Shape Of My Heart: Shippo’s fate
*episode 3*
Sesshomaru’s party has stopped to rest by a river, when he hears a familiar sound. Issuing a command that his charges stay there, he rushes toward the sound of many tiny wings. That many Saimyoushou together usually means Naraku. But when he reaches them, he finds them spread out and simply sitting there, doing nothing. The area they hover over is empty. There’s a rock, a tree, and a human; nothing which would warrant their or his attention. The human is a child; male, about Rin’s age. He’s sitting beneath the tree, eating his lunch, and looking at Sesshomaru with mild disinterest. He is about to leave, when suddenly he senses something he hasn’t felt for a long time. After first reevaluating the tree and the stone, he decides to take another look at the boy. Everything about him looks perfectly normal; from his face to his clothes to the mallet at his belt. He smells of demons, but perhaps he had a recent escape from some beast. Sesshomaru can’t see any reason for a cloud of Naraku’s insects to be gathered above him. But here they…wait. His gaze returns to the hammer the boy carries. He suddenly catches hold of the suppressed aura it’s emitting, and knows what it is. “Boy,” he says, “Where did you get that hammer?” “Found it.” The boy replies, pausing from his food. Sesshomaru says, “Give it to me; now.” Finishing his lunch, the human says, “Not gonna happen.” The demon says, “You have no idea who or what you are trifling with. Now, I’ll say again, give me the hammer.” Standing, the boy says, “You’re Sesshomaru and this is the Taiyou and you’re not getting it.”
