No Surrender: Tragic swordsman, Yuukanmaru
*episode 10*

All eyes turn to Kagome as she draws another arrow. This one she points at Yuukanmaru. She says, “Drop’em! Let Inuyasha go now!” He says, “If you have heard a word I have said, you know I cannot. As he said, I have my orders.” The muscles of his demon arms tense as he prepares to cut. Kagome lets fly her arrow. As the sacred arrow sweeps him aside, Yuukanmaru smiles and Kagome cries. Kagome rushes to Inuyasha’s side. He gestures that he’s ok, and Kagome stops and looks down, very sadly. Kagura says, “Kagome, it was what he wanted, trust me. You did the right thing.” Kagome and Inuyasha turn to look at the demoness…Inuyasha stares for a half-second before looking away in embarrassment. Kagura has stood up and is trying in vain to keep her tattered kimono on. Kagome thinks for a minute, then has an idea. Her usual chipper attitude restored, Kagome says, “Inuyasha stay put and don’t even think about looking.” She grabs her bag and Kagura’s wrist and pulls them both toward the nearest cluster of bushes. Several minutes later, Kagome calls, “Ok Inuyasha, you can look now; what do you think?” He hesitantly turns toward them and this time he stares openly. Kagura is dressed in knee-socks, a mini-skirt, a white and green sailor blouse, and is wearing a red neckerchief. In short, Kagome has dressed her in her spare school uniform. Clearly embarrassed, Kagura turns away from Inuyasha’s stare. He isn’t watching her legs, in particular, but the entire ensemble is so bizarre on her that he is dazed. Eventually, Kagome gives him a small punch on the arm to bring him back to reality. She says, “Her clothes were ruined and neither of you carry extra. It’s all we have; besides, she looks cute in a sailor-suite. Now, let’s go get Miroku.” Less then an hour latter the trio arrive at the forest surrounding the shrine. Kagura guilds the feather along the path, landing at the shelter. Seeing that the monk isn’t there, but his belongings are, the girls look at Inuyasha expectantly. “What?” he asks. Kagura says, “It’s a spring.” Kagome says, “If he’s bathing, we don’t want to see him.” “Oh.” he says. He heads towards the waterfall.
