My story got deleted. . .But, i've got another one!
I finally got the second book for Eragon, -which is called Eldest- and it ends just as cruelly as ythe first one! But! There is good news! Eragon is becoming a movie sometime in 2006! Yessssss! Lol. I really wish I had a scanner. . .'cause I drew a spiffy picture. . .last night. Too late for m parent's to know. Lol. I went horseback-riding! It was funnnnnnn....! I wrote another story since my other one got deleted. . .-cries- Here ya go;
Sericanisisa padded silently on the early morning grass. The dew soaked her breeches, and made her boots slick. Gigantic trees surrounded the meadow's hills. When the barn came in sight, it was black. It was too early even for the stable servants. As she came closer to the barn, she heard Spear nicker quietly, knowing this was part of a quiet routine. Sericanisisa trotted over to the first stall, opened the door, and the seventeen hand-high white stallion walked out.
Where do you want to go? Spear's deep kind voice came into Sericanisisa's mind.
Wherever you want to. I always choose, she sent back, her voice tired.
Then we will run. And we will be together. His voice held ripples of strength.
Sericanisisa took hold of some of Spears white, thick mane, and pulled herself up skillfully.
We should go to the river, Spear.
Yes, I would enjoy that.
Then we shall go there. How was your rest?
It was fitful. I did not like my dream. A man on my black borther was charging us. I woke up shortly after that. Now, how did you sleep? he asked, obviously tired too. I slept fine. Though my dream was the same. I'm not surprise due to the fact that we are linked at our minds. . . but still, this is unnerving. Let's talk about this later. I want a relaxing ride. We haven't ridden like this for a very long time. You may do whatever you want now. We're out of the castle's sight.
Whatever you want, Serican.
No! You're turn! At that Spear's hooves smoothly went into a slow cantering motion. They talked about random things for about an hour as they cantered down trail to the He'quew River.
Would you like to meld? asked Spear, slightly showing excitement. Yes, she replied excitedly. For a moment both Spear's and Serican's eyes went blurry, but second later, Serican saw things in more color then ever. Everything was brighter. Serican could smell her own happiness, she could hear every sound in the wood. Even a mere fall of a leaf. I am always amazed at your senses. No other horse I have ever met has them.
No, they don't. But there is a reason why. I am in a horse form. . . I can't be in my dragon form in Carivall. It would start a commotion.
True. I can't help but think of you as a horse, because, well, that's what you've always been. I can connect to other horses, but they're no fun. That's why I chose you. Because you told me to. And, I've only had you for a year! It's still a new concept!
Yes. . .does anyone else know you can speak to people and animals through mind-talk?
No. . .no one. I don't want anyone to know. It would be weird.
Yes. Keep it that way, Love filled Serican as well as Spear. They could never be parted. The sound of water dancing down the He-quew River filled their ears. Green, blossoming spring trees surrounded them, and the sun was beginning to stretch itself, tired of sleeping. It's drops of light landed on them as the strode on.
It's beautiful this early, isn't it Thereses? Serican only called Spear that when she was fully relaxed it was his dragon name, and to call him that might trigger someone's mind. It is, Serican. Would you like to wade?
Yes! But we will have to seperate. . . She though, disappointed. She had just begun to lossen up. . .the feel of his powerful muscles and magical blood ran through her body. I know. But it is enough to see you happy.
With that, their vison blurred again, and suddenly Serican was back in her own weak body. The river's waters hurried past them. She placed her right foot in the water after taking off her boots. It disrupted the flow, but it was warm.
It is warm, she informed him.
Perhaps I shall wade, too.
I hope so. It's more fun with you, she said, smiling at him. Water suddenly charged at her, proving Spear's love for water. "Ack! Spear! You're going to kill me!!" Serican screamed as said swam hurriedly away from the massive wave. Snorting, Spear clambered out of the river, then shook violently, spreading droplets of the He'quew River's water to and fro.
