The Jackson Cage: Tragic fate
*episode 5*
The story concluded, Sango stands and walks out of the room. Nervous glances travel through the group as everyone wonders who will go after her. Much to everyone’s surprise, Kagura is the one who gets to her feet and follows her. Sango is standing, looking out, through a hole burned in the wall, at the sky. Kagura asks, “Did you love him?” Sango shakes her head. She says, “No, but he loved me…and he’s dead because of it. It’s my fault; he didn’t deserve it.” Kagura doesn’t deny the first statement; but she addresses the second, “Sango, when Naraku even bothers to weigh the merits of his victims; he chooses those who least deserve it. He is more than demonic; he is sadistic. Naraku did this to cause you pain.” Sango says, “I know.” Kagura stands for a moment in thought. Finally, she says, “That’s all I have to say. I’m sorry, I’m new to comforting people.” Sango turns to her with a sad smile, “Thank you for trying.”
