'I never give anybody hell. I just told them the truth and they thought it was hell.' [Harry S Truman]
Retreat. Huh. What can one say? It wasn't as good as last year, but it wasn't bad either.
The best parts of it, however, were the free time periods.
The last night, a bunch of A-crowders and durry munchers [Smokers] started up a little fire in the sloping grassy area behind the chapel.
It was about 11pm or so, when we were supposed to be in bed, so the teachers were wondering where we were. They figured it out, and were really pleased with us, so they told us the next morning, and left us alone for another hour or so.
Seeing about 90% of your students [usually divided at free time] all together of their own accord is a good thing I guess.
Dave was roped into playing his guitar for them [even though they went about it the wrong way by taking it from his room and hunting him down]
There were some altercations, but nothing that I feel I need to note.
Affirmations were the last day. Basically an affirmation session is where you write what you feel about the people in your CLP group [positive things] and then give them to them, and then you write ones for your friends.
It sounds corny, but it's really a nice thing to do. It wouldn't work on the net, it needs to be a P2P thing.
I was surprised at how many I received that encouraged me to keep my moral standards, and how they really respected my religious beliefs.
I've got one here from a guy in my CLP, Craig Tanzer, Tanzer for short.
Now, I've known him since year eight, and we're friends, but generally that doesn't extend any further than a quick conversation in class or CLP in the mornings, so I was pretty surprised when I received this from him;
'You have such great morals which need to be respected. Don't change for anyone mate. I have so much respect for you the way you are.' Craig
There's about 20+ others from close friends and CLP members that I'd like to put up, but I'd rather keep them restricted to a physical sense, if you know what I mean. Such a platonic influx would really take away from the special-ness.
*hugs for all*
[If you haven't guessed, I'm well again]
Oh yeah, I'm also attending Alexa's part this Saturday, should be interesting [It's supervised, yay!] and Mark and I have much of the evilness planned for wigging out our Religion teacher.
So so inept. She gives the stereotypical blonde a bad name.

'I love America. You always hurt the one you love.' [David Frye]
Sick. Ugh. Excuse me while I wander off to die a slow and painful death.
Eugh. Why isn't there medication that works instantly?
Stupid having to go on retreat.
x.x;
Why isn't RvB here?

'A young doctor means a new graveyard.' [German Proverb]
I'm so tired. I know I slept last night, but I'm really drained. I've got a 5:45AM start tomorrow in order to be up for seminary, and I'm going to be wasted.
Getting over a cold too. I almost lost my voice, and it's a good thing I didn't, seeing as I had a talk in church today.
[I've got my mobile now, and I can give you the international number [it keeps telling me my numbers in international format for some reason] and can give it to you peeps if you like...want to send a $5 SMS for some reason, lol]
Uncle Craig and his family left about 12ish, and Levi and Jed promised that they'll come to stay in the Chrissie holidays, so it should be good.
Whenever the three brothers are together, Uncle Scott, Dad, Uncle Craig, all these stories come out.
EG: Shooting flaming tennis balls at each other, playing with sticks of TNT/Gelignite, leaping off the roof...
Heh.
The looks on Grandma's face a priceless.
^_^
I love when the family are up, they're all so crazy.
Like me..heheh..
I appreciate all the comments that have been made, I'm thinking on taking a day off next week, but it will have to be after retreat, seeing as we have no exceptions in missing out on that.
Besides..I need a day off to do my Art assignment, which I was unable to do on the weekend, or last week.
*sigh*
Busy busy busy...

'Is that a beard or are you eating a muskrat?' [Dr. Gonzo]
It's been such a long week. The past few days have exhausted me. I barely finished my talk for Sacrament tomorrow, I can't bring myself to do my art one.
Retreats on Monday.
In the past few years I have become a less emotive person when it comes to displaying sadness. I'm able to quite easily deal with those emotions, and I find it awkward when people come up and ask me if I'm okay.
When I say I'm fine, they give me a slanted look and say, 'you sure? Your eyes just look so sad.'
*sigh*
Iono.
Carrying Grandad to his final resting place was an honour. When we all went back to Grandma's afterwards, Grandma asked all the grandsons to line up, eldest to youngest.
Uncle Scott lead us through to the bedroom, where there were quite a few trinkets that grandad had carried with him over the years.
Uncle Scott said that Grandma wanted us to take a few items, that we could remember Grandad by.
It was all so surreal. Hugh and I [being the eldest and having to choose first] just stood there, it was one of those awkward moments where you just don't know what to do.
I picked up his Tiger's Eye cufflinks, and his collar bar. It's bizarre how somethings just appeal to you, that help you remember. I don't recall him ever wearing those items, but for some reason it helps me remember..
I left the room, feeling slightly suffocated, and gave Grandma a hug, thanking her for them.
She smiled and hugged me and said, 'you know, he really loved you Liam. I know he would have wanted you to have them.'
When she said that, it just touched me, and I knew it was true.
After this weekend, I don't know how I'm going to manage school.

