Thunder Road: Kikyo’s path
*episode 1*
The specter Kikyo walks a lonely road in the moon light. As she does, she reflects on the circumstances which have led her to this path.
*memory*
Some time ago, Kikyo had observed Inuyasha sharing a tender moment on the roof of an inn. Shortly afterwards, as she was filled with anger at Inuyasha’s obvious growing attraction to the living girl, Naraku sought her and told her how she could eliminate the obstacle to her goal. He gave her a jewel shard so she could travel through the well to attack Kagome in her own time; where she would be alone and vulnerable. By a twist of fate (or the will of the author) this happened to fall on the night of the full moon when Inuyasha had retreated to the relative safety of Kagome’s home. Kikyo encountered the two under the glow of strange lamps which had no flame. Following an exchange of harsh words, ultimatums, and a well placed smack form Kagome to Kikyo; Kikyo attack, gravely wounding Inuyasha in his weakened state. Before she could finish him off, Kagome harnessed priestly powers she hadn’t know she had; and forced Kikyo back through the well.
