damn...

it's unbelieveable how hard it is for me to stay away from this place.. still having moodswings, but I decided to visit who updated after all. decided not to comment though, cause my comments tend to turn snappy lately.. I've already hurt one friend with that, don't want it to happen to anyone else.. I had a nice relaxing day. a Ghibli-day, if you will. watched My Neighbor Totoro and The Cat Returns in the morning. then Spirited Away in the afternoon and Howl's Moving Castle in the evening. hence the new PotL ^^" I know it's still hard to read and it pisses me off too, but my little picture program kept shutting down on me whenever I was almost finished. tomorrow will be alright too, seeing how I've got an appointment about my redo on the project from last block (the freakin' lady did something weird with the dates and forgot about our appointment on wednesday, then blamed me for it saying she thought it was on tuesday.. anyway) and then I'm free until I go over to Silver's to go shoot some pool with some of his co-workers. I hope they don't talk about work all the time again. I mean, they're great people and fun to be around, but the conversation always turns into a discussion about someone or something at work and it makes me feel all excluded and shit.. oh well, it'll probably be alright. there's your quick update on my life.. still dead-nervous about the internship and it's getting worse, seeing how I still need to write an action-plan and the info I got about my personal assignment.. some complicated research. I know I'll probably be alright, I'm just anxious. wanted to relax by finally watching some Ergo Proxy online, only to discover that it had been removed from the site.. so that leaves me having to wait for the DVD box to come out (I've given up on buying DVDs one by one..) if anyone has a nice recommendation on an anime I should watch, feel free to leave them in your comment. once again, sorry for my being all MIA and stuff, I just need to get some affairs in order and return to a bit more happy and positive disposition. something like that anyway. LOLCRITTERS!!! by the way, Silver got me past the impossible to roll Katamari, so I'm all back in the game ^^ MCL, I'm outti.

restless, but lacking energy

hey guys. I figured I should post again, even if it's just to let you all know that I might be taking a break for a bit.. the past few days, I haven't exactly been feeling on top of the world.. I've been cranky for no reason and tired as hell to boot. strangely enough, I manage as long as I don't feel obliged to be an enjoyable person, like yesterday, when I went shopping with my brother. we had fun and I was nice to be around, but that's about it. I kind of stopped attempting to be a nice person for the moment. I don't know why. maybe it's aftermath of the project. maybe it's me being nervous about my internship coming up next month. maybe it's me being nervous about my exams (the one yesterday went alright, though I have no idea what kind of grade to expect..) I do know that I've been a sore loser too.. I bought Me & My Katamari and played to my heart's content, but for the past.. four days or so, I've been stuck at the same roll-up and it just seems impossible to do >_< which in turn annoys the heck out of me.. so yeah, since I'm not the most fun person to be around at the moment, I think I'll take a little break and try to get back to the old me. postly LOLcat: until further notice: MCL, I'm outti.

Gently count 25 spec meter outer diameters.. "HUH?!" A Square!

