Gah...More!!
Sorry I haven't updated in forever!! Well, here's the next part! Bwahahah! Long posts! XD
Cothine shifted into a light run when she caught sight of Atsui. He was gliding across a path linking to the main entrance. She caught him in no time at all, and he flinched to see her. “You!” She giggled. “You!” She repeated. He looked at her for a second, then adjusted his hat, and said, “So, what do you want?” Cothine slowed down a bit. “Just to say hi and...” She paused, the medallion burning a hole through her skin. “Augh!!” She doubled over in pain, and collapsed on the ground. Atsui bent over her, calling, “Hello? Girl! Hey, girl!” He blocked out the sunlight, and Cothine saw a pendant swinging around his neck. Its blue glow made her stare. It twirled slightly, and sunlight bounced off it. For a second, she winced, and then all pain vanished. She relaxed, and felt strangely happy. Cothine closed her eyes again, and smiled. Atsui’s hand was smoothing her hair, feeling her forehead. “P…Phoenix…” He said soothingly. She raised her barely numb hand, and put hers on top of his. “Atsui, I’m…fine.” Cothine felt the tension come out of his hand and he helped her pull herself back up. Silently, he picked her up, and began gliding to the nurse’s. “A…Atsui! Wait…” Cothine coughed. She slumped, still weak from her attack. “Go to sleep, little phoenix.” She grunted her reply. “I’m not…little.” The sky above her started to become black dots, and she heard what sounded like Atsui singing. “Hum da la, da dum ha.” Before she slipped away into unconsciousness, she whispered, “You know it…”
“God, Cothine, you scared me to death!!!” Erika cried over the side of the nurse’s small hospital bed. Cothine sat up, her back sore and her arms aching. “Where am I? Where’s...?” She hurriedly threw the covers off, frantically blurting something to Erika. “He, he, he knows! He knows, Erika!!! He…” She felt like her head was being squeezed, and she lay back down on the bed. Erika rubbed her face. “Aw, you poor thing…” Cothine faintly heard a door open and close. Rough footsteps and a bag being set down. “Cothine…Cothine?”
