Shadows
Shadows envelope the world The Moon is the only light A single cloud floats in the sky And a distant clock strikes midnight Shadows wrap around the land As if placed there by an unseen hand A light wind blows in the trees A blue-eyed wolf walks in the woods All alone, but free Shadows are what make the night And, in timid souls inspires fright The sun soon rises to mark the day As the shadows slowly burn away