Hey guys! ugh, spending two days behind a computer screen isn't good for me >_< with regards to the project, it's over for now.. just a presentation a week from now and it's all over with ^^ I spent the entire day yesterday, together with the bimbos, working on the final report.. well, I was working and they were chatting, looking up other stuff, talking to others on MSN and whatever else could keep them from doing work.. in the afternoon (over 4 hours after I started working) they decided to do something too.. when we finally finished up, the copy shop was closed, so we couldn't print anymore.. so I was stupid enough to offer to go back today and get things finished up. that was both the most stupid AND the most brilliant thing I ever did ^^ I got to quietly work on the report, adding more text and getting rid of the most awful mistakes. (they made a management report of about half a page.. it's supposed to be around two pages, I was able to stretch it out to one and a bit.. they seem to have never heard of Capitals either.. they just don't use them, whether it's in the name of a country, city or just plain languages.. it pissed me off, but I got it taken care of ^^ also, they still can't spell my name.. how hard is it to spell Lydia? well, apparently, it is to richy bitches, who continuously use the word Lidija for my name.. it's not MY fault you spell their names like a gradeschooler.. I mean, what the hell kind of name is Danijela? anyway..) then, I had the joy of waiting in line for over half an hour at the copy shop.. when it was finally my turn, my USB-stick didn't work.. so I had to borrow a stick from the guy, go to another computer, log on (which takes about half an hour at college, for some stupid reason they thought it would be fun to add an EXTRA program to the starting thingies, so it takes even longer >_< ) and then, when I finally had everything on a working stick, I got to stand in line for another half an hour. yeah, it sure was a fine "hand in your final report day". actually, today wasn't nearly as bad as yesterday, I like working on my own ^^ the assignment I've been given to make up for last block's project look like a fun one ^^ I get to make an action plan for the stay of a Chinese Guest Speaker, who's coming to the Netherlands for two months in April ^^ so it's an actual assignment which will be used for real once it's finished ^^ when I headed home, I decided to drop by some stores and get myself geared up for the coming of Winter-een-Mas bought myself 'Me and my Katamari' for the PSP, so now, I can play Katamari when and where I want to ^^ then, when I got home, my mom went ahead and told me a massive story about someone I don't know.. so I couldn't act too interested.. in fact, it was also someone SHE didn't know, it was about someone someone she knows knows. ... something like that anyway. tonight, I had to work.. which took just little over an hour, since it was quiet as hell in the store.. so I actually got the night off, but I think I will go to bed early, since I will be working the full day tomorrow.. as for the intern job, here are some specifics. -it's a fulltime job, 8.30 am-5 pm (which is going to be fun, since it's about an hour and a half travel for me..) monday-friday -I will still be able to work at the shoestore, but only saturdays and with a bit of luck, I can work it out so that I might also work the friday evenings again, but I won't be able to do fridays in the beginning -it is paid, which is a great relief for me, seeing how I can't work too many hours anymore. it pays about 230 euros per month, so it's not too shabby ^^ -since it's fulltime, I don't know how much I will be able to stay on MyO.. sadly, I do most of my visiting and posting in the mornings, since in the evenings I'm too lazy tired to do so.. we'll see how things pan out, I'll have to get in a different rythm anyway. Silver and I went to see National Treasure: Book of Secrets, which was really funny ^^ not as suspenseful and well-found as the first movie, but certainly not as bad a sequel as Pirates 2 *shudders* I had great fun, especially on our way back to the car, searching for clues hehe ^^ what can I say? I just love secret organisations, hidden treasure and conspiracy theories ^^ well, that's about all the ranting I've got for you today.. Lyds, now starring in: The Intern!!

hey guys!! well, I landed the intern job ^^ so as from the 4th of februari, you can refer to me as one of the interns at the Bureau for Tourism in my region ^^ or just Lytjuh, Lyds or 'you there'. I'm not as responsive to the last one though ^^" I don't have much to talk about right now, to be honest.. I was planning on posting tomorrow, but since I have to be at college early (due to having to make up for last block's project ^^") and having to work on the group project from this block, I don't think I'll have much time.. the teach said he had a great extern assignment for me, to make up for last block, since I'm the only one who still has to get those points.. so I'm curious as to what that's going to be like ^^" the bimbos have proved themselves not to be very smart, again.. one of them sent me a text message, asking me to be in college at 9.30.. only problem is, I got that one at 11.45, so that was rather useless. so I said I'd be in tomorrow, which seemed fine by them. I hope they will cooperate just as well in finishing up the project. tomorrow is going to be a good day otherwise.. I'm headed over to Silver's after projectwork and we're going to go see the new National Treasure movie ^^ hey, what can I say, I just love Nicholas Cage ^^ well, I oughtta be off, but first this, which goes out to my mom, who didn't really believe I could still find an intern job in time: and you're regular LOLcat: MCL, I'm outti

Why are you sleeping fishy?!

