She came back from the dead?
Arg. I had this big long post typed out, and then, what do you know, my computer ate it.
But yes, hey everyone! Oh dear, sorry it's been so long since I last updated. To be honest, I've been blogging more at LiveJournal lately, since they have a Friends Only filter, and I can't be sure who exactly reads my posts here *looks around suspiciously*. But I'll still post here. Longer, more personal posts will go to my LJ, but I'll still hang on to TheO for quite some time. So, if any of you has a LiveJournal, please let me know so I can add you there!
Wow, summer is flying by so fast. I mean, Back To School commercials are already airing on TV -- depressing, if you ask me. But I still have AFO to look forward to, and it's going to be freakin' AWESOME since atreyu7slip, Sakura02, and Diana will be there. And my costumes are lookin' good for AFO -- Melfina cybersuit is finished, and Rosiel is almost done (I should finish him in a few days).
Oh! Before you leave, I posted a new fan art! I'd reeeeaaaallly appreciate it if you'd check it out! Thank you!

Finally, a Metrocon report!
Wow, everyone. Sorry my "Post-Metrocon" update has taken so long. I will post some pictures soon, but until then, here's a little something that one of my friends found while scouring YouTube: News footage of Metrocon
And yes, my roommate, Sakura02, and I were on the news (me as Rei, her as Guilty Gear's May) for a good five seconds at the beginning of that clip. XD
To sum up our Metrocon experience, we had a blast! Metrocon is known for its events, including the Anime Human Chess Match, Anime Idol singing competition, Fantasy Masquerade, midnight Matsuri Rave, and AMV, costume, and cosplay contests. I went to Metrocon last year, but I was astonished at how much the convention grew in just one year. It was hard to meet up with some people due to getting lost in the crowd, but luckily, I got to see and spend time with my good friends (Tristin, Diana, my roommate) as well as meet some awesome new people.
Friday: Right after Sakura02 and I got through the registration line, that guy's news crew approached us, and voila! Five seconds of fame. XD We browsed around in the dealer's room, and later that evening, went to the Fantasy Masquerade (which is like the anime prom) since my friend Diana was a cast member. There was a story going on, and after a song or two of dancing, the cast members would come out and act out a scene of the story. It was a big improvement over last year's dance! After the dance, Diana, Sakura02, and I called it a night and walked back to the hotel to get some shut-eye.
Saturday: After eating a breakfast at the hotel, we walked back to the convention center and got in line for the Anime Chess Match. The fight scenes this year were amazing! The cast really worked their arses off -- lots of dramatic flips and falls off stage. After the Chess Match, we saw the Cosplay contest, and later that evening, stuck around for the Anime Idol singing contest. However, the highlight for me was the midnight rave, surprisingly. We stayed out dancing (glow sticks and all) until the rave closed at 3am! There was a guy dressed as a giant stick of Pocky that the crowd went crazy for. XD You don't see a dancing giant stick of Pocky every day, now do you?
Sunday: We slept in 'til about 10 o'clock and decided to order pizza while Diana went to help one of her friends enter the costume contest. When we got the pizza, we met up at the convention center with Tristin and Diana and had a nice lunch of Domino's pizza and cheese sticks. Since none of us entered the costume contest, we just mingled around the convention center and took pictures for a while. Sakura02 sold some of her artwork, and then we went to watch the costume contest. Diana's friend, the one she escorted to the costume contest pre-judging, won "Most Creative Costume"! After the costume contest, we just mingled for a little bit longer and called it a weekend.
I'll post pictures in my next post -- I don't have time right now.

Lots of traveling!
Hey everyone! Sorry I didn't post last week, but I was in Georgia visiting someone very near and dear. I had such a blast! In case you're wondering, I was visiting my friend Roy, who you might know on this site as atreyu7slip. Roy, you and your family are some of the nicest people I've ever met. Thank you so much for putting up with me for an entire week! I really felt like part of the family.
And it's already time for Metrocon! Yes, it starts tomorrow! I'm leaving tomorrow morning at the crack of dawn for Tampa (Don't you just love how most of the panhandle is in a different time zone than the rest of Florida? >_<). But it's a small price to pay for the fun and cosplaying madness. I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone there! Anywho, here's my cosplay schedule thus far:
Friday -- Rei Ayanami
Fantasy Masquerade -- "Formal" Rei (basically just Rei in a dress)
Saturday -- Eternal Sailor Neptune
Sunday -- Akito Sohma
And that's my lineup for the weekend. I'll be sure to take pictures and post them sometime next week.

It's that time of week again!
Hey, everyone! I've finally gotten around to posting again for the week. I'm back home from Wisconsin now, though I won't be for long. On Tuesday, I leave again for Georgia, and then a couple days after that, I go to Metrocon! I'm getting my fill of traveling in this summer, that's for sure.
Not much has happened since I got home. I've just been doing the usual: painting, drawing, and sewing. I painted a picture for my sister, since she mentioned she'd like a painting to hang in the baby's room. She thought an anime character might go over well, especially for the young'un (we found out it's a girl, by the way!) This baby already has its own anime character! Now watch it be born and look nothing like it. XD
And I finally finished my Sailor Neptune costume! I'd had most of the costume finished for a while -- the gloves were holding me up since I realized I didn't have enough fabric to make them. So, instead, I just ordered a pair from Ebay. You can check out the pictures in my cosplay gallery right here on Otaku.
A friend of mine that I hadn't seen in a while was supposed to come over a few days ago, but alas, he got sick and couldn't make it. He's really my only friend back home, now that I think of it. I met all of my other friends either at college or anime conventions, so it's a bit lonely when I go home for vacation. And I feel strange calling people, like I'm interrupting them or something, you know? Maybe that's just me and my anti-phone ways. I need to call my friends already. ^^'
Oh, and I made a cake earlier today -- white chocolate raspberry, yum.

