Mesuinu: a tale of Inuyasha
*episode 24*
“Iron Reaver Soul Stealer!”
Sesshomaru is caught somewhat by surprise by his brother’s attack; he barely manages to dodge it. However, in dodging, he agitates the wound in his stomach and falls to one knee. Meanwhile, Inuyasha tenderly lays Mesu’s corpse back down and struggles to his knees. The brothers kneel several meters from each other; both wounded; but neither one willing to yield. Sesshomaru the mighty, Sesshomaru the proud, Sesshomaru the one with a gaping hole in his stomach knows that his somewhat superior mobility would allow him to leave and deal with his brother when they next meet; that way Inuyasha wouldn’t stand a chance. However, the day Sesshomaru backs down from a fight…is not today. Sesshomaru stands, but realizes that he had best slow his movement. He raises his claw, and a ribbon of yellow energy extends from it. He swings it as a whip and slashes at his brother. To his surprise, Inuyasha’s garment repels the whip. Sesshomaru then aims at his brother’s exposed head and neck. Inuyasha raises his arms, allowing his sleeves to take the brunt of the attack. He moves his legs beneath him; and launches himself at His brother. In so doing, he tares open the wounds on his legs that have begun to heal; but rage blinds him to the pain. Sesshomaru, not allowing himself to move fast enough to do further damage, in effect allows himself to be tackled by Inuyasha. The brothers fall to the ground with Inuyasha on top. He tries to grab at his brother’s neck; but Sesshomaru moves faster. He grabs Inuyasha’s head with his claws. As he digs into the flesh on his brother’s face, he releases poisonous demonic vapors into the wound. Inuyasha struggles for a time, then he stops. As the half-demon’s body goes limp, Sesshomaru pushes him off of him. He gets to his feet and looks down on his brother. He then turns and leaves; he does need to tend his wounds. Inuyasha lies unconscious and more than half-dead for quite some time. In time, he awakens and drags himself next to Mesu’s corpse. Somewhat satisfied with this progress, he let’s himself pass out again; either to live or die beside her.
