Bullet The Blue Sky: Tattoimaru’s weapon
*episode 6*
Kirara lands on the devastated mountainside. Her riders dismount and begin to examine the wasteland. Miroku walks to a small stone pillar jutting out above the rubble. He says, “This was the epicenter; the blast came from here.” Sango approaches him. He continues, “This pillar was protected from the blast.” Sango says, “Some demon weapons protect the user.” Miroku nods, “My thoughts exactly. Here,” he points in front of the pillar, “A barrier stood here for many years; then it was broken. But not by the blast.” He goes further, “The barrier sealed a demonic aura of great power. Someone released that power and then it destroyed this place.” Sango says to her partner, “I have to hand it to him; he’s good.” Ignoring the compliment, Miroku says, “What is unclear is weather the demon turned on its liberator or if it merely wished to show its might.” Sango says, “You would think that if it was this powerful, it would have freed itself; unless…” “Yes,” Miroku says, “Unless. Unless it required something to unlock its power. Something like a wielder. I suspect that it was, in fact, a demonic weapon which was sealed here. Whoever unlocked this tomb now has possession, if not control of that weapon.” Sango asks, “What do you mean control?” Miroku says; “The strongest demon weapons have their own will. Only an equally strong mind could control such a weapon. Others would be controlled by it. Now, to have broken the barrier; this person would have to have power. But if his strength is not his own…call it a premonition, but I think we need to rejoin the others.”

Bullet The Blue Sky: Tattoimaru’s weapon
*episode 5*
“Inuyasha.” Tattoimaru says. “Kagura, Kohaku, Kagome, and even Shippo. But that’s not all of you. Are the others afraid to face Taiyou’s might?” Inuyasha says, “Taiyou? Is that what you call that attack?” Kagome says, “You didn’t do all of this on your own; did you?” Tattoimaru laughs, “I have Kohaku to thank. He showed me that I needed more power. So I went and found this.” He holds up his prize, “The Taiyou; and with it, all the power I need.” Kagome says, “You mean that little hammer…did all this?” Laughing maniacally, the boy says, “But don’t take my word for it; see for yourself!” With that, he strikes out at them. A flash of light and a wave of pure energy shoots from the mallet. Kagura grabs Kohaku and Shippo and rides the blast wave on her feather. Inuyasha throws himself in front of Kagome; taking the bulk of the attack. They are both lifted off their feet and thrown for some meters. Struggling to regain his breath, Inuyasha asks, “Kagome…you ok?” “Yes…” she says, “But would you mind getting off of me?” “Right.” he says getting up. He turns to Kagura who has just returned to where Inuyasha and Kagome had ended up. He says, “Kagura, get Kagome to safety.” The demoness nods. Kagome is about to object when Kagura catches her eye and shakes her head. As his friends withdraw, Inuyasha draws his sword and turns back to face his opponent.

Bullet The Blue Sky: Tattoimaru’s weapon
*episode 3*
As they follow the two villagers, Miroku questions them seeking more information. “What can you tell me of this shrine?” One villager answers, “It’s called the cave of the sun. A monastery has sent two monks to guard it for as long as I can remember. That’s about all I know.” The man’s companion says, “I once heard an old man talking; he said that when he was a boy, a powerful monk had sealed a great evil within the cave. Later, he founded the monastery which sent the guards.” Sango asks, “Is that all you know?” The man says, “Basically; yes. Like I said, this morning there was a great flash of light from the near the cave. When we went to investigate, it was gone and the monks had been killed.” Miroku says, “When you say that it was gone, you mean the evil? the shrine? what?” The second man says, “No, the mountain.” Miroku says, “What do you mean the mountain was missing? How could that be so?” The man says, “See for yourself.” As he speaks, they reach the crest of a hill and see the mountain before them. Clearly, a recent calamity has befallen the location. The side of the mountain has been blasted away and the rocks that remain have turned to glass as if under intense heat. Sango says, “Miroku, what could have done this?” He says, “I have read of fire falling from the sky; but it is hard to believe that it would be capable of this level of damage. Kagome speaks sometimes of great magics in her era which can move mountains; but it seems equally unlikely that this is the cause. I can only assume that this is the work of some force the likes of which I have neither seen nor heard of.” Sango says, “So basically…you have no idea?” Not making eye contact, Miroku nods. He turns to the villagers, “Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We will proceed from here by air to expedite our journey.” Turning to Sango, he waits for her to nod her approval. “Kirara!” she calls. Bursting into flame, the cat grows to her full size. As the peasants watch in awe, the two mount her and she springs forth from the ground.

Bullet The Blue Sky: Tattoimaru’s weapon
*episode 4*
As Kagome, Inuyasha, Kohaku, Shippo, and Kagura all ride on Kagura’s overcrowded feather, Kagome assures them that their objective is near at hand. “I think they’ve stopped moving.” she says. “At this rate we should over take them any minute now.” Almost as a punctuation to that sentence, a blinding light erupts from the direction in which they are heading. As Kagura struggles to regain her vision while still controlling the feather, Inuyasha says, “Somethin tells me that that ain’t Koga.” As Kagura speeds their approach, a series of subsequent lesser bursts occur. Finally, they see smoke rising from a crater that might once have been a village. As they close the last meters and land, several buildings far from the epicenter disappear in flashes of light. At the edge of the blast, there are bodies burned beyond recognition; but as the head further in, there cease to be any traces left of the slaughter. A cloud of dust has risen and their view is obstructed. Inuyasha says, “I know that scent.” Kagura raises her fans and a strong breeze sweeps the dust away revealing two forms unharmed by this holocaust. Satisfied that his nose still works, but disgusted at the fact that he was right; Inuyasha says, “Tattoimaru.”