'You're a good example of why some animals eat their young.' [Jim Samuels]
Oh yeah. That's right. I'm on Broadband.
Suck on that.
*dances around*
^_________^
There was a minor drama when the old internal 56k refused to die [*beats it with a shovel*] but this great guy at technical support [100% Free! Free!] sorted it all out with all the proxy and the LAN.
Mmm...Ethernet..
^______^
*dances around*
I'm downloading RvB, right? Guess what? Guess what?
It's 50mb, and instead of taking me three hours, it's only taking me 20 minutes!
*laughs evilly*
Wee!
*cough*
Look at the little lights flash. Hee.
^_^;;
More sombre news. Grandad Cameron passed away last night. We're dealing fine here, but my 'cuz is hit pretty hard. For the long period while my Aunt was divorced, Grandad was like a father to him, so I'll check on how he is later on.
Grandma has nominated me to be pall bearer, the funeral is this Friday, so I will not be attending school, come hell or high water, Physics, however important, does not come before this.

'I loathe people who keep dogs. They are cowards who haven't got the guts to bite people themselves.' [August Strindberg]
Gratuitous File upload. Just for you.
As a sidenote, the modem didn't arrive, and the T-shirt says 'same shirt different day'
Apologies about it being so bright.

'[Americans] are a race of convicts and ought to be thankful for anything we allow them short of a hanging.' [Samuel Johnson]
Guh. My art emails, both of them, have not come through. Something deserves to be shot...
x.X;
Dad didn't grab my sample either.
Guh.
I'm exhausted, still, but apparently I didn't miss out on much at last Saturday night's party.
Nothing that would have been church standard.
lol
Yay for being a member!
In other news [stolen from Juu]:
They're just jealous that I'm such a man-whore.
lol.
Speaking of man-whores, Mark is a Bourbon Monkey. So there.
My studies have also proven that there in an inherent plague that moves around in the student body, known as the Sleaze Virus. I was going to name it after myself, but The Liam Sleaze Virus doesn't sound too flattering.
It's managed to move from Deyve to Mark, and now Bertoldi.
Just like I predicted.
Hm.
Scared now.

'A critic is a man who knows the way but can't drive the car.' [Kenneth Tynan]
Ah, musical is finished. And I already miss it.
;___;
It was so much fun, with the fun having-ness and the dancing and the singing and the Alexa-ness.
*cough*
Just watch as my English skills degrade.
lol
In other news, I couldn't take any photos. Why? Because the camera deserves to be shot.
I'll have to steal someone elses and scan them.
I've also got a photo of Brie and I, at the TFY dance, that I need to grab and scan.
More Liam for you!
As a note to anyone who loves playing games that make no sense, go to www.albinoblacksheep.com and play the Warthog Blast one. I managed to get up to Level Thirty.
Try and top me, I dare you.
;p
Wee...three days until 256k..mehehee..
Church was good and all, and I drove around for a while almost got sideswiped by an idiot in a Datsun who took a chance at the traffic lights.
If I had driven through half a second earlier, I'd probably be in Intensive Care right now.
Oh the joys of being on your L's.
lol
More sombre news, however, Grandad Cameron is fading fast. The doctors say he's got cancer of the lung, and they don't expect he'll live long.
When we went to visit him, he didn't even know we were there. It's just so sad...
Seminary tomorrow.
Bah. Too early.
At least I managed to talk to Britty.

'Asking a writer what he thinks about critics is like asking a lamp-post how it feels about dogs.' [Christopher Hampton]
I am so intellectually inept.
I did my Chem homework without any problems, but my Physics just escapes me.
And I have to wait until Monday to get a Card sample for my Art project.
Which I still haven't done.
x.X;
Ah well, at least the musical is cool. Mm..fire twirling.
Still haven't received any wolf whistles yet. Hm..
;p
Bleh. Owing to the computer being used, family being over [GAH! CAN'T YOU SEE I WAS TRYING TO WORK??]..I wasn't able to touch the computer until now, and only for about five minutes. Leaving for musical.
Yay! Closing night!
Wish me luck!

'Writers should be read, but neither seen nor heard.' [Daphne du Maurier]
Wee...musical. Ugh. I hurt all over. Much of the pain in the legs and the owies and the pain..x.X;;
That was from playing sock hockey last night at Mutual, so I guess I can't blame musical for it.
Mmm...newspaper wrapped in several layers of duct tape.
Hiya!
*fwaps Ben*
ehehe..
owies. Damn retribution..legs..ow...
Muscial! Yay! Photos!
Mr Clark took a photo of Alexa sexing it up *poses*
lol
Hurrah for Blondes for Danger. I get to dance with my partner Elise, and Alexa [as the Caberet singer Madame K] peels me away.
;p
Fun fun fun.
Wee..missed out on Physics two days in a row, so I'm not popular.
Haven't done the schematics for my art piece.
Getting broadband in 5-10 working days.
Opening night for musical tomorrow night.
Half asleep.
Guh.
[Am I going crazy or has myO gone topsy crazy?]
MSN refuses to let me sign in.
Had lots of stuff to say but I'm running out of resolve..x.X;