A Wisconsin Post
Hey everyone! As you can tell from the title, I'm in Wisconsin. I've been here since Monday, but I haven't had a chance to post until now. It's funny; you'd think with school over with I'd have more time to be on Otaku. Really, I've just been preoccupied with sewing and painting and doing all that artsy-nerdy stuff, so my internet time has been dwindling. But, I'll try to get in at least a weekly update from now on.
So, what's been going on in the dairy state? I'm getting to see my family, which has its ups and downs. On the upside, my sister, who's going to have a baby in August, is still her cheery self. She's so much fun to be around, and by looking through one of her 'baby names' books, I found out my name was popular in the 1940s, 50s, and 60s. I have a vintage name! ^_^ Her husband is also doing well.
My dad, as I said a few posts back, will be retiring in a few months. He's planning on moving to Costa Rica this fall, which is awesome. He really needs a change of scenery with all the crap he's had to deal with this year. He took me shopping yesterday, surprisingly. I got a shirt from Hot Topic that I had been wanting for a while, along with some other things. And my dad absolutely despises shopping, so he gets major dad props for taking me and not complaining once!
Of course, my grandma and uncle (on my mom's side) are still nutters. o_o I won't go into details on that.
And that's about it here in Wisconsin. I return to Florida on Tuesday, and a week later, I go to Georgia to visit my friend Roy! W00t!

Home again!
Man, have I missed this place! It's so nice to sleep in my comfy, queen-sized bed again. I do miss my friends from college, though. It gets kind of lonely at home, even though I am enjoying my solitude.
So, finals week was a tough battle, but I emerged victorious. Last Thursday, my mom and I packed the car with all of my things, and before heading back to the hotel with her, I stayed to watch a movie with a few of my friends. We watched this Japanese film called "Wild Zero," I believe. J-rockers fighting alien zombies equals awesomeness. XD It was so stupid and hilarious, and absolutely the perfect note to end the semester on. Then, on Friday morning, mom and I made the drive back to Pensacola.
Since then, I've just been relaxing and working on my Eternal Sailor Neptune costume. It's coming along well . . . or at least, I hope it is. I'll post pictures when I finish it, and also, when I wear it to Metrocon. I also hope to start my Melfina bodysuit this weekend. I don't think I'll have that done by Metrocon, but I need to get started on it, at least.

Wow, she actually updates!
Hey everyone! Just making a short post to wish you all a Happy Easter! Just my luck, I have final exams starting tomorrow, so this weekend has pretty much been Study Fest '06 for me. However, I will be going home on Friday, so I am ecstatic about that. College is nice and all, but I'm really looking forward to going home.
It sounds like I'm going to do a bit of traveling this summer, too. I'll be going to Wisconsin twice, once in May, and again in August, when my sister has her baby. That's right, I'm going to be an auntie! Later in May I'm going to Georgia to visit Roy. Then in June I'll go to Metrocon in Tampa, and in July, Anime Festival Orlando. And that's my agenda for the summer.
Also, my dad's moving to Costa Rica this fall, so I might go visit him over Christmas break. o_o Random, much? It seems like my family is drastically changing this year. I know things change all the time, but I'm really noticing it more than usual right about now. I'm finishing my first year of college, my sister is having a baby, my dad's retiring and moving to Costa Rica, my step-dad got back from Iraq, my mom got a new job, etc., etc. That might not seem like a lot, but I dunno -- it's just different, I guess.
Well, I'll update again after I'm done with exams. Once again, have a great Easter!

Hey everyone. Sorry I haven't been posting or commenting in so long. I'll be sure to get over to your sites later today. Oh, and if anyone has tried to send me a PM lately, I'm really sorry, but my PM box is not working correctly and I can't read it. Has anyone else been having that problem? My PM box will say I have an unread message, but then when I go to read it, it's not there. I hope I can fix it soon, because I love receiving PM's from you guys.
Anyway, I turned 19 on Friday. Usually birthdays aren't such a big deal for me, but this year's was really, really special. I guess what made it so special was the fact that I actually had friends to share it with. I didn't really have many close friends in high school, and the friends I did have lived quite a ways away. But I've met so many great people here in college, and all of my friends here actually went out and got me a cake and celebrated with me. That was really nice of them, and I love them dearly.
But you know what? That's just the tip of the iceberg. Someone very near and dear to me came to visit this weekend (you might know him on this site as atreyu7slip). Man, we had such a blast! I swear, good times were had. After hanging out with the entire gang, he and his family took me out to eat, and then he took me to the school's Spring Formal. It was so awesome hanging out with him, and I can't believe how nice his family is. They treated me just like family.
And apparently there's a war going on for possession of my left foot. Yes, it's like uranium and truffles combined! XD But that's between Kephren and A7S.

Sundays are so boring.
Well, I finally changed my site theme for March! It's hard to believe I'll be turning 19 in under three weeks. I feel so old now. Especially since most of you guys are in the 14-17 range. Oh, the pain of growing old. I think I can feel the arthritis spreading through my fingers already.
Here are some more MegaCon pictures, by the way:
I'm supposed to be pulling a sword from her chest, but we had to make do with a rose.
Utena and Anthy yet again.
Shoes!
Yeah, you can actually see part of the monster heels in this picture. Taken at the costume contest.
And that's it for today.