Bullet The Blue Sky: Tattoimaru’s weapon
*episode 1*
“Kujiku!” the boy says. The sacred barrier protecting the cave fades into oblivion. Tattoimaru has to admit that the spell breaker worked rather well. He bought it two days before from a ninja. Rejecting the offered payment plan, Naraku’s son had paid the entire cost right away, in gold. He made no secret of the fact that the gold was stolen; but this confronted neither of their morals; because neither of them had any. Kyoubou had finished off the shrine guards and the barrier was the final obstacle between him and his objective. Stepping into the cave, he can feel the demonic aura from that which had been sealed away for many years. Signaling for his minion to go first, Tattoimaru approaches the alter to the rear of the cave. The alter is simple and unadorned; behind it, a natural torch burns, sucking the air from the chamber. Coughing, Tattoimaru rest his eyes on the single occupant of the alter. Lying there is a hammer; a simple tool that a craftsman might use. Grinning with delight, the boy picks up the hammer and steps outside. Turning to face the mountain in which the cave is imbedded; Tattoimaru hefts his prize. Shouting, “NOW TAIYOU, SHOW ME YOUR POWER!” he slams the mallet against the stone. There is a flash of light but no noise. When the light fades and the dust settles, half the mountain is missing.

Bullet The Blue Sky: Tattoimaru’s weapon
*episode 2*
The group set down by a stream. Since they cleared the mountain pass two days ago they have been pursing the jewel shard Kagome sensed. As they drew closer, she determined that it may in fact be several shards. This brings two people to mind; one is Naraku, the other is Koga. If they are pursuing the wolf, which would explain the speed of their quarry, then this entire journey will prove to have been a wild goose chase. However, the chance to find Naraku makes the trip worthwhile. They have been following the base of Kiri’s mountains, leading Miroku to speculate that whoever it is traveled around rather than over the mountains and is now heading back. This behavior would be expected from almost any demon; seeing that no evil demon could pass through the mist. Now the group is stopping for a meal and a rest. Unfortunately, before Kagome can even refill their water bottles, they are hailed. “Monk!” Two human peasants are approaching with as much speed as they are capable of. Miroku moves to greet them. The villager who had spoken says, “You are a monk; aren’t you?” Judging by the way the two are eyeing the strange company he keeps, they seem uncertain if Miroku is what he appears to be. He says, “I am indeed; but I fear that I can be of very little help to you. My companions and I pursue an evil demon; we only rest to combat exhaustion. Then we must move on.” “But you don’t understand.” the man says. “The monks have been killed, the shrine destroyed.” After several minutes of conversation, Miroku returns to the others. “Sango,” he says, “I have a favor to ask. May I borrow Kirara? Apparently there was a shrine near here which was guarded by Buddhist monks like myself. With in it was an artifact of great power which warranted their constant vigil. The guards have been killed and the shrine has been demolished. It is my duty to investigate. Allow me to take Kirara and we’ll catch up with you when we have finished.” Kagura says, “My feather is already at capacity. I can’t take both Sango and Kohaku.” Kohaku and Sango have been riding Kirara while the others ride Kagura’s feather. Sango says, “I’ll go with you Miroku. We’ll catch up soon.” Uncomfortable but accepting, Miroku nods. They have spoken very little since she beat him senseless. Following the villagers Sango, Miroku, and Kirara depart.

Lazarus Heart: Found in the mist
*episode 14*
The group is gathered outside the shrine, preparing to leave. Sango is within, saying her goodbyes. Miroku, who had surprised everyone when his bizarre allegations proved partially accurate, is agitated. When questioned, he replies, “Even if he intends to allow her to leave, Sango should show caution; there are many tales of romance between mortals and gods which end in disaster for the human.” Kagome says, “And just as many in which they live happily ever after.” The monk says, “Still, I am uncomfortable leaving her alone with him.” Inuyasha says, “I seem to recall that after we rescued a certain water goddess, you spent some time alone with her. In fact, you made us all wait while you worshiped at her shrine.” The monk says, “I resent your implication.” Turning to Kohaku, Kagura says, “But you’ll note, he doesn’t deny it.” Turing his back, Miroku says, “I’m not going to dignify that with a response.” Putting this conversation behind him, Miroku reflects on his own conversation with the deity. They had met in the rear of the shrine while the others were packing. Kiri had said, “I know that you have feelings for her.” The monk had replied, “And I know that I cannot compete with a god. I accept that Sango now belongs to you.” Kiri had said, “No, she belongs to herself. She has some feelings for both of us; I intend to allow her to choose on her own.” Miroku had said, “That is very generous of you; one can only wonder how another would have acted in your place.”

Lazarus Heart: Found in the mist
*episode 15*
Sango and Kiri stand together in the main room of the shrine. She says, “Well, I should go now.” He says, “Wait; give me your weapon.” Puzzled, Sango takes the Hiraikotsu off her shoulder and unwraps it. Taking it from her, Kiri closes his eyes and seems to focus deeply. The Hiraikotsu begins to glow. When the glowing stops, He hands it back to Sango. Taking it, she says, “What? It’s lighter.” Kiri nods, “Yes, it will also be harder to break. I have blessed it; it is now a sacred relic. It will do greater damage to those who are truly wicked. It is the only way I can help you in the battles ahead.” Reaching out to take his hand, Sango says, “Thank you.” After a pause, she turns and they walk out to join the others. The group seems ready and they turn expectantly to the god. “Sango,” he says pointing, “part the mist.” Taking a moment to comprehend, Sango steps clear of the others. Facing in the indicated direction, she hurls her weapon; it slices through the mist and the mist parts behind it.
