I'm Back!
Hey everyone! I just got back home last night. That trip to the mountains was just what I needed. I have so many ideas for new fan art now ^_^.
Anyway, I had a fun time. In Boulder, we walked around the town and saw the historic district. I also got to roller blade, 'cause they have a huge bike path that crosses nine miles through the town; it was rather hilly and steep in parts, resulting in some wipe-outage, LOL. Then on our second day in Boulder, we saw the Celestial Seasonings tea factory and the Leaning Tree museum of Western art. The tea factory was so cool; especially the 'mint room', where they store all of their mint and spearmint; it really clears your sinuses.
After seeing Boulder, we spent about five days in a little town called Estes Park, which is nestled right in the Rocky Mountains. Stephen King was inspired to write 'The Shining' when he stayed there(at the old and supposedly haunted Stanley Hotel), how cool is that?
After puttering around the town, we went to Rocky Mountains National Park and did a lot of hiking; we saw a few waterfalls, a lot of elk and deer, and an abandoned mine. We also drove up one of the mountains to the Alpine tundra level, and did some hiking up there as well. The views were spectacular, and seeing glaciers and snow caps in the middle of summer was awesome.
