slowly washed away. He started to remove his helmet to show an emotionless face which had what appeared to be rivers of blood flowing down his face. None of the blood that flowed in these rivers belongs to this battle hardened warrior. He had seen much combat this mourning at a battle in which he shouldn’t have been in to begin with because he was not a samurai bound to a clan he was a ronin. To most it was a mystery why he was at the battle but to one individual his brother Reioki Hyota it was clear, Reioki was a samurai that worked for the Scorpion clan. Reioki had convinced his brother to join in the fight only to kill the man who stole the young samurai’s wife to be but he had no clue how bad an idea that was. The young samurai had agreed to this because the temper of a thousand dragons couldn’t compare to that of the young samurai, but this story starts much sooner than that when the young samurai was at the age of four or five. Ryu’s father was fighting a battle to reclaim some territory from the lion clan his father fought long and hard to reclaim the territory but then the lion clan champion showed up and annihilated the proud scorpion’s battle group. Since Ryu was the oldest son his father’s diasho went to him. Ryu’s fathers’ death did not settle well with him so he decided to avenge his father’s death. The next year he was sent to the wolf clan to start the beginning of his long training to become a samurai. Over the next couple of years he would learn to use martial arts such as kung fu. He learned to hit with all his spirit and counter a blow with a speed of a winter wolf. The next step in his training was to learn to calm the mind and relax the body which involved an immense amount of meditation. That was followed by learning the basics of sword fighting with a katana, he learned to slash, parry, and thrust with the katana and that’s all he was allowed to learn because he refused to join the clan. So he turned to a master swordsman named Hyo Tagoshi which he now need to train with to become the samurai that he needed to become to avenge his father. Ryu then turned his attention to traveling to master Hyo’s house which was located in an area of dense bamboo forest at the bottom of mount Kinjo. Ryu made the travel without any trouble at all, he stops and talk to several traveling merchants buying food and water from them. Once Ryu arrived at Master Hyo’s house he was waiting outside for the young samurai to be. Ryu walked forward and bowed to the great swordsman, which master Hyo returned. Master Hyo was a skinny, medium height man with gray hair even though he appeared to be young his eyes showed much wisdom. Master Hyo stared at the young pile of bones wondering if he should train him or just cut the young boy down where he stood. Hyo said to Ryu “I will train you only when can stand on water and hold your sword over your head with much pride.” Ryu nodded his head in acknowledgement. He sat outside the house for three days not sleeping or eating. Master Hyo came to him on the fourth day and said “Well young one have you accomplished your task?” Ryu looked Master Hyo dead in the face and stated “Master I was waiting for you to ask me to do the task; I knew how to shortly after you asked me to.” Master Hyo surprised that the young one thought he had figured it out already, after a minute he told the boy “Well let’s see what you have then.” Ryu bowed then walked over to the well grabbed a cup that sat near the well and poured some water into the cup then threw the cup to the ground spilling the water. Ryu then stood on that spot then raised his sword high over his head and stared right at Master Hyo with confidence. Master Hyo started to laugh and laugh, then while chuckling said “That’s damn good boy that’s damn good indeed, you may make a good samurai yet.” Then motioned for Ryu to follow him toward the house and said “let’s get something to eat.” The pair walked to the house and through the mahogany door. As the walk through Ryu’s jaw nearly drop as he saw Hyo’s daughter Kyita Tagoshi who was older than him by a year or two. She had long black hair that appeared as onyx, her eyes were like two beautiful pieces of jade and her skin appeared as soft as silk. She smiled when she saw Ryu and Hyo and said “Father is this going to be your new trainee?” Master Hyo replied “Yes sweetie he is and could you serve dinner now please?” she looked to Ryu who was skin and bones with black hair and brown eyes as she said “looks like the both of you could use it.” She laughed at the comment then set the table and served the food. They sat at the table eating in silence after they finished she cleared the table. Master Hyo then asked Ryu why he decided to train to become a samurai in the first place.
