   Chapter 4: What To Do?
Phoebe was carried about 6 more miles before they cam to another house. This one was bigger.
The man put Phoebe down. He reached into his pocket, pulled out a key, and unlocked the door.
"Let's go in, shall we." he stood to the side so Phoebe could go in first.
She didn't move.
"Okay, I understand you not trusting me. I am a stranger. But i would feel bad if I took you back home w/ no feed in your stomach. How about i bring some food out to you?"
There was a puse. Then Pheobe nodded her head.
"Alright. Why don't you go out back. Theres a table and a shading umbrella over there." He turned to go inside.
"No meat. I've always had a problem eating it." Phoebe rushed to say.
"M'kay, no meat." The guy wnet inside and closed the door behind him.
After a second, Phoebe leaned over the cyclone fence. There was a small, round table with 4 chairs and an umbrella. Not to far off was a black grill.
I want to run. But mow i'm really far from the den. Plus I only eaten an apple all day and now it's the hottest part of the day. Phoebe thought and quickly glanced at the position of the sun. It had moved to the middle of the sky.
Phoebe heard something fall inside. Hesitantly, she lifted the latch on the gate, entered the back yeard and relatched the fence. As Phoebe leisurely walked to the table, she noticed the back door was a sliding glass door. The rooms inside were paintewd plain white. There were no pictures. There was a big couch and a chair behind a coffee table. On the opposite of the door was a flight of stairs. Coming form the other room, the man was carrying two plates. Each plate had a cup on them. He was walking slowly to keep his balence. Phoebe opened the door.
"Thanks." he said.
They both sat at the table. Phoebe sat across from the guy. He slid one plate and cup to her.
"Hope your okay with a PB and J sandwhich." the guy bit into his hamburger.
"Yes, thank you." Phoebe said timidly. She looked down at her plate there was a sandwhich and a bannana. "Um...w-waht's your name? You never told me."
"My name? My name is Damian." he gave her a friendly glance, but no smile. "And what might your name be?"
"Phoebe." she gave a proud smile.
"Well, it's very nice to meet you, Phoebe. But you might want to hurry up and eat. I'm sure your parents are worried about you." Damian took a sip of tea that was in his cup.
I don't have parents anymore. she thought.
Phoebe ate her sandwhich. When she took a sip of her tea, she got a look on her face like she had eaten an extremly sour lemon.
Damian looked at Phoebe with curiosity. "I guess you can't fool anyone, especially kids, with how much sugar is in tea. Do you want me to put some more in it?" he said amused.
"No, you've done alot for me already. I'll live." Phoebe took another drink and ate her second fruit that day.
"Done?" Damian asked.
"Yes." Phoebe answered with a smile.
Damian stacked the plates and cups on top of each other and went inside.
What do i do now? He'll come out and be like, "so, wheres your house?" and then I'll say, "oh, I don't have a h ouse. I live in a little den a few miles from the town you took me from". Phoebe thought.
Phoebe shook her head and put her face in her palms.
"Headache?" Phoebe looked up at Damian, who was holding a brown plastic bottle, a blue wash cloth and a big bandaid.
"Oh, um...no."
"Well, we should get taht srape cleaned up. Wouldn't want it to get infected." Damian turned the chair. He knelt down and rubbed some of the dripping blood on to his thoumb. He gazed at his thumb for a second, then licked the blood off of it.
A strange look crossed Phoebe's face. She watched Damian carefully as he cleaned the scrape.
"This may sting a bit, okay?" Damian put some of the liquid in the bottle on the cloth.
When it touched Phoebe's knee, she winced. Damian rubbed the wash cloth gently on the girl's knee and finally put the band-aid on it.
"All done!" Damian stood. "Now let me just take this stuff inside and we'll go."
"Wait um..." Phoebe bagan.
"What is it?" Damian asked.
"Well uh..... I uh... actually I..." Phoebe tried to continue. "I'll go myself. I don't want to be anymore of a bother." she faked a smile.
"None sense. It's no trouble. I don't really ahve anything better to do. Plus," Damian got a serious look on his face. "Theres someone running around in these woods."