"We need to head back soon. It's around five." Spear looked at her with mock sadness, then , I'm hungry anyway, he said airly. Serican trudged out of the river and trotted over to the seventeen hand-high 'horse'. Bunching up mane yet again, Serican pulled herself up. Spear was still a bit damp, but she herself was soaked, so it made no difference. Tightening her legs, Serican was ready. "Let's go, Spear. . .I think I hear someone coming."
So late? I already know who it is.
Who?
It is merely a servant.
Which one?! If it's not Joyrigh, we're dead.
It's not. It is Amelia. Let's hide somewhere. Trotting as quietly as he could, and landing as softly as she could, they made their way swiftly over to a mound of bushes behind a large oak tree and English ivy.
"I thought I heard someone. . .but I guess not," muttered the confused servant. Still muttering, she drew up some water then walked loudly, crunching the dead leaves still there from winter, back to the barn.
We still cannot come out. She will look behind her at the slightest sound. Or hoofbeat, stated Spear after ten minutes or so.
True, so, let's wait a while. It's already getting brighter, though! Soon Mum will send a servant to wake me up. Spear bent his beautiful, long neck back and stared at her. His green-golden eyes were full or loyalty and pride. His ears pricked, and he whipped his head around.
What is it?
I don't know. Let's go, I don't want to start any trouble, he said, starting to move forward but a voice stopped him.
"Wait! Princess Sericanisisa!" An old women pulled herself out of thorns. Her dress, purple, yellow, and red, looked bloody. "Lend me your hand!"
Is she a threat? asked Serican.
No. Not that I can tell. . . though she seems to possess some kind of wild magic. "What's the problem?" she asked after Spear reassured her.
"I am stuck. . .please, lend me a hand." Serican jogged over there and took hold of the women's hand.
Darkness filled Serican's eyes. Suddenly she was in her room, watching herself holding a golden handle sword, and a silver blade, with red jewels lined down the entire right side. The sword spun in air infront of an older looking Serican. She noticed that her hair was pulled back, and saw pointed ears. Elf ears. That can't be right! she thought vigorously. She looked again at herslef and saw that she was muttering words. The scene changed quickly before her. A boy around her age was in woods that she knew well. He was bruised and bloody, but none the less handsome. He said words, too, that Serican couldn't hear, and a large bird flew to his shoulder. It was the size of a full-grown eagle, but the plumage was white and green. It went black again, and Serican gasped for air as her sight returned.
What happened?!
I do not know. . .I saw averything you did, but through your eyes. You have horrible eyesight.
Thanks, but that's not going to help this mater. That old women did someting. . .when he hand touched mine. . . "Are you going to help me?"
"Oh. . .yeah. Hey, what'd you do?"
"A simple reverse fortune. It doesn't happen often. . actually, I never knew it could happen. You must be half of the Original People. . ." The thought of being half of the original people made Serican's spine turn to steel. "I don't think so."
That woud explain a lot of things. Spear's deep voice helped the weird feeling growning in her gut.
Yes. . .it would. But I don't want her to suspect anything. Though, I think she already does. Spear nudged her on her chest with his big wihte head, pushing her back. "I'm coming, I'm coming." He snorted.
"You have quite a horse there. What kind is he? He looks like a black horse I saw in a vison. . ." Serican and Spear glanced at eachother, trying to make it not so obvious that they were linked at their mind. "He has green-golden eyes. . .the color of a golden dragon's eyes."
A rabbit was being chased by a wolf in Serican's stomach. "His sire had the same color eyes. They are rare, he was very expensive," she said, trying to make up an excuse for it. The woman looked at her, then nodded, though didn't lok convinced, and didn't try to hide it. "I don't believe you, Princess, but I cannot go against your word."
She is very suspsicious. We must go! I don't want her to pry any closer, Spear said, a slightly worried hum in his thoughts.
Okay. Try to act like a horse for once.
I shall try. For both of our sakes. "Well, I must go," Serican said, hoping to escape, "because, as you know, I am very busy. It was nice meeting you." The women looked at her with an expression that Serican couldn't read. "Remember what you have seen. And come back to me again. My name is Ju-Yahn'aei Krhan Lewqui."
