Mesuinu: a tale of Inuyasha
*episode 8*

Inuyasha is waiting alone while Mesu takes care of something. Suddenly, he feels a sharp stinging sensation on his neck. He slaps at it and brings his hand around to see what he has. After many encounters he has come to recognize the feel of that annoying bloodsucker. It is much to his surprise when he sees two parasites on his palm. One of them, Myoga, says, “My lord, I am glad to find you; and find you well. May I introduce Enjo; an old blood-drinking buddy of mine. And Enjo, this is my lord and master Inuyasha.” “Delighted.” Enjo says in a voice which says that he is not. Enjo then proceeds to talk about Inuyasha as if he weren’t there, “I must say, his father was much more pleasing to the pallet. His human blood tarnishes his taste.” Inuyasha shouts, “What’s wrong with my taste?!?” “Inuyasha, who are you yelling at?” Mesu has returned and 6 eyes turn to her. Myoga says, “My lord, I must also say it pleases me to find you in such excellent company.” Myoga springs to her cheek; Mesu grabs him between her thumb and forefinger, crushing him in the process. As she looks at him, he says, “Miss, your blood is as tasty as any I have encountered.” This draws a small smile from her, one which disappears when Enjo jumps onto her hand. He says, “Lady Mesu, at last I find you.” Mesu brings her other hand up and flicks him off of her. Inuyasha says, “You know him?” She says, “He’s my father’s vassal; a bloodsucking brownnoser who serves my family’s best interests. I don’t trust him, and I sure as hell don’t like him.” Enjo jumps back onto Mesu, this time going for her shoulder. He says, “Lady Mesu, your lord father sent me to search for you. He wants…” She cuts him off, “I know all too well what he wants; and I don’t care.” Enjo says, “Lady, I ask only for a few minutes of your time in privet. Grant me that and then I shall return to your father with whatever answer you choose to send.” Mesu looks very upset. She turns to Inuyasha and says, “You and your flea need to stay here. I’ll here what he has to say, then get rid of him; and come right back.” Mesu then turns and runs off with the flea clinging to her shoulder.