hey guys! hope you all had a good couple of days. mine were alright, pretty uneventful really ^^" work was boring as hell.. people seem to be done with shopping and buying for a while. and though that's all fine with me, it means there isn't a whole lot to do at the store.. friday, I got so bored I decided to just clean in the back (kitchen, office, toilet) and on saturday, I spent over 45 minutes vacuuming the store.. yeah, great joy in that -_-" the rest of the weekend was spent with Silver, thank goodness ^^ on saturday evening we watched crime&justice night as usual (L&O, L&O:SVU, L&O:CI; which is my favorite, I LURV Vincent D'Onofrio ^^, and Cold Case ^^. on sunday I tried to do some homework, but I was alltogether restless and bored.. Silver said it might have something to do with college starting again.. I was just trying to get any distraction available.. I wanted to go and do something, but my honey forced me to do homework *sobs* in the end, it saved me a lot of hours yesterday though.. yesterday, we had to take Quinty to the animal hospital, cause she was still sneezing.. she had to go under narcosis and the vet looked in her throath again. turns out, she DID have a piece of gras stuck in her nose and throath and he was able to get it out. it was all covered in pus and yuck! though she does have a little hole in her mouth, she should get better soon and the hole (probably caused by the infection) should grow shut again. she was all sad all day, cause we weren't allowed to feed her.. when she's hungry, she gets awefully cuddly though ^^ the rest of the day was spent cleaning my fish tank.. unfortunately, my male beta (fighting) fish died.. his belly asploded ^^" he was getting rather fat, so I guess it was inevitable.. I decided to clear out the enormous amount of plants, cleaned the filter and when my dad got home, we refreshed the water. it's a lot clearer again, but there's still a lot of yuck left in there.. hopefully, I've decimated the flock of snails that got in there ^^" weird thing is, after we cleaned it out, I must've taken out about four dead guppies already.. plus, there were two dead ones in the fish bowl.. I dunno why, maybe it's getting too cold for them.. but then again, the tank has a heater, so that can't really be the reason.. maybe they're just getting old? college has started again *sigh* I haven't exactly been to any lectures yet, I did go to school yesterday, but brought my laptop and spend about three to four hours working on the group project website. which is now pretty much done with YAY ^^ now just to get the final report up and the brochure sorted out, since the bimbos are doing squat.. I also found out that I got a free weekend ticket for the upcoming Anime Con ^^ save me Silver 50 bucks hehe. and who said you never get anything out of volunteering? (I'll probably gopher again this year, it was fun ^^) oh, more news came out about Version Vibrant (thanks to Ken-Ken-chan for posting this up ^^) I've decided to let everyone keep their myOtaku sites exactly the same as it's been for the last 4 years, untouched. We're also keeping them ad-free even though that was supposed to be only a temporary thing. In addition you can still create a blog with our new system though new members won't be able to create a myOtaku I snooped around in Adam's archives and this was posted before that: Here are some bullet points to help you out with where I am now. do not taunt happy fun cat!!

hey guys! the past few days have been rather uneventful.. I've finished reading my book, Weaveworld by Clive Barker and LOVED it ^^ this one, I've actually read with a pencil in hand to mark quotes I like ^^ I just adored the mix of horror and fantasy, especially due to his writing style. today, I've also been to the Zuid-Hollands Bureau for Tourism YAY!! I had an interview for the position of intern there.. I don't know if I got it yet, since they had another interview this afternoon, but they'll let me know ASAP, which is probably wednesday.. I'll keep you all informed. all I have to say about it is that I thought it went rather well, if you don't count the nerves and adrenaline rushing through my body and my complete lack of ability to finish a sentence >_< the two ladies were especially fascinated by my interest in the Japanese culture (which I handily placed on my CV, don't ask me why ^^") other than that, nothing much occured. all the gifts arrived safely at they recipients ^^ especially the souvenirs from Morrocco seem to have been a good idea ^^ all the guys got a little leather camel and all the girls got a small bracelet. I hope you all have a nice weekend. special thoughts go out to my dear friend Kikyo-chan, who's having surgery on monday. please keep her in your thoughts and prayers as well. by the way, hope you all like my new theme, I don't know how long I'll keep it up, but I'm rather content with it at the moment ^^ postly LOLcat: MCL, I'm outti

Nothing ever really begins..

