memory
as u ppl already know, i was broght up in an orphanage. kids there kicked me, punched me and yet, they were my first friends. we didnt really have "true" names there, only a few did if their parents cared to name them, but others like me were called rascals by the ppl who worked in the orphanage. cassidy was the name i chose for myself when i was adopted but in the orphanage, all the kids called me and each other "animal" names. like there was this boy who was part of our secret food-stealers group (they didnt feed us much, often so a couple of us would find a way to steal food for the rest of us), he was called grey fox. mine was black cat, because i only went with him to steal food at night. but there was this girl who was orphaned around the same age i was, and the moment we met we became close friends. her nick name was blue horse because she used to love to run (and would often get in trouble because of that) until that day when she tripped over a brick and dislocated her left leg, of course she got some big brusies. but in those days, the orphanage didnt have a lot of money so she didnt get the proper treatment and has stopped running ever since i last saw her. after that she was always so sad and gloomy. but one day she was adopted and no matter how hard she fought to stay, she was taken away. after that, whenever someone visited the orphanage, i tried to be the best i could, for i could no longer take staying there without blue horse. one day a women along with a little girl, a head shorter than me visited and adopted me. i was so happy at first, but soon it felt as if i had jumped from the fryng pan and onto a plate. that woman treated me as a maid of some sort and her daughter as an "older sister" to me. i sorta wish that i had stayed in the orphanage but at least i have more freedom now... but too bad i didnt ask blue horse for the name she chose when she was adopted.
this is the end of my story so far. . . .
if u're out there blue horse,
then i hope u r well and can read my message to u.
maybe someday we can meet again
Signed,
Black Cat
