Chapter 2
The sun rises marking a new day. Lazily opening my eyes I raise my arms as though trying to keep the dream alive.

Waking from my daze, I hear howling and barking in the distance. I sigh and think to myself When will they ever giver up?. A deeper voice echoes inside 'never'. The chill returns and I shake it off.

Rising to my feet I pick up a stray leaf and and lay it on where I had slept. Hovering my hand over the leaf I say a single word and continue on my journey.

"Feh!" I rub my shoulders vigorously and stretch my stiffened legs. The barks and yelps draw nearer. Smiling playfully I wave in their direction then take off once again.

The wind pasts through gently and the suns rays shimmer down in thin streams as I walk through the forest. I began thinking, Does anyone know the name of the this forest? Probably not.

The larks twitter and sing, the trees shake their leaves like tambourines, making a beautiful melody. I must enjoy this symphony while I can, I must embrace this splendor.

What more can I do?

Sure I believe in my own power, but sometimes power alone is not enough. I fear that dreaded day when it comes. The day that has haunted me like a phantom or a spector looming in my shadows.

A tear falls and I quickly wipe it away. I cannot cry, I mustn't.

Quickening my pace I run to drive off the negative thoughts that plague my mind. Feeling the wind caressing my body I smile like a young-ling and cheerfully cry out in my heart. It seemed as though nothing could ruin the mood I was in. Nothing. As I was about to jump into the air, a sword glimmered in front of me.

There to my surprise came another hunter. All my happiness drained from my being. I stood there motionlessly. Nothing is as good as it seems. I saw how ridiculous I can be, by simply letting my guard down for one second.

The hunter appeared from the trees. The birds stopped their singing, the trees shook no more. Time froze. All I did was smile.
