Yar be havin' a good day, aye?
[I just lost all of my post, let's try this again.]
Yahar! Today has been fine, better than this salty brine I say, yarr!
Okay, enough of the bad pirate rhyming.
Today has been awesome.
We all got up [unintentionally] at 4:45 or so this morning and discovered that all wanted to open presents, so we did.
lol
Blair loved The Wish List and Mum 'n Dad loved their presents as well.
Not as much as the ones they gave us though.
Muhuhu, WRC 2: Extreme, AirBlade, a Nickleback Album and an awesome LOTR 'The one Ring' bookmark.
^_^
I have music, and games that I can vs people in and actually use the second controller, lol.
Blair, however, really surprised me. This year he gave me two singles [Hee, more music, he's so awesome]. A Nickleback [Someday] one and, wait for it, a Jet Single, Be My Girl.
*dances*
I now have three music CD's.
It's amazing, seeing as I got my CD stereo thingy when I was twelve. It took four years, but I have my own music.
[No, the 'Backstreet Boys' and 'Hanson' CD's Mum and Dad bought me with the Stereo do not count, as the clerk recommended them to go with the stereo, as I recently discovered]
[Oh the shame]
But yes, much of the music and the game playing.
[Oh the goodness]
[My brother has reached previously unknown levels of coolness]
This arvy we're also having a huge christmas lunch, followed by a water fight, that's fuelled by 500+ waterbombs.
^_____^
Tomorrow we're going to Grandma's for a big family thing [in which Dad will incite another gigantic water fight, lol].
Now I've got all the commericial and frivolous Christmas things aside, I recommend to all of you to watch 'The Christmas Truce'
There is a reason why the 'watch' is in bold.
I saw that special a couple nights back, and it left me pretty speechless. For a person that prides themself on the ability to describe things with a plentiful amount of adjectives, I was short changed.
To put it simply, it was eye opening.
For those not familiar with the gist of the story, it is about the 'Great War' [WW1] that was fought on the boundary of Fance and [Belgium?].
Trench warfare, the whole shebang.
This was still in the era of warfare where the automatic rifle and the army was the main focus, where the gigantic Mark 1 Male tanks were invented.
An era before the concept of 'Air support' was idealised.
The British and European nationalities still had the concept of 'chivarly' instilled in them from their previous generations, and through that, on some parts of the trenches, an uneasy truce was formed.
There's a cut scene/reinactment that really, well, iono. You've got to see it and experience the emotions for yourself.
It's kind of heartwarming and somehow sad at the same time.
As I was saying, there's this one scene where a German soldier climbs up into No-man's land, holding a Christmas tree aloft above him.
Candles are cradled in the little tree's branches and the soldier has a worried smile, but proceeds through to the British side, completely unarmed.
It's such an act of naive good nature, you can't help but feel, uplifted, per se, for seeing it.
The British snipers go to fire
[both sides have been informed that any acts of enemy sympathy will be harshly punished, even being shot by their superiors for treason], but they don't.
They put their weapons down and one of them goes out to greet the German soldier.
At this point I'd like to inform you that the average age of these soldiers [the enlisted men] is between 16 and 20.
I'd tell you more, but if I revealed the rest, it'd take away from the experience.
You've just got to watch it.
For those of you with the History Channel, there was a little History Channel logo after the BBC one in the credits.
Most probably it'd be on, but I don't know if the US cable companies would be interested in the signs of humanity in a British/Euro war...
Merry Christmas and all that, hope you have a good one.
^_^
EDIT: Oh wow...
x.X;
This Jet single is officially the coolest music CD I have ever seen. I just put it into the PC then, and it came up with, 'to play this CD you must update your player.'
I clicked yes.
This little player opens up, and it so cool.
*collapses into happy goo and puts brother's coolness up a notch*

It is in order
Just letting you people know I'm still alive. I've just been really busy, which is a first in a while.
I'm keeping up with SYF, so don't worry about that failing.
I just completed my Christmas shopping for the family [yes, on Christmas Eve] and I'm just about to wrap my little bro's present. [Eoin Colfer's The Wishlist]
Merry Christmas to you guys, I'll work on some photos for you.