Does he mean the person in the cloak? Phoebe thought.
"Do you know what this person looks like?"
"I'm afraid not. They always have a cloak or something on."
"Iis it dangerous?"
"...I don't know for sure. And I don't want to take my chances with you. So let's get going, shall we?"
"But the thing is," Phoebe looked at her swinging feet. "I don't exactly, have a home-house."
"This changes things quite a bit. Then where have you been staying?" Damian stared at her.
"Theres this den, it didn't seem to be occupied, so I'm staying in that."
"Seriously? What do you do in the winter?"
"I have a heavy blanket. And I made a Hole in the roof so i could have a fire."
"What to do, what to do?" Damian rubbed the back of his neck.
"I'll just go back to the den. I'll be fine there."
It's dangerous there too. she thought.
"I don't think so. I'm sure who ever it is will go there after seeing the flame. What about your parents?"
"My... parents? They died in a house fire."
"Oh. Any other relatives?"
"They never visited us. I seen pictures, but that's it."
Damian sat at the table. His head rested on his fist.
Great. What did I get myself into? that maybe the last time i help anyone. Phoebe thought.
"Maybe...no. Um...perhaps....no. What about an orphinarium?"
"No! That's why I ran to the forest. I refuse to go there!"
"Well the only other thing I can think of, is you living with me, but I doubt you'd want that."
There was a silence.
"Which would you perfer?" Damian looked directly at Phoebe.
"I guess...it would be better the.... living in a group home...."
"Are your sure that's what you want to do?" Phoebe shrugged. "But once that person is gone, I'd like to go back to the den."
"Okay. But no sooner. Hey, let's go to town. Theres one about a mile or so from here. You could get some clothes and stuff." Damian stood again.
"You don't have yo-"
"It's alright. If it'll make you feel more at home, then I'll be glad to. C'mon, let's go." Damian opened the gate.
Oh Phoebe, what did you do? Phoebe thought with a sigh.

   Chapter 3: Gang
Sunlight shined into the den after a few hours past. The fire had gone down, so it was barely there. Pheobe still didn't sleep. She poked her head out of the den and looked both ways. A parry dog darted past her. She jumped and snickered.
As the parry dog ran out of site, Pheobe crawled out.
"It's a nice day out today. Only one cloud in site." Pheobe looked past the leaves on the trees." I guess I should get some wood so the fire doesn't go out again. And hopefully that person won't come back. Pheobe thought.
Pheobe's stomach growled as she walked along. It kept increasing each time.
I think I made the ground shake that time. Pheobe thought with a smile.
"I really should find some food."
A morning dove gently landed on a branch a couple feet away from Pheobe.
"Hello there," Pheobe greeted. "You wouldn't know where any food, that I could eat, is would you?"
The bird chirped. It flew slowly in front of Pheobe and she followed. The morning dove lead her out of the trees. There was a large flat field, until it fell into a big hill.
Pheobe looked confused and walked to the end of the field. Staring down, she seen a big town.
"Wow. Thank you very much!" Pheobe hurried down the hill as the bird flew back into the trees.
The closer Pheobe came to the town, the louder things got.
I forgot how noisy the city can be. But this one is much louder then the other one. She stumbled but didn't trip.
When she got down the hill, she crossed train tracks that seems to go on forever both ways. Pheobe finally came to the edge of the towns. Houses were falling apart though people obviously still lived in then. In one house, Pheobe heard a man yelling at a woman. There was a crying baby inside. As Pheobe continued down the cracked sidewalk, she also noticed several teenagers smoking and drinking on a porch.
"Hey kid! Why don't you come over here for a second? I wanna' show you something." she heard one of them call to her.
Phoebe ignored it and picked up her pace. Far off she heard sirens quickly growing closer. In the next second, a small blue car sped past her, A black and white car, with the number 93 on it, followed close behind.
This must be the "bad part of town" that mom told me about. I better hurry up and get out of here. Pheobe thought and began to run.
