Sango and Kagura return to the others, the old steward says, “Lady Sango, the lord had cousins, lords of their own domains. Messengers have been sent, and soon one of them will come to claim his lands. However, until that time, I govern in lord Kuranosuke’s name. While it is thus, you are most welcome here; although I cannot speak for afterwards.” Sango shakes her head, “No, thank you, but we will leave now.” The group walks outside of the castle and Sango turns to the rest. She says, “I…I need to be alone now. Go back to Kaede’s village, Kirara and I will join you before morning.” Sango watches as the others depart. She needs some time to herself; and her old friend knows how to respect her privacy.