I'm back, with cool, cool shades ^_^
I managed to pick up myself a sweet pair of Matrix sunglasses [Neo] for $25 at the markets. They came with the genuine tags etc, and in OPSM and the like, they're $125.
Ehe, I don't care if they are knock offs, they are *dramatic pause* the coolest
^_^;
I'm also more of a bronzed Aussie now, seeing as I was able to traipse around without my shirt on, so my stomach isn't so shamelessly white.
Nana and Grandad are great [Grandad is officially the most awesome Grandad ever. Text words do not do him justice]. We walked on the beach and on the little path, complete with mango trees, loaded up with [unripe] fruit.
The water is clear and pristine, the sun is hot though. It's times like these that I'm grateful that I take after the Kurdish blood in my Dad, because I just tan, baby.
Eheh, Blair walked outside for like five minutes on the beach without sunscreen, and he flashfried.
I know I shouldn't laugh, but I am.
lol
Oh yeah, while up there Mum was reading one of Nana's books on the British Isles. I really didn't care at first, and then I noticed that there was a section on Ireland, the country side, the local quirks, ancient tales.
Everything.
It's true what Matthew Rielly said, when you make an effort, the research starts to come to you.
[Mind you I haven't had any German Weapon manufacturer's representatives come knocking on my door.]
So yeah, I actually enjoyed my few days up there, but I'm glad to be back.
It's nice to see that SYF hasn't gone off on a wild adventure without me, and Flynn's net is back online, so yay!
^_^
Will post soon, and yes, I really, really [truthfully] missed you guys.
Don't ever leave me again!
I mean, I won't leave you again..um..eyebrows?
x.x;
EDIT: On a completely unrelated note, here's an image of my little brother Blair and his friend [with the knife] Serena.

Long trip
I'm leaving officially for Hervey Bay in eight hours. That means I'm leaving at 4am.
And to think, I was hopind to drive up there if I got my learners.
HA!
I mean, um...
^_^;
I'm worried about how SYF is going to hold up, and the new Stargate RPG. But I know the future plot developments are in Katy's capable hands.
yay!
And I know the others will back her up, won't they?
*suspicious glare*
Well, I'll be back Saturday arvo, so I'll try to post then and catch up. Unless I find an internet kiosk or something.
^_^;
[Hey, where're my banner comments?]

Eee...^_____^
Someone started a Stargate RPG! I'm so excited and hyped and excited and stuff ^_^
Want to know why?
The person who started it actually has a deft control of the English language and has a keen interest in making this work.
I vote y'all check it out, we all need a good bit of Action/Sci Fi hybrid storylines.
You can check it out here;
Stargate: SG-1 Text
On another note, I'll be away from Thursday until Saturday arvo. I should really do an SYF post tomorrow, seeing as no one else is.

What's 6'1 and covered in green fuzz and chlorophyll?
That would be me after I attacked 1/2 an acre with a Stihl Whipper-Snipper.
^____^
Gehehe, at first it's as boring as all get out, but now my jeans are covered in a thick green fuzz and grass seeds are in my socks, and I just decimated an expanse of knee-high grass.
Muhuhu..
I've said it before, and I'll say it again.
Modern Death decks out in a black robe and a chromed Stihl Whipper snipper.
^___^
Oo yes, read stuff about the PSX [more commonly known as the 'niche PS2 home entertainment system']
I want one.

Finished one and did another
I finished the second SYF banner, which is:
Like?
The third one I'll put up a bit later, that way I can glean two sets of comments out of you people.

It's been a while
Yesterday was cool.
Basically Katy, Flynn, Simon, and I went to Grand Central and bummed around for hours.
lol, I even managed to drag Katy and Flynn into EB, upon whence Flynn and I started talking about how good the old RPG's were and Katy decided we should leave.
Then instead of looking at computer game shops, we ended up going through bookstores and the like ^_^
At lunch Simon showed up and then we proceeded to go to Sanity and wander around aimlessly on the mainstreet, making our way up to the Strand movie complex.
Once there, we saw School of Rock!
I love that movie ^_^
What else?
Ah yes, I have more ideas for another SYF banner, but I don't think I'll be able to fully set these ideas in motion for a while..
*hums to self*
Much wanting of Broadband ADSL. Ed's convincing me of the evils of Ozemail Broadband, so yeah. Um, I don't think I'll be getting ADSL anytime soon so I suppose it doesn't really matter.
lol

