Welcome, peons... XD
Chapter II The next morning had come, leaving the night‘s rage behind and bestowing a new day. The sun rose, shining brilliantly in flames of red and orange. Squinting, the vampire rose his gloved hand over his eyes in an effort to block out the sun all together. When he realized the sun had arrived, he made an effort to raise his tired body from the cabin he rested against all through the night. He stood on his feet wearily while dusting the grass and dirt from his robe. Looking around the yard and pondering what to do next, he felt the same pair of eyes once again watching him. The vampire new who it was though. Gathering his strength, he immediately jumped onto the roof of the small house he rested against. “So your awake…” spoke the dark stalker from the previous night.
The vampire landed softly on the roof’s surface with his arms firmly crossed. “I never slept…”
The man responded with a smirk on his face. “It seems that cloak of your protects your body from daylight. Where did you obtain such and extraordinary object?”
The vampire was getting annoyed. “Never mind that! You’re the one I haven’t been able to deal with for quite some time now, are you not? Who are you….?”
“My name shouldn’t be so foreign to you but you appear to have truly forgotten it. Address me as Sanvala for now, young one.”
“Do not call me ‘young one’. My name is Lethean… By the way, I am still curious to why you are following me.”
Sanvala replied in disappointment. “…you will come to find out soon enough. For now, you will be put to sleep. The organization will be so happy to see you.” Lethean was curious to why they‘d be happy to see someone whom they never met. The sun’s bright light shined against his back and to the face of his stalker, showing him to be a middle aged man with soft, innocent green eyes. Looking past the man‘s shoulders, Lethean spoke to himself, “….The organization…” His mind showed him memories of an organization of vampires. They were always sending minions after him every few decades. He never new why they wanted him, but they did, and every time he escaped. Till now that is. He was curious to why they have longed for his presence.
Uncrossing his arms and pointing to the man before him, “You will take me to the organization. I wish to find out there purpose for me.”
Sanvala rose his eyebrows and responded a little surprised. “My mission has become that much more simpler. To think, I was prepared to knock you senseless.”
Lethean became disgusted with this individual. Suddenly, the surroundings around the vampire distorted and swirled around him. When the process was finished, Lethean emerged in front of an enormous stone mansion. A place he did not recognize but knew was far from the plane he was previously on. Looking to his left, he noticed Sanvala walking ahead. He took this action as a notion to follow. Sanvala lead Lethean up many stairs and past many rooms. Each and every room the two passed had a different tool for torturing. From chains to guillotines to stretchers. All of them still had their victims ensnared within the device. Lethean made a point to keep this in his mind for his own twisted ideas. The two continued up the hallways and staircases. Neither one appeared to be showing signs of fatigue. Eventually, they arrived in an enormous room carpeted in red fur-like mats with skeletons that decorated the walls. At the far end of the room in the center, a muscular man sat in a tall noble-classed chair. Lethean examined him closely as his guide brought him further into the room. Lethean’s eyes weren’t as keen as his nose but they were the only sense he had to use at the moment because the place had no scent whatsoever-which was strange to him... Lethean felt his body mass decrease as he approached the massive man in his chair. Lethean eventually had to look up to view the spectacle. Sanvala abruptly stopped in his tracks. The vampire stopped a few paces behind him.
The big man spoke with power, ”Finally you have come to your senses. I bet you are wondering why I have called you here numerous times before…”
Lethean interrupted, “If you deem countless violent attacks on me, ’calling me’, then yes, I am curious to why you’ve done so.”
The man continued, “ You will discover your true power. The power given to you by your father. You will learn to harness it and become one of my elite minions.”
Lethean wasn’t to fond of the servant idea but he thought it would be a valuable chance to gain a newfound strength and learn about his past- something he never knew of. The young vampire spoke with confidence in his plan, “I will abide by your rules… for now.”
“The prophecy has been set. The son of he who reigned supreme shall carry on the legacy once more. Sanvala, take him to the first chamber. I don‘t think he needs to rest. He is the son of Lord Jahnnum.”
Sanvala made his way back to the entrance of the room. Lethean followed. The two later arrived in a room that was completely empty. No light in it at all except from the doorway the came through. The pitch blackness didn’t bother the vampire but he still had reason to ask why this room had no light in it. He received no answer from Sanvala. “Stay here” he said while giving him a lantern with a small flame in it. He quickly took his leave of the dark room, closing the door which they entered behind him, rendering the place completely dark. The vampire stood in the darkness alone… until he picked up the scent of something cannibalistic. Something with the foul breath of a wolf. He began to hear the growls echoing off the walls- giving the vampire the idea that the room was quite large and wide. The lantern he held in one hand did not light no more than two paces ahead of him. Useless he found this object to be. Suddenly he began to hear footsteps coming towards him. Lethean knew that this was the first test but how to overcome it was another story. His power over the shadows were weak and feeble. But his psychic power made up for that. He began to direct his mind about the room, eventually into his foe’s. He was fascinated and at the same time frightened to find that in that very room was a very hungry werewolf…
He held the lantern in front of him in an failed attempt to light up more of the space in front of him. That very moment though, the werewolf’s head revealed its furry self. Drooling from the mouth it had wide open, it lunged at Lethean full force. Lethean quickly ducked, dropping the lantern. His maneuverability was very sharp since it was based on his hearing abilities. The lantern’s flame still burned. Lethean pondered of how to defeat this creature. While doing so he was launched across the room by the werewolf’s claws. Lethean slammed into a wall but quickly regained all his balance. The werewolf was relentless, attacking him violently intentionally trying to rip him apart as if it hadn’t eaten in centuries. Lethean was swift and sharp with his movements though, wasting the least amounts of energy, dodging the werewolf’s biting, clawing, swiping, kicking, and lunging with luck alone. The lantern lay in the middle of the room, still lighting a small circle around itself. An idea struck the vampire. The werewolf lunged at his torso with its mouth wide open. Lethean phased a shadow based stick into existence and stuck it inside the creature’s mouth while sidestepping the damned thing. The werewolf made a thud as it slid onto the cement floors and into a wall. It struggled to remove the object from its mouth. Lethean took this opportunity to scramble to the center of the room and take the lantern into his possession once again. This time knowing what to do with it. He began to focus his psychic power into the flame, causing it to grow slightly. He was impressed that his idea was working. The flame suddenly exploded out of its container and warped around the vampire, instantly illuminating the room. He now had control over the element of fire.
An evil chuckle came from the vampire as he unleashed his fury onto the grounded werewolf who still struggled with his mouth. Within seconds, the corner the werewolf was in lit up with intense flames of hell. The walls melted off onto the floor from the insane temperatures. After the vampire felt he was done, he retracted the fire back into the lantern, letting it sustain itself on its own as it did before he learned how to manipulate it. As soon as this happened, the lights in the room turned on. The room was indeed large as the vampire anticipated but with a low ceiling. Lethean was fixed on the corner he faced, in awe to what he’d done. The walls in front of him were pitch black and still melting. A deep hole was engraved into the corner. In the deepest part of the hole, bones and blood alongside some flaming pieces of flesh could be seen. That werewolf has officially been disintegrated.
A door behind Lethean on the far side of the room opened. He turned away from the scarred area in the chamber and drifted quickly towards the new path before the smell of dead carcass would catch his nose.
