   The Guardians Quest *Prologue* continued (Finally)
The mist blew away from Moonleta and started to form something. It looked like a wolf but it had long poisonous purple claws, a jagged tail, and its fur was sleek and silver. Its eyes also glowed bright yellow in a mysterious kind of way. Then the creature spoke.
“What!?” it yelled at Moonleta. In a slight panic Moonleta started talking really fast.
“Well the mirror … and then!” She yelled. The creature was getting annoyed.
“Moonleta SHUT UP!” Moonleta froze with fear. The wolfish creature jumped up and landed on Moonleta’s head. It pointed a claw to the mirror wanting Moonleta to look. “Look the mirror’s shard is missing.” The creature was right. There used to be a small broken piece of the mirror hanging from the blue gem. Moonleta could never pull it off even with magic. Now the shard was gone. “What did you see in the mirror before the shard was gone?” The spirit asked.
“A human girl. She had eyes like mine.” Moonleta answered.
“I believe that the mirror shard is not gone but in a different place. You now hold the shard’s power and you can talk to this girl even though you come from different worlds.”
“You may be right!” Moonleta exclaimed. “I once read that for everything magical there is something normal. Maybe this girl is my normal side.”
“That is very possible but from what you told me she is not completely normal. She has a power similar to yours. She can sense the aura surrounding a person. This may be helpful when trying to find the other guardians.” Moonleta was confused.
“How would that help?”
“Ugh! Do I have to explain everything? You are almost fourteen and should be able to figure this out yourself.” Moonleta thought and finally found the answer.
“The incantation items!” She exclaimed. “The incantation items are made with Gemarian magic and an elemental aura. As long as the incantation item is in this world the item’s owner will be able to return to this world. If a human has the same aura as one of the guardians we can still make an incantation item. It won’t summon the human because an incantation item can only be owned by a magical being.” Moonleta paused. “But how will I be able to sense the humans’ aura if I am here? The mirror can’t help with that.” The creature looked as if it were going to die of anger.
“That is where the human girl comes into the problem. She is a human. She can sense auras. She can now talk to you and you can talk to her. Make sense yet?!”
“Yes… I believe I understand.” Moonleta answered.
“Good! I’m glad that my master is not a complete idiot!”
“Idiot!?” Moonleta yelled. “I am no idiot! You will see that I can work hard, and I will do the task that was assigned to me the day I was born! I will be the Moonlight Guardian of Crelaya!”