Serican looked at her. "Remember it." Spear neighed as stupidly as he could, causing jumbled, queer snorts to come out of Serican's mouth. "Spear! I'm coming!" she managed to sputter. Ju-Yahn'aei looked at the place where his bridal should be and stated, "I see you don't ride him with a bridal. Why?"
"I really must go. I'm already late. . .but I will come see you sometime." With that Serican hoisted herself upon Spear's back gracefully. Spear automatically started to trot, then remembered he was supposed to be regular, and slowed down to a walk.
Walking is useless. We aren't going to get anywhere.
Then trot. But wait for me to signal. Serican kicked his side as softly as she could while making it very pronounced at the same time. He eagerly went into the faster pace. Serican looked behind her. The women was gone, nowhere in sight. . .She vanished! Serican said to the dragon. He smoothly went into a canter.
I know. . .but how? She is powerful in magic. . .and she is able to control it.
I've always wondered. . .do I have magic?
Yes. How come you haven never asked? he countered.
It always slips my mind until the next day. I have only had you for a year, she replied.
True. We need to hurry. The sun is already getting high in the sky. I will jump the fence and drop you off at the castle door. Then I will go back to my stall. You can say you were just coming to visit me.
Sounds like a plan. How long did it take--
Don't insult me. I have just thought of it. Mock anger surrounded his melodious voice. Well, hurry, she replied as Spear began a gallop. Thank you. You have done so many things for me in such a short time!
I try. It is joy and a curse, he said sarcastically.
Oh, thanks! Same here! she said in the same tone. They entered the pasture within ten minutes. Short, horse-eaten grass folded under Spears powerful hooves. Serican was crouched as low as she could get, as to not catch attention, Spears mane was long enough to cover half of her anyway. Serican's brown short hair slashed her pale cheeks. The wooden five foot fence was nearing. Closer and closer it got until it was a lenghth ahead. Spears mighty haunches pushed them off the ground, and for a moment, they were airborn, wind rushing at their faces. Big hooves struck the ground as they landed, shaking the ground before them.
Just drop me off here, Spear. It will give you enough time to jump over the fence, and the trees hide us well. Spear slowed more smoothly then any other horse, and faster. Serican hurridly slide off, then rearing, Spear turned around, and headed at the fence again. She watched Spear clear it easily, as though he has wings. Well, he does, she thought. His powerful legs beat the air as he reared again, this time in happiness.
Serican had just turned around from watching the joyful dragon in deguise when she saw barefoot, dirty feet. She looked up and say a boy about her age. The boy from her vision. Her eyes widened, and sensing her surprise and fear, Spear whipped around, and ran to the fence, jumped ove it, not caring about his form. He was beside her in no time. The dirty boy stared back at her in awe. His brown-green eyes stared straight into Serian's purple ones. Spear conected with her intantly.
He's the one from our vision, Serican.
Yes. . .but how did he get here? Was the vision going on when we saw it?
No, I don't think so. . .that would be called scrying.
Then what? You said I have magic. How much?
I do not know how much, he said simply. I cannnot tell by you. You never stop surprising me. I suppose you could easily break into someone's mind.
Why would I want to do that?!
I don't know, but you could. You cannot make it lightening though. You're not strong enough yet. It would tire you greatly. What should we do with him? He is strong. . .he could be a wizard. Maybe. Spear looked at the boy accusingly.
Don't look at him so cruelly. He hasn't done anything.
It is not a dragon's nature to trust anyone other then their Rider. Besides, you shouldn't trust him yet either.
I don't. But don't look at him like he's trying to take over Carivalle, she pleaded. He already looked sad.
Fine.
The boy spoke up, his voice, tired and quivering. "I. . .have something for you." Both of their minds lunged for his, to find out his purpose. It was too much for him. He collapsed only a few seconds later, unable to keep them up, but he didn't want anyone in his mind. He shut it down. Maybe I should do that part, Spear. You're a dragon. You can easily overwhelm anyone. Except me. But only because I have opened myself to you. He hasn't. . .he is strong. . .