Hey guys! I hope you all had a great start of the new year. Mine, it started the way a gal like myself can only dream of: in bed with not one, but two guys! Short version of the story: it just turned out that way. Long version: Silver and me spend the last day of the year with two of his co-workers, who incidentally are also father and son. After doing all the shopping for dinner, we were with a huge group (me, Silver, the two co-workers, the girlfriend of the father (also a co-worker of them >_< ), the daughter and her boyfriend and the parents of the father. Dinner was great, we chibi-wokked again and it was delicious! In the evening, we basically just spent our time drinking, chatting and having fun in general. Did the whole countdown thing in a bit of a haze, because they had a little terrace on the roof where you could see the fireworks really well. Me, I’m scared to death of fireworks, so after about half a minute outside, I retreated and left the rest to their ooh’s and aah’s. Then we basically returned to drinking and chatting again. Around three, I started to get really tired and wanted to get some sleep. Unfortunately, the father was pretty drunk and stoned to boot, so he was kind of annoying and awake as hell. After trying to convince him to go to sleep (his parents were in his room, so me, Silver and he and his girlfriend had to share the living room) I decided it would be easier to just claim the son’s bed for myself, seeing how he was still out with friends. Silver joined me and just when we were about to fall asleep, the son returned. So he basically wanted us out of his bed, but since there were two mattresses, I told him it would be alright to just get in with us, I crawled a bit closer to Silver and we all just fell asleep. HAH! That wasn’t what you guys were thinking at all eh? Get your minds out of the gutter *sticks out tongue* New Year’s day was spent visiting family. After annoying a very hung-over coworker (I just couldn’t help it: a man in the evening, a man in the morning. If you can stay up and drink and blow into the late hours, you can get out of bed in the morning to see of your guests. Plus, it was just plain funny *snickers*) Then, we headed over to Silver’s house to pick up the rest of my stuff and head over to my family. Since my granny still isn’t feeling all that well, she only had her kids and their husbands/wives come over. Usually the whole family gathers there and you’re done with it (well, as far as my mom’s side of the family goes). So Silver and me only had to visit my grandpa, who’s getting terribly old, and two great-aunts/uncles. One of my great-aunts always makes me laugh a little inside.. she’s really a sweet woman, but she can be.. well, eccentric I guess ^^” We usually also visit the parents of the boyfriend of Silver’s mom, but they were feeling sick, so we got out of that hehe ^^ I’m sorry, but I’m just not a family kind of person.. I’m wondering what the new year will bring. As for my life, but also when it comes to this place. Version Vibrant is upon us, though Adam still hasn’t let us know when the change will come.. reading comments on Yensid-sensei’s site did give me some more info on the whole thing and to be honest, maybe the dozens of new features will be fun, but the new format of blogging doesn’t attract me AT ALL! What’s a BB-code anyway? I finally got the hang of HTML for crying out loud.. well, I’m still holding on to the promise of Adam to keep the current MyO blogs alive, just not linked to anything in the new version.. We’ll have to wait and see *sigh* For now, I’ll just enjoy the remaining time on the ‘normal’ blog for as long as it will last. If y'all will excuse me now, I’ve got an internship to look for (before February, I procrastinate WAY too much..) and I’ve got work on a certain ‘group-project’ to do (which would turn into an individual project, if I would listen and do as I am told by the other members *shakes head*) MCL, have a nice day, I’m outti.

Next year, baby..

Hey guys. well, with the end of the year upon me, I can't help but get sentimental and a little bit depressed. though I haven't come very far in life the past year, I do seem to have changed a lot when it comes to personality. maybe it's the lack of anti-deps talking, but I've been thinking that I've been losing too many friends. simply because I'm jaded I guess. I decided I'm generally pissed off at the world and don't want to fight for something the other has already named a lost cause. too many people have come and gone in the past year or two and I guess I'm slowly giving up. but I miss them. I miss chatting with Grifter-san, simply because we could have loads of fun talking about the most random stuff. I miss plotting to take over the world with Magnus-chan. maybe I should return to WDX to rekindle the wacky-fun side of our friendship. I miss Natasja and Dana, two friends for a short time in college. but it's pretty much impossible to get a hold of them, we drifted apart. sometimes, I even miss Ran. though the temptation to contact him is strong, I won't. cause I don't want to mess up his life again. would be nice to regain some of the friendships I've lost. but I also have to remember the friendships I've gained. a lot of people are still here and most of them have made their way into my heart. Yensid-sensei, Kikyo-chan, DS-kun (I'm still your mommy ^_~) and others, you know who you are. as for the next year. I think it's time I worked harder on the friendships that are slowly fading than the friendships I've already lost. as for my mental state, it's 'bout time I started fending for myself. I'm not going back to those pills, nor will I contact any sort of psychiatric people. it's time I get a bit stronger and stop relying on chemics to work for me. I'll live, I've managed before. this isn't a sad post, don't get me wrong. it's simply a reflection on my life, which happens every year around this time. the year flew past, but I've sure got some beautiful moments to remember from it. like meeting my sis, Magnus-chan, even though our friendship seems to have watered since, I still can't and won't regret the fact that I went there. or going to Marrakesh, which was lovely, if you don't count the bad moments. next year will bring new perils and adventures. who knows, maybe the tension at my house will finally explode and things will fall apart. maybe it will all be alright and the air clears.. who knows, maybe Silver and I will finally find a place of our own (which I'm kind of hoping for..) who knows.. one thing's for sure; I solemny swear that I am up to no good. *blows you all a kiss and flashes a mischievous smile* Next year, baby

