Caged Hearts: Kagura’s Sorrow
*episode 2*

In the fortress of Naraku, Kagura paces the halls. Her face shows only anger, but her feelings are far more complex. As she attempts to put words to these feelings, a figure comes silently behind her. She is so engrossed in thought the she doesn’t notice him until he whispers in her ear, “It must have been nice.” Her apparent anger increases and she snaps her fan closed. Naraku’s presses his face to her head, his body lightly presses against her back. He says, “For that instant, when he touched you, with fire in his eyes, you must have almost hoped to be free of me.” His hands roam up and down her form as he continues, “You could see how your scent excited him. If he followed his desires, he would have taken you for his own. But that is not his way. He shunned you because he refuses to be ruled, even by his own lust. And now your suffering is a sweet nectar which I drink till I have had my fill. So you bring to me the pleasure Sesshomaru denied himself.” With a final squeeze of her hips, he kisses her ear; and then he is gone. On the verge of tears, Kagura stands trembling and utterly alone. Through her tears, pain turns to anger; anger turns to rage; and rage turns to decision. She quickly turns down a corridor to a storeroom to take her revenge.