Perhaps. . .Spear mumbled something Serican couldn't make out. We should get him in a bed, Spear. I'm going to ride you up to the castle. I'll hold him infront. Okay?
There was no reply, but he lowered his back. Serican put the boy on carefully. Spear got up as smoothly as he could, but the boy still slid a little to the left. Quickly, Serican pulled him over to the right. Stand still, she told the dragon. He did. Serican clambored up onto him, careful to not hurt the boy. Are you ready?
I am ready.
Canter, but do it smoothly. Rockingly.
The extra weight didn't seem to affect Spear at all. His muscles hardened as he used them to get to the castle. A slight wind tickled Serican's face, and danced with her hair. The boy moved a bit, not used to being on a horse. He has probably never been on a horse, Serican thought. Poor thing. . .Spear snorted. Brown-green eyes suddenly opened. Gasping, the boy looked around wildly, then muttered something. His strength seemed to come back for a moment, only long enough to get into a sitting position on Spear. His hair was dirty blonde with a few white-ish streaks. It was short, but not too short. His back, slumped out of exhaution, had bloody spots. An espescially wet, red, place caught Serican's eyes. By the look of all that blood, he was injured badly.
He needs help, Spear.
I know. But we still cannot trust him.
I am going to call Mum. Spear's canter faultered slightly.
Wh..what?!
I must. I am royal. I have to help him.
Fine. Don't make it too obviously, okay?
I will try. It will be faint anyway, we are still far from her. Still holding the boy, Serican reached out with her mind to her mothers. Eyes closed tightly out of concentration. Mum. . .Mum. . .come out to the backyard. . .come to me. . .we are in trouble. . .
I am coming, Serican!
Surprise forced Serican's eyes open, She replied! How--
That was her thought. She was worried about you, and said so in her thought.
Ah. . .strange.
Serican saw her Mother running out of the castle door. "Serican! Are you alright?!" Sighing, Serican told Spear to stop. He did, and as she slid off, the boy woke, saw who was before him and bowed. Before he could get back, though, his knees hit the ground, as he collapsed again. Having a hard day, today, he is.
Yes, he is. I will go back now. I love you, youngling.
And I love you, too. "Who is he?" Serican's Mum asked curiously, unable to help herself from frowning. "Let's not worry about that right now. He needs help, we need to get him in bed and work on his wounds. Can Spear come into the castle? He is needed, please don't ask. I'll tell you later." Still looking at her, she nodded with a raised eyebrow. A servant waited inside. "Take the boy and my daughter--"
"And Spear."
"And Spear to the Infirmery. Do it now, and quickly. I do not want to hear about this among the other servants." The servant, slightly alarmed, motioned with his hand, and walked briskly ahead. Serican and Spear--with the boy on his back--followed. "My name is Carlime. But, you can call me Lime," the servant said, suddenly speaking. "Um. . .thanks. . .Lime. I'm--"
"I know who you are! Everyone knows who you are!" Lime exclaimed. His seemed very talkative. "Well, it's nice meeting you, but we really must get there quickly."
Lime looked at her sharply, "I'm trying! I've just forgotten where the Infirmery is. . ." Digusted, Serican screamed, "You don't know where it is?! Fine! Spear and I know! We'll go! Nice talking to you!"
I think you may have gone a bit overboard. You must remember, your words are very important. If you blow up like that to some townsperson, you would get a very bad reputation, Spear said calmy.
I don't care! We need to get there, and now! Already going there, Serican began running, confident the boy would stay on to Spear's slow canter. Hoofbeats echoed around the wooden and stoned hallway. Purple-dyed rugs were laid on the floor. In the dark, it looked like a snow day, only the snow was black. . .covering everything. Serican slowed to a walk, and they boomed into the Infirmery. A nurse greeted them calmy. She was old.
"Hello, Serican, dear! A regular patient--"
"Risa! We've got a boy who needs work." Risa looked at her, then the boy, and said to a younger nurse, "We need a clean bed, dear." The girl hurried to another room. She came out shortly and said, "We have one over here." Spear walked with them, the boy still on his back, into the quiet room. A bed was made. Serican gently placed the boy on his new bed, and asked Risa, "Risa. . .may I stay with him?"
