Mesuinu: a tale of Inuyasha
*episode 18*

The next day, Mesu and Inuyasha set out running again. However, suddenly, a great demonic aura appears ahead of them. Before they can react, they find themselves face to face with a mighty demon. Inuyasha says, “Sesshomaru? No…” Mesu says, “Yaibamaru.” The demon steps toward them and addresses Mesu, “Sister, I come baring your first and last warning. Surrender this beast to us now; or father cannot guaranty your safety. He will bring death to the half-breed; and his wrath knows no bounds. Leave the creature now; for your own sake.” Mesu says, “I won’t abandon him; he’s my friend.” Yaibamaru says, “To protect a friend, is admirable; and almost always noble. However, there is never any honor in disobeying the will of your father and your clan. If you continue to ignore father’s instructions, you will die without honor or family.” Mesu says, “You can take your honor and shove it! If you try to kill my friend, I’ll try to kill you right back; and that goes for father as well. Remember, brother, the same blood flows through our veins; and I am not weak.” Her brother responds, “No, you are not. But you are a fool if you think you can stand against father in single combat; let alone with me at his side. Enough, we have said all that must be said. I will carry your words to father; and then we will resume the hunt.” He begins to walk past them, back in the direction of his father and brothers. Mesu says, “Wait; you know him best, is there a way to stop father from killing him?” Yaibamaru turns to her and says two little words; then he turns back and continues on his way. Those two words that he said were, “Come home.”