Soon she came to an ail. She stopped in front of it. There was a group of later-aged teens. They were circled around something. They were kicking it. Looking past their legs, Pheobe saw a younger kid. A boy. He looked a few years older then Pheobe. The boy had light brown shoulder length hair. His eyes were clenched shut. He was curled into a ball as the teens kicked him. He was bleeding in many places.
"Ahh!" the boy shouted. His eyes swelled with tears.
"Stop it! Stop it right now!" Pheobe yelled with her fists clenched. "Your hurting him! Leave him alone!"
The teens stopped.
"Hey look. She's acting like she's gonna do something." one laughed.
"She's just a toddler." said another.
Oh no! What did I just do?! Pheobe thought, staring at the teens starting to line up across the ail, standing in front of the kid.
"We should teach her not to mess with our gang." someone in the middle said.
"Yeah! Lets get her!"
At that second Pheobe started to run.
I can't out run them! What do I do?! Pheobe heard the round one corner as she went around another. "Ahh!" Pheobe screamed when someone grabbed her shoulder. She fell and scrapped her knee.
She looked up. A man, with mostly dark brown hair, some white, and brown eyes, put a finger over his lips.
"Get on." He bent down. "Get on my back. I'll help you."
Pheobe hesitated. Then the gang turned the corner. She got on the man's back. With a quick push, the man took off running.
He's fast! Pheobe thought.
"Hey got back here!" someone yelled after them.
The man made a big circle around. He ran past everything Pheobe recently crossed. They passes the train track and started up the hill.
"W-where are you taking me?" Phoebe finally asked.
"Away from here." The man said.
"Where would that be?"
"But-" Pheobe started to protest.
"It's alright. I'm not going to hurt you."
He ran across the field into the forest
"I could walk, you don't have to carry me."
"It's fine. It's a long ways there." The man slowed down, but not much. "How's your knee?"
"Oh, um...it's fine..."
"I'll get it cleaned up when we get there."
Pheobe's stomach growled.
"And something to eat."
"Okay." Pheobe said, still nervous. "how far away is this place anyways?"
"Seven to ten miles"
"Seriously? And your gonna carry me the whole way?"
"Yes"
"Umm... alright."

After a couple of miles, the man began to walk. Neither of them said anything until they came by a small house.
"Wait here. I'll be right back." He bent down and let Pheobe off.
"O-okay."
The guy knocked on the front door that someone soon opened.
"Hello there." a woman greeted the man. "Who do you have with you?"
"Could I come in and talk to you for a couple of minutes?"
"Um yeah, sure."
The man walked in
I wonder what their doing in there? Maybe I should run. The den can't be that far away. And I don't know what's going on, he hasn't told me much. But he is fast. He could easily catch me. I wonder what his name is anyways. Pheobe thought.
Before Pheobe could decide anything, the man came back out.
"Okay, thank you. I'll see you later." he said.
"Bye." the lady closed the door.
Right when Pheobe was about to ask his name, he handed her an apple.
"This should hold you for a while."
"Thank you." Phoebe took the fruit.
"Now let's get going."

   Chapter 2: Birds and Blurs
"Wow!" Pheobe, a small girl with light blueish hair and big blue eyes, gasped at a yellow and black feathered bird purched on her hand.
The bird churphed, the tilted it's head.
"I've never seen a bird like your before. Your feathers are so pretty!" Pheobe ran a finger down the birds back.
The bird rubbed it's head on the girl's face. A red bird flew down at Pheobe's feet. It picked at the ground with it's beak and circled Pheobe's feet.
She laughed. "Your feathers are pretty too." She sat on her hunches with the yellow bird and cerrest the red bird.
Slowly, one-by-one birds would come down from their nests and sat around Pheobe.
"This is amazing. I've never seen so many birds before." Pheobe grew excited. "And your all gorgeous!" She laughed along with the birds churps.
A couple squirels scrambled down trees to see what was going on. They found it was safe to be around Pheobe- like the birds.
"Squirels? Never had them come near me before- I don't think. Their so fluffy!" she laughed. "Your all so beautiful."

Far behind Pheobe a man, dressed in a cloak and a huge hood over his head, watching intently.
"But out of all those birds over there, you are, by far, the most magnificent, my dear!" He said to himslef. He watched her for a few more minutes, then Pheobe got up.