She snorted. "Of coure you may, Princess! I cannot bind your wishes!" Serican nodded and sat down on the bed next to him. His eyes flickered open,. They were blood red, and whirled around wildly. His whole face was pale. Only his eyes added color. The red lanterns shut as quickly as the opened and his breathing went into a pattern again. Serican relaxed a bit, but the body was still deathly pale. This worried her. Eventually Risa told her she had to eat and sleep.
Serican and Spear made a habit of going to see the boy once a day. At night, when everyone was asleep, and they could freely sit next to him. They would talk for an hour, but sometimes they talked for a few moments. Both tired from riding--they did it more and more often. Sometimes three tiems a day. That would amount to six hours of riding.
Is he still only sleeping? asked Spear. He had come to like the boy somewhat, even though they both knew nothing about him.
Yes. . .I wonder how long he wil. It's been two weeks already. He could starve, and he had said something. . .'I have something for you.' I need to know what it was. Or is.
You will. A powerful, almost familiar voice covered their minds. It's mere presence was. . .amazingly strong. They hadn't even felt it enter.
Who are you?! How did you. . .umm. . .I'm really confused right now, Serican said, alarmed. How could anyone other than Spear enter her mind? The force was amazing. Serican looked down at the boy. He was still asleep. But his hands twitched oddly. A lond strip of dark brown hair lay still on his pillow.
Sweat raced down Serican's forhead. The feeling of someone that pwoerful in her head was too much.
Why. . .don't you. . .just. . .come to us. . .in. . .your body?
Ah! Yes! I should have guessed this. . .I shall see you tomorrow morning before dawn! With your dragon, of course. . .
What. . .are you. . .talking about?
Oh don't even bother. . .he said in a bored voice. Be there or. . .don't. And with that the cloud left her mind. Chills tickled her body.
Who was that, Spear?
I don't know. He was strong, though. You're lucky you didn't pass out like the little wizard! he said bitterly. He's only brought us bad luck! Serican glared at the dragon in disguise. He does not, and you know that. We're the ones with bad luck. The muscular horse shifted, making a 'clack' each time one of his hooves landed. His discomfort was obvious. "We're going to have to go to Ju-Yahn'aei Krhan Lewqui. She can help him. He hasn't eaten in such a long time. . .much less drank. Well take him tonight." Spears head flew up instantly. You can't truely think she will help, can you?! he asked, his voice so poisonous, Serican recoiled.
What do you hold against her? Her voice was much angrier than she had wanted. It made her stomache churn, the thought of losing her bond with Spear.
I'm sorry, Spear. I didn't want to make you angry. . .I only want to see what's wrong with the boy. He looked just as sorry. I am sorry, also. A rustle on the bed jolted the two awake from their trance. The boy grunted at the effort of pulling his muscular body up. Both of them looked, amazed, at the boy.
"Hi," his voice was quiet, as though he had not used it in a year. Serican shook herself, and then said, "Hello! My name is Sericanisisa, Princess of Carivall! How are you feeling?" He grunted again. "I'm fine. Hand me some. . .food. And water. . .wait. . . how long have I been here?!" Serican was caught of guard by his urgency. "Oh! Right! About two and a half, three weeks." At that the boy quickly threw the covers off and began to get up, when--what is seemed-- was a coughing fit made him gag. Blood fell on the floor under him, splattering Serican's shoes. Spear neighed angrily and stomped his hooves on the stone in protest.
Tell him he will not be getting up! Spear's roar rang in Serican's mind. Instinctivly, she pluged her ears with her hands. "Ah, yes. . .well, Spear. . .I mean, you can't get up. I command you to stay down."
"But I need to get this to--wait! You're the Princess with short brown hair!" he exclaimed. Serican was getting confused again. "What. . .are you talking about?!" Serican questioned.
"Oh. . .of course you don't know. . .or do you? You must know. . ."
"Know what?!" Serican's patience was eating away.