Christmas aftermath

hey guys! I first wasn't going to post, since I'm exhausted.. but then again, after today, I won't have time until somewhere in the New Year, so I figured I might as well post just one more time in 2007. after all, I can go back to sleep after this and have till 5 pm so it's all good ^^ I hope you all had a great Christmas and got to enjoy some time with loved ones ^^ I actually survived going back home, since my mom did what she usually does: pretend like nothing ever happened. besides, my parents were too busy having arguments with each other to really bother with me ^^' we actually had some family time, watching The Good German (which I thought was a good movie, though most of the others, namely the guys, didn't especially like it..) and after that, Silver and me watched The Nightmare Before Christmas ^^ I still love Oogie Boogie, he's the coolest hehe ^^ the presents I got my family were well received. even though my mom complained about it when I told her I bought them presents ("why did you go and do that?! now I have to buy everyone a present too or you won't get any.." *sigh*) from my mom, I got Labyrinth by Kate Mosse, which is supposed to be a really great book. we had a nice Christmas dinner, during which I ate too moishe off course.. then, we watched The Santa Clause 2 (the first one we watched the day before) and then headed over to Silver's house. where we got to open some presents again ^^ now this is where things get insane.. Silver got me a PSP >_< so now, I finally have one of my own YAY \^_^/ he got me Burnout: Dominator with it, since he knows how I love to crash cars hehe. turns out, you're not supposed to crash your own car ^^" but I'll get the hang of it eventually ^^ more gifts were opened and then, after one bag (there were two) we went upstairs and I gave Silver a little present that didn't fit under the tree ^_~ the next day, we had a Christmas-y family breakfast. and man, was it ever hard for me to wake up.. really sucks ^^" but after breakfast I got to go back to sleep, which did me some good ^^ we didn't really do much over the day. I read my book and Silver played WoW. just a quiet day ^^ for dinner, we had chibi-wok ^^ let me explain: Silver got a wok set from work. basically, it's like gourmet (little pans on a hot plate..) but in this case, with tiny woks ^^ it was fun and filled pretty fast.. after dinner we got to open the other presents ^^ here's a list of what I got for Christmas: -PSP (slim 'n' lite if that matters, a black one ^^) -Burnout:Dominator -book: Labyrinth -book: Preston&Child's Underworld -book: Kathy Reichs' Cross Bones (Temperance Brennan series ^^) -The Nightmare Before Christmas messenger bag -DVD Harry Potter and the order of the phoenix -DVD Ocean's Thirteen -Game Guild Wars Nightfall (FINALLY \^_^/) -Necklace with a heart-shaped stone -Bracelet with my birthstone -Ice-skating polar bear plush ^^ -Hair sticks with little butterflies on them ^^ -a Body Shop top-to-toe package (shower gel, body butter, body scrub, a soap bar and puff, all mango scented ^^) -DVD Paprika (actually the only anime/manga related gift I got this year *shocked*) -the latest CD of Di-Rect, a dutch punk/rock band and I think that was everything.. I'm actually too lazy to get out of bed and check the bag that holds my presents.. after the unwrapping, we watched some tv and eventually Silver and I went upstairs where we watched the DVD of our favorite improv comedy program (I got it for Silver ^^) then we went to sleep, since Silver had to work the next day. woke up way too early of course, cause Silver had to get out of bed around 5.30 am.. after he left, I went back to sleep, played for a bit on my PSP (I borrowed Tales of Eternia from him, it's a great game ^^ very addictive), slept some more.. then finally got out of bed, took a shower, ate a sandwich and got to reading some more of my book (still busy with Clive Barker's Weaveworld, it's a really good book ^^) then Silver came home ^^ we went to the store to see if maybe they had a good game for me to buy, but they didn't really have anything to my liking.. I did see this little USB Christmas tree and Silver got it for me ^^ it's got lights in it and it changes color, really cute ^^ then, we went to get Chinese food and after dinner (we were both stuffed) we went into town to see if maybe I could get a game there. after going to countless stores with no luck, we finally found some games that interested me: Dynasty Warriors for the PSP and Valkyrie Profile Lenneth. when we went to pay for them, it turned out they didn't actually HAVE DW, they just had the casing and not the game.. this pissed me off like nothing can, since that store already pulled something similar off, only with anime that time. twice, actually, when I came back a week or so later, they'd simply put the casing back on the shelves, while they still didn't have the disk.. so Silver just bought Valkyrie for me, which is a pretty cool game ^^ then we went back home and watched some tv until I was just exhausted and wanted to go to bed. unfortunately, this time, I had to go back home.. so Silver took me home and on getting there, I couldn't get in.. my dad had managed to shut the night lock, which can't be opened from the outside. great against burglars and such, not so great when your daughter still has to come home. I rang the doorbell twice and since there was light on in the bathroom, I knew someone was still up. though no one answered, so I just decided to start yelling to the bathroom window. that finally got a reply and my mom opened the door. thinking about it afterward, I think my parents were kind of drunk.. my mom at the very least, since she was all cheery and didn't seem too bothered by the NBC bag I'd gotten.. *shrugs* I showed them the gifts I'd gotten and before going to sleep, I played some more Valkyrie. so, here's what I've been doing for the past few days ^^" sorry that it's so darn long hehe ^^ for the rest of the year, I've got a full schedule planned ^^" tonight it's work, same as tomorrow. in the evening Silver is coming over here, we'll stay here till sunday evening and then head over to Silver's house. the end of the year we'll be spending at one of Silver's co-workers and I'll finally get to play Portal hehe ^^ the plans for New Year's are still a bit fuzzy, we normally all gather at my Grandma's house, but since she's still weak, we're not sure how things will pan out. we'll see I guess ^^ everyone please have a safe end of the year. be careful with fireworks and the likes and don't party too hard! don't do anything I wouldn't do ^_~ and I will see you all in the New Year ^^ MCL, I'm outti.

