Appleseed
Sorry I haven't posted in awhile but I was on vacation. Anyway, yesterday I watched the new CG version of appleseed ( I hadn't seen the original). It was just terrible, and next to Legend of Lemnear, the worst pile of $#!+ I have seen in a while. The animation, though it is a fusion of CG and animation, is really bland when it comes to characters. It only shines during the Mecha scenes and when someboday gets shot up really badly. The music is also really bland and at times makes you fell like you are watching a really bad American blockbuster. Oh and you can't forget the story so cliched it could be a Full House episode. It is about some clone-like species that are like humans except they don't have reproductive functions and can't feel anger. I guess I haven't seen that before! The movie just feels like a cheap american rip-off of anime. I could go on, but I don't see a point.

lists- Games that would make good anime
since I am bored, from now on I will add a list of bests or worsts to each of my post. and the first one is:
Games that would(or do already in terms of Xenosaga)make great anime! (Games based off of anime are not included because none of them are good:))
1.Metal Gear Solid 2- Easily one of the most complex stories ever told, along with wierd humor, totally original bad guys, and really stylish story telling. I am wondering why they haven't made an anime based off of it yet.
2.Xenosaga- with obviously anime based characters and mechs, an anime fan would love this. Oh and the incredibly long cutscenes which tell an elaborate tale.
3.Killer 7- A story worthy of Hitchcock with a suprise at the end that will blow your socks off. Add in the artistic visuals and the anime cutscenes that are thrown in (which are exceptionally good) and you have a great anime in the making.
4.Final Fantasy VII- I know they are making Advent Children, but I think a full series would do it more justice. Great character design ( Almost 10 years after it came out thier are more people named after FF7 characters then anything else on forums like Otakuboards, and of course the heart-wretching twist in the middle would be awesome in anime form. That is as long as they can make it as twist filled as the orginal.
5. Final Fantasy X- This helped rise the game medium into a form equal to movies. From a heart-wretching ending to awesome character Auron (I know some people might not like him), this spells great anime. I think a side-story to tell about the adventures of Auron, Tidus' dad, and Yuna's dad would work out well.
6.Devil May Cry- The makers of this game deemed it a crazy-stylish-action-game. It's over-the-top action would be perfect in an animated form. A series that took place in the 10 year gap between DMC and DMC2 to describe what happened to Trish would be awesome.
7.Chrono Trigger- The classic SNES RPG, who wouldn't like to see this in an anime form? Characters and situations perfect for the Japanese art form are shown in this game. Also Akira Toriyama, the creator of DBZ did animation for the game.
8.Shin Megami Tensei- With a classic Post Apocalytic Japan setting, and a main character who controls demons to do his bidding, this would make a perfect anime.
9.Tales of Symphonia- This would be great as a little bit more light-heated anime. Like all the other games it has an art style vert reminiscent of an anime, and its plot would work very well.
10.Shinobi- With a lack of recent good ninja anime, this could fill the void. This classic Ninja game is filled with stylish over-the-top action, and a blade who eats the soul of it's owner if it does not kill.

Qubeley Mk. II
Ok so today I built the Qubeley Mk. II High Grad Universal Century Kit (I know, a mouthful)This is by far the best kit I have built. Not only is it bigger then most HGUC kits, and has more parts, but little to no painting is needed. The stickkers fit very well, as do the pieces, you will (unless you spaz out for some reason) not break or have any trouble putting together the pieces. It also looks very nice when done, even with the lack of weapons ( all thier is is a laser sword).

Otakon
With Otakon 2005 done, it is time to tell you about it. After getting there I waited for about 20 mintues to get my pre-regged badge. At Otakon the 5 main places to go where the panels, video games, theaters, workshops, main events, and the dealer room. First off the panels, unfortuanately I only saw a short portion, as panels were hard to get into, but of course it always fun to ask your favorite web-celbrties questions. I am not into web comics that much so these didn't really appeal to me. On to the Video games. The video game room was really fun, with tons of import and domestic games, no matter what you were into. They also had tons of game tournaments. The only problem I had was how many game systems they had. The room was huge, bigger then any other room aside from the dealer room, yet they only had maybe 50 (at the most) games set up. At a con with 22,000 people you can imagine every game was always filled up. Next was the theaters. Not suprisingly, they had really good showings of anime, and I watched quite a few I had never seen before. Now here was probably my biggest problem of the con. Every theater had around 20 or 30 rows of chairs, and if you didn't see the last show or get in early you were stuck in the back. Even with the fact I am 5'6" this isn't normally a problem, until they decide to sub EVERYTHING. Normally I am for subs and all, but in a jam-packed showing room it is basicaly impossible to read unless you stand(which I did). Then we have the workshops. Of course you have your typical manga drawing workshops and all, but I was more into the model building, as I can't draw, so that was really fun. Finally, the heavenly dealer room. Otakon, being the largest anime convention on the east coast did not disappoint in these terms. Anything anime related was there, including Gashapon, Manga, dvd's, models, t-shirts, bags, wall scrolls, and it goes on and on And as always, this was the big attraction of the con. So in conclusion, I am going next year and you should too.

Til Otakon! i decided I might just put on some of my comoflague, and some face paint and go as solid Snake, lol. Also I finished Escaflowne, a touching ending but the series all and all was a little to preachy about non-violence and all, man pansy stuff like that pisses me off, just kidding:)

OK so my friend had his birthday party today. He invited 9 people, and 2 showed up, me and another friend. it isn't like they had good reasons not to come, I talked to some of the people before-hand, and they just didn't feel like coming. Seriously, how cold can you be?

6 more days until Otakon!
Nothing much is going on, except the fact that thier is 6 days left until Otakon. I am selling pretty much everything I own so I can have enough money to buy stuff at Otakon. Other then that, I haven't been able to upgrade my website in awhile, so hopefully I will have some time to update it soon.

nothing much
I have been missing a few days lately, since nothing I haven't said is going on with me in terms of anime, I continue to watch Escaflowne, and I am about half way done, and I bought the tickets for Otakon yesterday. Unforutanately since I made up my plans too late I won't be cosplaying. I am going with two of my friends, so if you want to meet up with us since you are alone, I would be glad to do it.

Wall Scrolls
I got a .hack//sign wall scroll I bought off of Ebay. I recommend if you have around 10 bucks and want something for your walls definitely buy them. They usually have some cool anime scene on them, are easy to hang, and are made of a nice nylon threading. Other then that, i am finally sure of my plans for Otakon 2005, I will be there Friday the 19th all day.