"Ah! You apparently don' know. . .well, then, we really must go to a safe place where no one will hear us. . but I can't walk, so; Klue Wane." Serican's mind suddenly felt clear. The room fell silent, and the feel of warm and protection held onto Serican and Spear. "What did he do?" Serican wondered aloud.
Spear answered. He did magic, Serican.
What does it do?
I shields this room from anyone who wants to hear. Serican felt alive. Her muscles twitched with energy, her hands clenched. Her barefoot toes wiggled on the stone.
"You've never used your magic, have you?" asked the boy.
"Oh. . .um, no. I didn't know I had it for all my life. Until Spear told me." Spear bobbed his head. "Hey, what's your name? I've told you mine, I should know yours."
"Of course. Sorry, I haven't been around human's for a very long time. My name is Euke. It's a pleasure, and a privalige to meet you, Princess." Serican was surprised by his manners. "Likewise, Euke. Now, why don't you tell me why you're here and what I don't know about?" Serican asked in a more patient tone. "Oh! And how old are you? I know it's not important, I just want to know. . ." she mumbled.
"A fair question. I am one-hundred and seventeen. But you must understand that I am a wizard. This is quite young." She was shocked, he looked to be only her own age, sixteen. "Oh, wow. . . that's pretty old." He chuckled, and said, "I'm sure you will live as long as a wizard. You have magic too, you must remember." Serican nodded.
He seems nice enough. But why is he here? He still hasn't answered that, Spear pointed out.
I dont know. I'll ask again.
"I suppose you are wondering why I am here by now, right?" Serican and Spear nodded again. "Now, you must understand that I was to get this to you by the time you were born. I was a bit late, but for a good reason. And I will tell you it when we leave." Serican gaped at Euke. "Why can't you tell us now?! I have a right to know! And where are we going?! What are you talking about? What am I supposed to have?!" Her mind circled with questions. Euke sighed. "I know you're eager to have these answered, but not now. Now is not the time." Euke's voice was calm, and it irritated Serican. How could he do this to her? A rap on the door brok her thoughts of how unkind Euke was. "Come in," Serican replied to the knock. Euke was sitting up in the bed to show the he was fine and could get up, but Risa refused. "It's only been two and a half weeks! Those wounds you had would take at leased two months to heal! Get back to sleep!"
"But I'm fine! I can even wal--" a shapr glare from Risa stopped him mid-sentance. "Or maybe I'm not. . .my side seems to be paining me anyway. . ." Risa smiled. "Good! Now, get in that bed before I get Spear to shove you in it!" Euke plopped onto the bed instantly. Risa left, satisfied.
Euke threw the sheet of right after the door closed. "What are you doing?!" Serican queried. He sat on the bed, tying the sheets together frantically. Euke turned and looked at her, then replied, "We've got to go. It's now or tonight, and we need to travel far tonight." Serican wasn't ready to go, though.
"We'll go tonight. I must have at leasted on latst dinner with my parents. And, we need to visit someone." Euke raised an eyebrow, then nodded. "Fine, but we'll need horses." Serican began to argue but he stopped her. "Listen. Spear can't carry us both. I know, he's a dragon, but he must stay as a horse for a little while. And he'd attract attention."
I would, unfortunatly. Dragons are kept in the King's Court. Where that is, no one knows. Only the king himself, said Spear. Serican patted his rock-hard shoulder.
Yes, I know.
I can't go into my dragon form unless we combine our magic, anyway.
You never told me that, Serican stated thoughtfully, not really minding this. They had as long as they lived to learn about eachother. You don't mind being a horse?
No, you can ride me easier, and I can roan freely. The no wings thing, though, is not as good. Serican laughed out loud, and Euke gave her a puzzled look. "Oh, um, sorry. I was. . .umm, thinking about something."
"Right, then," Euke replied, still looking confused. "I'll come by your room around twelve, is that reasonable?" Serican looked at Spear, who looked content. "Yes, that's fine. I can get a horse ready for you."
"Thanks," he said as he played with a smooth wooden stick. He twirled it, making a blur of brown.
His brown-green eyes quickly averted the stick and turned to Serican. "It's a wand," as if he could read her mind. "Magicks use them to harness their magic."