"I gotta' go now." she said to the animals. "See you later!" Pheobe waved and walked way.
It's coming up really soon. The man though, following Pheobe until the sun began to sink into the ground and he went his own way.
When the sun was down, Pheobe entered, what seemed to be, an old deer den. Inside there was heavy green blanket, a small round pillow, and a extra set of cloths with a hole at the top.
"Well today was a good day." Pheobe picked up a couple of rocks that layed by a pile of sticks, under the hole. "This my not last long. I should have picked up some more wood on the way back. Oh well."
Pheobe clashed a couple of rocks together. They made a spark, but no flame. She tired again, and again, and again. Nothing. She easily grew frusterated and rubbed her eyelids.
When she opened her eyes back up, there was a small fire infront of her.
"Huh? I guess it must have caught a spark." Pheobe crawled into her blanket and thought: Is this how i'm going to spend the rest of my life? I love being out in the wild more then anyting, but I'm always along.

Late that night, Pheobe's body felt cold. She cracked open her eyes. The fire had gone out. A dark blur stodd by the entrance of the den.
What's that? A dear? Please let it be a dear! Pheobe thought. She didn't dare open her eyes anymore.
The blur crawled past the long grass hanging down over the entrance. It has a few large peices of wood, that it put over the ashes. It snapped it's fingers and the den quickly filled with fire light.
What the-? Pheoboe thought "Who are-? How'd you do-? What's going on?!" Pheobe sat up, forgetting what could happen. It became clear, the blur was someone in a cloak.
The person flinched. Teh two looked at eachother for a couple of seconds, until the cloaked person darted out.
"Hey, wait!" Pheobe crawled to the opening. She looked left. Tehn right. Nothing exept trees and darkness.
Pheobe went back to her blanket.
The was so strange! How did, who ever that was, do that?! Pheobe thought and stared into the first and drifted into thought. She didn't want to go to sleep but still felt as if she was resting her mind.

   Legend of the Fire Bird
Chapter 1:
Rule Number 3

Derek was returning to a small town, which he lived, to get back to his girlfriend, Amy. He had a big smile on his face and a million thoughts running through his mind.
Today's the day. He thought as he ran a hand through his silky red hair.
When Derek entered the town, he didn't see andyone for blocks. Until he came near Amy's house. It seeed most of the men from the town were there. They had guns, bat, and clubs.
“What’s going on here?” Derek asked, looking about the people.
“guess what Amy told us.” One man responded. He has black hair and a slim figure. "Right when she found out she told us.” Derek’s eyes went wide. He looked past the people to Amy’s house. A girl with long brown hair and blue eyes has looking at him with a blank face from her door. A tear formed in her eye and raced down her cheek. Finally she closed he door with little sadness shown on her face.
“And you people want to kill me to take my powers, right?” Derek looked back at the black haired man.
“You got that right bird boy.” He smiled with greed.
“Plus you think I’m to much of a threat to you and this town now?” Derek lifted a hand to run it through is hair again. Everyone seemed to flinch. Derek laughed and put his hand on his hip. (which is strange considering he has a girlish figure.) “Now,” He flipped his hair out of his face. “Let’s see if you all have what it takes to kill me.”
With that, Derek kicked the bat out of the black haired guys hands and hit the man next to him with it. Then the man that had the bat. Everyone ran at Derek, their arms flailing with the weapons they carried. Someone hit him in the shin with a crowbar. Then someone else gave an up ward punch to Derek’s chin. Then to his stomach. Derek snapped his neck and threw him at four guys who then fell backward on their butts.
Finally, someone fired a gun. Right above Derek’s bottom rid which began to bleed.
Derek grew angrier then he’d ever been when he touched the blood. His once emerald green eyes turned golden yellow. Two lumps bulged out of his back. They tore through his shirt and grew into a pear of crimson wings. The wings knocked people several feet from Derek’s back.
Another bullet pierced Derek’s left wing. Derek dropped the bat and a flame grew in his hand. He threw in at the first man he seen with a gun. It hit the gun and the man dropped it. The flame heated up the bullets inside. Then the bullets burst. One flew up and broke through the man’s chin and up into his brain. Some of the other bullets hit men in their thighs, arms, and necks.