Happy Holidays

hey guys! this will just be a quick one to let you all know what's going on lately and to send out a merry christmas greeting to you all. I'm not really looking forward to the holidays. Christmas spirit blew up in my face and it made a sticky mess *sighs* I had a nasty fight with my mom on saturday. I literally stormed off to work and I haven't seen or spoken with her since. not feeling like it either.. to be honest, I'd rather just spend all the time until the new year with Silver and not go back home for a while.. it's just.. I can't take it anymore. all she ever does is complain and nag and critisize. and eventually enough is enough. I won't go on and on about the details, but saturday was just the last drop for me. and the worst part is: she ain't done yet, I know it. so yeah, I hope you guys ahve a better Christmas than me ^^' luckily, I only go home today and tomorrow and then I'm off to Silver again till thursday. I know it's not the best idea to run away from a problem, but sometimes, space and time is needed. Merry Christmas, happy Hanuka and so on and so forth. enjoy the time spend with your loved ones and enjoy the excitement and surprise of unpacking gifts ^^ I know I can't wait till wednesday morning, when we'll be unpacking our stuff at Silver's ^^ there are two huge bags filled to the rim with gifts ^^ and it's not even my own gifts I'm excited about, I want to know how everyone reacts to theirs ^^ (I also think he licked a funny stamp: < and this is where I'd put the pic, but it doesn't work at the main site (icanhascheezburger) either ^^" > well, take care, MCL, I'm outti. see you guys after the holidays, but before the New Year ^^