I have seen those before, said Spear's rumbling voice. Euke closed his eyes and the wand stopped. He held it in his right hand like a pen. His mouths moved, but Serican head nothing. Euke wrote in the air, and a golden shimmer stayed behind his writings. Serican watched in awe as letters appeared, and she read, "I am tired now, and need ot rest. See you tonight." And right when she was done, it disappeared. "Wow. . .Euke, how did you do that?" Euke nodded his head. "It's not hard. You'll learn how soon, if you're as talented as we have hoped you are." He paused. "Now, go. We're going to have a long night, Princess." Serican bowed her head, and said quietly, "I'll see you tonight." Spear lowered his white head, too, and walked away with her.
As they headed down the castle hall, Serican noticed a servant, who, looked very famliar. It was Lime. Spear snorting, mocking the servant's stupidity. Lime turned around, looked shocked, then choked out, "Princess Serican! What a. . . .pleasant, surprise." Serican could tell he was only being polite. "Hello, Lime. I'm just going to my room," Serican said the last part quickly, for him to know she needed no assistance. He didn't catch on.
"Let me accompany you, Princess." Serican had to stope herself from telling Lime not to. It wouldn't be very Princess-like according to Spear. But he's a dragon, she though. He doesn't know anything about princesses.
Yes, I do, Spear said, scaring half of Serican's soul to death. She turned to Lime. "Lime, thank you so much for asking, but I'm in a hurry, and well . . ." She paused, knowing they were both remembering the last time. "I think it's best that I go with Spear alone." Lime nodded. "Whatever is suitable for you, Princess Serican," he replied with fake happiness. Spear and Serican hurried past the servant, not wanting him to suspect anything. Serican rolled her purple eyes.
He shouldn't work here. I don't like him, and neither does Mother. You can tell, Serican told Spear.
I agree, Serican. He is not. . .normal. Spear's words didn't surprise her.
I can tell. What is different about him? Serican questioned.
Hmm. . .he feels wrong. I do not know how to explain it. Not as a horse. Serican understood that.
Finally her door was in sight. "Ah, nothing like a good bath, right Spear?" Serican wasn't really asking, more like stating, but Spear still agreed. I should get to my stall, Serican, he said as Serican undressed. Completely naked, Serican glared at him. "You could have said that before I undressed!" Spear snorted, then reared as he turned around. Tugging her clothes, Serican almost fell over twice. You're the clumsiest human I have ever met, Spear commented. Serican turned to him, not entirely trusting herself not to throw her tunic at him.
"I know, I know! You and my Mother, I can't escape!" she screamed, toppling onto her bed in effort to get on her boots. Spear whinnied.
"I'm coming!" Serican replied, and finshed tying her laces. Spear waited for Serican to open the door, as opposed to breaking it down, which he kindly pointed out. Thank you for your thoughtfullness, Spear, Serican answered sarcastically. Without warning, she lounged her self at the horse, grabbing mane as he trotted. Spear began cantering, just to make it harder. If they ever when into battle, they would both need to know how to do this. Serican struggled slightly. "Rrruugghh," Serican grunted as she clambored on the moving Spear.
"Aughh! That is not fit for a Princess!" said a sudden outburst. The voice was famliar, and not a welcome one at the moment. Serican, though on, stopped spear and told him to go to her Mother.
Go to Mother. there's nothing we can do now, Serican said, resigned.
. . .Do we have to? You Mother can tell that I'm different from other horses. . .maybe if you didn't ride me without a bridal. . .He said, with a hint of anger. I'll get found out, and you know what would happen then, right?
Just go, Spear. We'll be fine. And gone, by tonight. A sudden hit at her mind's barrier made Serican concentrate no longer on Spear. It was powerful and sharp, like a sword. Serican didn't realize she was grunting until she tried to open her eyes--to which she succeeded to doing-- when she saw her Mother staring at her with a practiced smile. Her eyes burned like fire with strength Serican never knew was there.
Please excuse some mistakes, I haven't read it oveer yet.