Oh good God! What have I done?! Amy thought while she curled in a corner of her house. Tears rapidly ran down her hot, pink cheeks. Amy jumped at the sound of a gunshot. I didn’t mean for all this to happen! I should have known. People are to selfish!
“Dammit!” Derek yelled after a man smashed his right elbow with a crowbar. Then a couple more times before Derek spread fire over his hand, grabbed the guy’s face and kicked someone in the stomach with the point of his foot and made the person throw up. The man Derek held on to was screaming in pain.
While Derek’s one good arm was occupied , a blonde guy with shoulder length hair jumped on Derek’s back. His arm wrapped tightly around Derek’s neck. He pulled out a large knife and began to cut off Derek’s left wing with the bullet hole.
Derek couldn’t stand the pain any longer. He let go of the man he had given third degree burns and killed. The blonde felt a hand grab his shoulder so he held onto Derek’s wing he’d been cutting. Derek ripped the kid off of his back along with his beloved , blood covered, wing.
“Fuck!!” Derek shouted at the pain.
In Amy’s house and in the other’s houses, women and children of all ages where crying and whimpering under their blanket on their beds.
Derek let out a yell that sounded more like a screech when someone cut him deeply in the shoulder.
“You bastard! I’ll kill you!” Derek threw the guy onto the ground and stomped once on his head. “That’s it! I’m sick of you all!” Derek felt two types of fire burning inside of him. One would possibly kill him and the other would save him.
A swirl of fire circled Derek’s arm. He jumped up and off of someone’s back, out of the mob. He continued to run as fast as he could with a limp. The remaining me followed.
Good. Be like a bunch of stupid lamb and follow me. Derek thought as he ram, holding his right arm.
After getting a block out of the city, Derek stopped. His eyes had a fiery look in them. The others stopped out of curiosity but stayed ready to fight.
“Now. This will either kill me for doing it in human form…” Derek turned to face then “…or it will just hurt a helluva lot!” he used his left hand to lift his right arm and point to the people and the town. “If you are all so interested in my powers, they your gonna’ get a kick outta’ this.” Derek grew an evil smile.
The fire that circled his arm moved faster and grew bigger and bigger. Even after his arm wasn’t visible. The fire grew 12 times larger then Derek’s arm.
“Ready?…” Derek yelled over the roars of the flames.
Everyone winced. The fire was hurled at the people and the town. The father the fire went the more is spread out.
“I’m sorry!” Amy sobbed. Her head in her hands.
“I trusted you.” Derek muttered right before his inferno hit Amy’s house.
A couple moments past before the shock of what just happen past. He stared blankly at the large flames in front of him. They went farther then the little town. Slowly he gathered and angry and slightly sad look on his face.
There was a splashing sound at Derek’s feet. He looked down. In the shirred grass he seen a puddle, rapidly growing next to his shoe. The next this he realized was that the blood was coming from his arm. It had been burned off.
Damn them!… Derek turned his back to the flames and limped away.
Derek got about half mile away before he collapsed from exhaustion and lack of blood. He turned on his back and gazed at the smoke filled sky through the leaves on the tree he laid by.
A sigh was released from Derek’s throat. Then he reached into his pocket. He messed with something round and took out an engagement ring. Derek let out another sigh
I guess it wasn’t meant to happen… Derek squeezed the ring in his hand at his side. He opened his fist and gold and diamond dust slipped through his fingers onto the grass. He could almost hear Amy yell “I’m sorry!”
“Rule number 3, never tell anyone about being a phoenix.” Derek thought aloud. He could feel the other fire building up inside of him. “Not even the closest of most trusted person you know…”
Derek knew he had just, in a way, put a curse on all the future generations of phoenixes after him. But he also knows he may have helped. He cringed at first but then a peaceful look soon crossed his face as a sapphire flame engulfed him and left behind a dark pile of asses on the ground.
The new phoenix was being born.

there i finally but in the first chapter. i'll put the ninja one in later.
