Mesuinu: a tale of Inuyasha
*episode 19*

Inuyasha and Mesu are running at his top speed, but the four demonic auras are quickly closing the distance. When they strike, they go for Mesu first. Debamaru and Yarimaru close on either side of her and draw her into double combat. Inuyasha turns to help her; but he is struck by Yaibamaru and he goes flying. Inuyasha turns to face him; but it is already too late. Yaibamaru moves past Inuyasha in a blur of motion, he then goes back on the other side before the half-breed can respond. Yaibamaru stops with his back to Inuyasha and raises the claws of one hand; they are dripping with blood. It is at this moment that Inuyasha finds that he can no longer stand upright. As he falls, the pain from the two chunks of flesh and mussel Yaibamaru tore out of his legs registers. As Inuyasha howls in pain; he vaguely realizes that Yaibamaru now has him at his mercy. As he looks up awaiting the final blow; he is mildly surprised to see Yaibamaru simply standing there looking off to Inuyasha’s left. Inuyasha turns to his left, just in time to see the big old demon who grabs him by the throat with his left hand and lifts him off the ground. The old demon draws his right hand in front of Inuyasha’s face. His claws begin to glow bright orange and Inuyasha can feel the intense heat preparing to char his brain to a cinder. Suddenly, Mesu shouts, “Stop!” Both Inuyasha and her father turn to her. One of her twins brothers is lying on the ground clutching huge open wounds; she is holding the other by the throat with her claws already drawing blood. She says, “Drop him.” Her father says, “You’ll have to do better than that; I have three more and that isn’t even my heir.” He prepares to strike; but she calls, “Stop! I’ll…I’ll come home.”
