   The government took my money
Well, today was the day that everyone I know looks forward to: payday. When I opened a drawer in my cubicle, it was neatly tucked into the divider. It was my little chunk of high society. Finally! I get to spend my summer, well, spending!
But, as usual, the government has to find some way to ruin a perfectly good thing. First, it was a passport. Then, it was the whole "spot check" thing at the DMV. Now, it's just a simple three-letter word that makes the world come to a grinding halt and shout, "What the hell just happened?" Yes, it's tax.
One-fifth of my money was taken away for various and sundry reasons, none of which I particularly want to contribute to. Medicare I can handle because it was only eight bucks, but why do I have to pay Social Security tax? I want my money NOW, not when I retire! I have to go to college, for God's sake! What do old people have to do, change channels on the television? And why do I have to pay the state anything? What have they done for me recently? Oh, right, school.... Well, they should be paying ME for that.
In any case, I'm now pretty ticked that I got jipped out of eighty-eight dollars. Thinking about how much Dairy Queen I missed out on makes me sick to my stomach, almost as sick as I would be if I had eaten eighty-eight dollars worth of Dairy Queen. Speaking of which, I'm hungry.