I recieved my Report Card today, and I saw a really stupid movie on TV, but more on that later
I did, I got it today. Some things I'm proud of, some things I'm not. Really, I'm kicking myself over the whole English thing.
And to think, writing literature and otherwise was something I was proud of, and now I've discovered that it's my undoing.
I can't write academically. I'm too descriptive, and for the love of me, I can't find the line between 'Narrative Descriptive' and 'Academic.'
Ah well.
The stuff in the square brackets are my thoughts as I read it, I haven't included all my thoughts, obviously, but just some ones that stuck out the most.
Here it is;
Religion and Ethics: B+
Classroom Behaviour: Excellent Attitude to Subject: Very Good Application to Study: Very Good Homework: Very Good
Liam has participated well throughout the semester and has a good understanding of the issues studied. He displays a mature approach, has taken an active part in discussions and shows respect for others and their values.
Mr John McAtomney
-----
Ancient History: B2
Classroom Behaviour: Very Good Attitude to Subject: Very Good Application to Study: Good Homework: Good
Liam has completed an encouraging semester’s work in this subject. He has performed at a high level on most assessment items. He gives evidence of wider reading and readily contributes to class discussion. My concern is that in responses requiring extended writing Liam does not develop his responses in sufficient detail or tabulate supporting evidence in a compelling fashion. It is a skill to which he should give some attention in 2004.
Mr Owen Wheatley
-----
Art: B2
Classroom Behaviour: Very Good Attitude to Subject: Good Application to Study: Good Homework: Good
Liam is a conscientious student who has worked consistently this semester. He has developed a range of skills in a variety of areas and should continue to improve as he gains experience and confidence in his own ability. Much of his work is conceptually based and supported in his visual diary. He has produced some theoretical and practical work which reflects a high level of skill and always strives to complete tasks to a resolved standard.
Mrs Sue Jackson
-----
Chemistry: B6 [Sice when was Chem my highest grading subject?]
Classroom Behaviour: Very Good Attitude to Subject: Very Good Application to Study: Very Good Homework: Good
I have been very impressed by Liam’s positive approach to the subject this semester. He has gained very sound marks in the two most difficult topics. If he can apply himself in a similar manner during the coming academic year, he should gain a very creditable grade. [Great, I shall like to point out sir, that the only reason why I'm doing so well is because you're an awesome teacher, and you're not going to be here next year]
Mr Robert Waters
-----
English: C10
Classroom Behaviour: Very Good Attitude to Subject: Good Application to Study: Very Good Homework: Good
This has been quite a disappointing semester [Hey, don't look down your nose at me, I'm hurting more than you are] in English for Liam. His Collage Drama was excellent, but his written pieces did not reflect depth of understanding or analysis.
Mrs Sally Taylor
-----
Mathematics B: C7
Classroom Behaviour: Very Good Attitude to Subject: Good Application to Study: Satisfactory Homework: Satisfactory
Liam has demonstrated a satisfactory understanding of the knowledge and procedures taught and has experienced some success in applying these to problem solving situations. He has shown an improvement this semester in his effort and approach to this subject. Liam is capable of improving further and is encouraged to be more determined with his studies by completing more routine learning work and revising more often.[I should study more, I should, why do I keep on putting it off?]
Mr Anthony Simmers
-----
Physics: C2 [*proceeds to do a victory dance* HA! I PASSED! ...wait, that means I did well in the exam o.O;;]
Classroom Behaviour: Excellent Attitude to Subject: Very Good Application to Study: Satisfactory Homework: Good
Cameron’s [Please, it's been how long and you've verbally abused me how many times, and yet you still believe my last name to be my first?] weakness in this subject is his performance in the Knowledge section of formal tests. It has been limited this semester. If he wishes to secure this sound result, he must prepare more thoroughly for tests. He participates well and works with interest in class.
Mrs Gay Ellyett

CLP Teacher Comment
Liam is a valued class member who has involved himself in a wide range of College activities. Always well groomed [Hee..she thinks I'm hot. lol]and respectful, Liam has been impressive as a Level One student. His academic interests have been challenged with his participation in the Maths, Science and English competitions. In the cultural sphere, Liam has been impressive with his willing participation in the Male Choir and College Choir. Finally, Liam is to be commended for his active involvement in the Harlaxton community service project. He should enjoy the challenges of Year 12.[Enjoy? Of course! I laugh in the face of challenges! Hahahaha!]
Mrs Sue Hurley
Behaviour Management Level: 1 - Outstanding [Hee...Outstanding *glee*]

So yeah. There it is. ^_^;
I've really, really, really, got to learn how to write from an analytical point of view, as well as how to write Academically. Mum says she'll help me, so that's cool.
[I can't believe I just said,'so that's cool]
[...why am I still typing my thoughts? ...o.O; ACK! Must stop..]
Anyhow, movie.
Yes, movie.
It was stupid, really, really stupid.
It was a Vin Diesel one, 'Pitch Black.' And, as always, I was suckered in by the little ads they played for it. I watched it, and was instantly annoyed by the stupid cinematography they used.
Argh! I be havin' too much of this stupid washed out blue/monochrome colour scheme!
Yeah, everyone died, including the girl that was supposedly the hero. Right up until the end she survived all odds, embraced Vin Diesel, and then she was ripped away from him by some of those weird flying giant bug things.
I mean seriously, what the hell?
No..too tired...I refuse to continue to rant about the stupidity of that movie.
I'll just gracefully retreat...now.
EDIT: I almost forgot!
I picked up my learners thingy for the exam [all the road rules etc], and it is huge. I'm serious, it is.

Well..approximately a week down
We've been on holidays for just over a weekn now, and I'm already thinking
'Gee, it'd be swell if I had employment right now...'
[Not in those words, but you get the general gist of it]
I've put my CV in a Thrifty Link hardware and the guy there said that he wasn't sure if there were any jobs, but he'd try to sort something out for me.
Also I went to action and the lady at the counter said that they didn't have any application forms, but if I came back next week, they could probably sort something out for me.
So yes, I'm not sure if it means they may have a job...or they're going to break my legs
o.O;;
